LOL oh wow. Gamespot just gave this game a 7/10 how did that happen?
-
I'm totally fine with 70 cars. Have you seen the cabin detail of these cars?
-
I read the GS review and watched their video review and they mentioned nothing about driving in the cockpit view which is what Shift is mostly about...
The footage in the video review are mostly about how the guy kept screwing up in 3rd person view lol. -

Even though I liked NFS Shift, but I really want to see NFS always as street racing, cops chasing and stuff.
-
i do agree with the gamespot review in terms that Shift has terrible sound tracks and a bare bone career mode. also the game is pretty exploitable since you can level up your profile and earn money just by play quick races with no AI cars. other than that, it's impossbile to play in cockpit view without maps and best lines, i think more HUD configurable options would be nice, right now you either turn everything on or off, but i just want the map and nothing else.

I honestly was recently going to make an thread about that in particular.
I noticed gamespot ALWAYS ranks Wii games low as hell. Any time you check wii game reviews from multiple sites, they seem like they are always giving the absolute lowest score for that particular game. -
Just picked up n4s shift, the ramen noodle diet can begin. Stuck at work but as soon as I get home asphalt will be devoured.

Played a little more and now I'm onto the Tier 2 cars & events. I love the handling of the cars in this game...
Infiniti G35...................Nissan Skyline GT-R.......BMW M3 E92
I played a few races with each of them (all fully upgraded) and to my surprise I actually like the handling of the Skyline a lot because it turns and slides better than the other 2 even though the car's specs seem to say it's got worse handling & acceleration than the others... -
I haven't played a racing game in a good while.
So far...
Fun, fast, decent challenge.
360 controller works by default out of the box.
Loading times are rough, and the lack of HUD customization bothers me.
But other than that I'm enjoying Shift, I need some practice though, very realistic; one wrong move and you're on the wall & turned around backwards -
-
Hey, i have a question. Can laptop players play NFS:Shift?
-
Other than what you just said I found the replay system & camera angles decent but not as good as the ones in GRID.
-
-
I tried it out...
Not my thing. I hated GRiD and I hate this. Plus, it takes forever to load, the car selection is low, and it crashes a lot on both my computers. When it's not crashing, it's not running well, even with low settings and resolution.
Does anybody else feel like there's a lag in input as well? -
So does the Logitech RumblePad 2 have pressure sensitive triggers?
Like for accelerating and breaking, you can gradually increase and decrease car speed.
Thanks! -
out of those 3 cars if you compare those screenshots)
-
Cool, thanks, I guess I will go with the xbox 360 controller when I buy me a copy.

Gamespot review is crap. Complaining about the absolute first race in the game just seems so petty.

I tested this game out today, I am working on code to use the wiimote mario kart wii wheel style just for the fun of it. I already have it working with nunchuck + wiimote combo though.
-
This game rocks, just played a little but controls feel nice, graphics are awesome, and it is lag and crash free on my set up. Maxed settings x4 antialiasing.
I really like the cockpit view with no hud, it the closest I have have felt to really driving a car in a video game. -
yikes, i'm in Tier 2 and i can't even get into podium and i won every single race in Tier1 lol
-
I spent a few hours testing out each Tier 2 car to find out what suits me the most though. (Did lots of buying, fully upgrading + "works conversion", test on a track & then selling..lol)
and here's what I found...
The Lotus Elise 111R has the best handling out of all the Tier 2 cars by far but it has a relatively slow top speed (but more than enough to easily win the events for me coz it has awesome brakes+handling+acceleration).
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has the second best handling closely followed by the Nissan Skyline GT-R.
And a few upgrade screens here
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (fully upgraded without works conversion)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (works conversion)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (fully upgraded + works conversion completed)

well, i'm using a tier 1 car, the Nissan 350z i believe, with everything available upgraded and has like above 8 rating but it handles horribly. i usually have to brake early before getting on the yellow lines and still spin out of the tracks. is it the car's problem? i thought the cars are just too fast for me to handle.
-
Although try not to get the Tier 2 370Z because that car's handling isn't good as well. lol
-
If only it comes out on Steam, I'll definitely buy it!
-
-
Is there a demo yet?
-
Not sure if it's me, but this game definately feels different to other simulators, handling and feel of the cars feel very buggy, and sort of delayed, i keep losing control and spinning it, try bring cars back the other way and i just lose it.
chase cam is weird too, when the car moves, hard to explain, but dont feel right. -
They need to patch this game, i can't even change GFX settings without it crashing, well it changes fine, as soon as i start to race, crashes to desktop.
great! -
the few people i have spoken to dont seem to have any issues with the game, at least not with crashes etc.....hopefully it gets patched soon so you can enjoy it.....good luck
-
Yesterday, I was playing this game for a really long time. After I bought the game I went straight home and started to play it! It's a really good game but it's not the best of the series. I found it to be very hard but that's a good thing because it will make me to keep playing the game until I finally beat it!
I don't have time for a long review but it was definitely worth the money -
I'm smoking everyone lol...
I can't wait for the big daddy cars -
-
A demo of NFS Shift has been finally released now if you want to try out the game before you buy

Enjoy -
i wanna see if it will even run on my laptop. also, this gives me a good opportunity to test out my new internet connection
-
Great graphics, though the steering isn´t that great in this game. Graphics wise, well around the level of quality Grid with Ultra tweaked settings.
-
-
i just realized AWD cars are so much better than RWD ones in terms of handling and stability.
