Type "/modkit" and right click with the golden sword to display area information.

huh. I haven't played Minecraft in awhile.

might be interesting to see a server with stuff that's already been made seeing as how I really only tended to explore caves (til I lost everything and got fed up)

I can live with the fire and the creepers, the key is to keep the creepers out and build around your decorative fire so nothing catches fire. I was wandering to and from my pyramid to the underwater passage and around, and ran into a creeper wandering around in my underground lair. Looks like I'll have to store some spare materials for emergency repairs. But I really want to start mining for at least some decent armor, weapons, and go down into the netherworld.

 

Cave exploring is nice.
I made so many secret underground lairs its not even funny anymore.
Guess whats under DEagle Islands? ;p

Vicious, I think someone set fire to the mining storage room you put in the snow biome. It was almost gone when I spawned there.

 

Fires seem to be spreading everywhere.

 

Is there a possibility that the whole server has been explored...?

 

Why, do fires break out if all areas have been explored?

 

Hmm that sucks. I think we do have a secret griefer on the server somewhere as I visited my old skull home today and found bookshelf's missing and random redstone on the floor that was not there before, and I had had other random strange things happen here and there.

Nothing major so not going to make a panic of it.

 

The server will keep expanding the more you explore it. Minecraft is supposed to be limited to basically how much data your server can hold and if you had enough of a server it can span like 2x the surface of the world.

 

Was there a fireplace in the biome? I'm building an igloo in that area, lol. And using infectedsonic's cabin as a safe haven for night time for now. I hate night with no resources...

 

I had a few iron ingots gone from my chest today. Not a big deal, I've got enough to share, but I wish someone would ask. hah.

@kevman I have not used it but zmod gives us really good chest protection.

type /pass "password" with password being your personal password not in quotes and you will set your locking password.

Any chest you place down with the password active will automatically be locked and only somebody with that password set can open it OR break it (I think bukkit would let us lock chest but you could just break them open)

Type /clear to clear your password

Hmm just logged on and saw a message "XXXXXXX" Was Burned Alive!! and then they immediately logged off.

It was a person who I have never seen online before. They could be our pyro burning everything down that would explian why t hey burned to death and why they logged off soon as they saw me get on.

I could be jumping to a conclusion, but its worth investigating. I need a way to see the name of everybody registered to our server as I will know the name when I see it and cant scroll up my text to find it.

 

Thanks for info on chest password. Will probably use it sparingly, usually just kinda use them for random storage to keep my inventory clear.

 

Yeah its worth having your public chests that people can get your excess materials out of but then having your own personal locked chests with your rare stuff that you need like gold/iron/diamonds

When I dug that pit under the viking fortress @ old spawn I had 5 double chests full of cobble....

I think it is better if we just moved to a new realm by migrating all the existing creations with it. I think the current realm is just getting dangerous and messy to work with for newer players and such.

 

I built on an island that is behind deagle islands. It's not to far away though.

May also go back to Bukkit if the new realm gets trashed too.
Bukkit got a whole suite of anti grief tools.

Il delete chunks from the current map first and let the world regenerate again.
Using the same seed it will look the same. (hopefully)

 

Is the world really that messed up? We have a server of less than 20 players that is less than 2 weeks old and other people have servers with hundreds of players that have been going for months.

I dont have any problems with things as they are and I only think we may have one person griefing so we just fix the problem directly and track that person down if they exist.

Im sure its a lot of work to "port" over player structures having to select all the stuff they are composed of and place them in a suitable area.

I will just go along with what ever we do, but I feel like some people are over exaggerating the problem a bit and perhaps if we do have issues its still more of a server quality issue more so than a player created issue.

 

Look for yourself.
Its near the rails where i made the long double rail bridge with glass roof.
Look near sea level.
Very easy to spot because there is rails there and a huge crater near the mountainside.
I got so upset i teared a hole into the void and TPed pigs into it. lol

By old spawn is the old glass rail bridge i only found one thing that looked like a void and had some pigs near it. I just filled it in.

I cant check the cords at work but its not the area near old spawn.
Its the rail from new spawn to DEagle Islands.
near the area from tunnel to wooden bridge with glass roof.

 

Rode the rail from old spawn to deagle.... trail was blocked off with 2 blocks to prevent you from falling into a massive void of death that is a huge hole that goes down to bedrock with lava and water and lots of skeletons

That must be the one you are talking about, its on the single rail non glass area, I was thinking about the old glass rail area (our first rail area) but anyways I think I just fixed most if not all of that massive void as well.

 

Notch really needs to work on water physics. It is taking me two days so far to actually mend the fail water aftermath at the former canal region between the nuked island and DEagle.

 

My guess is that whoever nuked the area is a mod, and if actions like that hurt the gameplay for others that means demote.

Also Minecraft & Co got corporate (cough Kinect cough).
But maybe we get a client without Java for PC with the Xbox 360 release?
I have tested a few non Java server builds and using another language did make a difference both in CPU and memory.

 

Well I have to go back to work but I fixed most of the water area for Star Forge, and fixed the void of death and the rail on the way to Deagle Island.

Water is by far harder to work with :/ took me atleast half an hour while the "void" was a quick fix. Also never make a water dome 50 ft high the server trying to crunch the physics of all that water falling causes everybody to crash for a while.

 

Notch sold themselves? Goddammit...

Also thanks to Vicious, we got the water back to normal and yeah, we should limit TNT usage for the sake of everyone.

 

Who was it that made the MASSIVE explosion?

 

Some of them was Mastershroom, he didnt do it in a public area but it also was not far away from the public area. The water stuff I had to repair was the epicenter of his TNT site.


I do not know who took out the rail and almost an entire mountain but that was a huge void that went all the way down to the bedrock.

I think everything is squared away now so lets just not do it again, if it is on purpose though from here out I will be out for blood

 

I did all the TNT, although I was told to just destroy the entire island.

 

I haven't even been able to build a single block of TNT. Not sure how someone could have built enough to take out an entire mountain. I have started messing with water though, it's a pita. Working on a water elevator, but not working as planned.

I started exploring the snow area though. I built a long shaft in the "public" structure, but stupid me didn't take supplies for ladder, and ended up falling to my death a few times trying to lay ladder from the top down, lol.

If you hold shift down while you are on a ladder, you won't move. It makes it a lot easier to lay ladder from the top down.
