I am going to receive my copy of Shift later but if people had to choose between Shift and GRID what would you choose?
-
Damn it, I didn't even realize I could use nitrous in this game...and I'm already in tier 4.
/facepalm -
anyone wants to play online?
-
Just went out and bought myself a xbox360 controller just coz my logitech rumblepad 2 doesn't have the force sensitive triggers.
By the way I found some interesting info in some other forums which seems to make the driving a lot better/easier for me.
http://forums.xbox.com/29123795/ShowPost.aspx
Steering Dead Zone-15%
Accel Dead Zone-10%
Brake Dead Zone-10%
Steering sensitivity-5%
Acell Sensitivity -5%
Brake sensitivity-5%
Speed steering Sensitivity 100%
On to the 2nd fix:
At the main menu enter CAR GARAGE----> TUNING, press 'Y' to enter quick tuning mode.
Under the heading 'balance' move the slider all the way to OVERSTEER. That's right oversteer. Apparently the developer labeled this slider wrong or its a glitch. Turning the slider to oversteer will actually add understeer. -

i have a rumblepad 2 as well and i just assigned acceleration and brake to the right analog
-
Got tier 4 unlocked and got my favorite car all tricked out and finished! The xbox controller is indeed great for this game. Ford GT ftw!!!
-
LOL, I turned oversteer slider all the way down and it just felt TOO stiff. So I set it on 25. I've just gotten too used to being able to flick the analog stick from right to left then powersliding all the way around a corner to completely give it up.
Still though, it'll be nice to not slalom down a straightaway in a RWD for once. -

Loving the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (fully upgraded but without works) at the moment. I just love how the cockpit looks.
-
How will this run on my XPS 1530? I have the 8600m gt.
-
i can run the demo on high settings on my HD4570 -
I just finished downloading the demo; I'll be playing it later if I can. -

Can't wait till I get my 360 controller hopefully this week.
-
The game runs terrible on my machine. I had it at medium details and 1024x640 and the FPS were below 20 I'm pretty sure.
-
I'm trying to figure out why this game considers a Ford Escort to be European...
-
-
-
OK. Still doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me though to see the words "Ford" and "European" together.
Definitely turn of v-sync if you're having performance issues; you can barely notice even the slightest of screen tearing with it off. -
I love this game but at the same time I feel GRID is alittle better.. just my opinion though..

Ford sells like crazy over in Europe.
Unlike here, in North America, Ford isn't in trouble in Europe. Kind of sad don't ya think? -

Hmmm, encountered my first bugs. In the menu system one car was invisible, and paint jobs applied to one car have been showing up on others. Kinda annoying, but no big deal. Anyone else see this?
-

Hey has anyone installed the new patch yet?
http://www.needforspeed.com/web/nfs/downloads
"This patch adds two new features: LAN (Local Area Network) play, enhancing the multiplayer experience and Mouse Support, providing full menu navigation through the game using your PC mouse."
After installing the patch I noticed the loading times are significantly shorter than before, it actually loads quite fast now for me. -
Yes the load times have gotten shorter for me as well. :-D

I haven't gotten any offers from anyone trying to sell me their copy, I guess all the haters began to like it.
-
I'm about to download the new patch but I have to say this game is pretty f-ing hard. I'm not good at racing games but NFS Shift is definitely a good game but it's to hard for me
I hope to complete the game in a month or two.
-
you will get better at it mate, the good thing about racing games is practice makes perfect, once you learn the perfect lines it just a matter of learning breaking times, gear changes and your in business......keep at it..
-
Vinyard, make sure you try out those control settings posted a couple pages back. It's really helped out a lot of people.
-
I don't know about everyone else but I skipped all of the drift events (because the drift handling in this game is hard) and also most of the 1 on 1 car battles (coz it's almost impossible to beat unless you're really good and never make mistakes, or you somehow managed to push the AI out of the track and win by going ahead of him by 5 seconds, which is also pretty hard sometimes.)
I only do the normal circuits and time attack events because they're more manageable and more exciting. -
I skip all the drift events as well. It's a shame really, since I'm predominantly only playing the USA and Europe events as a result. The head-to-heads can be pretty rough, and you really have to drive defensively once you're in the lead. Don't let them pass you on the inside, keep them directly behind you in your rear-view(which takes your focus off the track, often causing you to mess up) etc.
If that fails you can always what I did: smash the **** out of them! lol Seriously, some events I became so frustrated I'd just draft behind my opponent until the first fairly large turn and plow right into the back of them. Doesn't always work, and is cheap as hell, but hey... -
I just unlocked Tier 2 i must say this game is pretty awesome so far but yeah the drifting events sucks they are very hard :/
Imma give NFS Shift a 8/10 -
so i decided im going to get this after watching a friend playz it.
its absolutely awesome
Edit: Is this on steam?? -
nice one mate, im still waiting for my copy to arrive, got a email day before yesterday from my guy at ebay requesting a three day extension...so hopefully it will be shipped today or tomorrow, as for weather its available at Steam it doesn't seem like its around at the moment but it doesn't mean it wont go up on their store at some time in the near future.
-
I have been a major fan of NFS games since the Underground release. It's a good racing game with a twist, I played it both in console (Xbox) and PC and both are good (but I prefer PC of course).
The last one I played was PRO street, but Shift looks good too............ as Always. -

Someone is gonna get negative feedback... -
yeah its annoying, the guy i get my games from is very good usually but this time he said the game was delayed and didn't arrive when it was expected so i guess ill wait rather than cancel the order etc etc..
-
I'm not a fan of the NFS series since it went to "street racing", and even though I got to try it through my younger cousin, I can't get used to the fact it has that environment. I'm going to let him keep the game and go back to playing Race 07 / GTR Evolution for now.
-
/me reinstalls Most Wanted Black. -
my mentality: streets: street racer
track: track racer.
Nurburgring: track for intents and purposes, although it is a public road.
