wow great deal for grid
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
maybe, i missed that deal if it happened.
-
GRID is a super fun racing game... not a hard core sim, but an absolute blast, and better handling and fun than the arcade NFS stuff. Must buy in my opinion for that price... in fact, I owned the retail version since it was released, and had to snag a Steam copy simply to have handy for reinstalls... great game!

Not Steam, but Impulse is having a sale this weekend. 50% off all Meridian4 games, or $80 for a 30 game bundle...That's like $2.60 a game. Steam can't even beat that.
-
-
-
I was referring to the 30 game deal, I didn't think steam included that in the Meridian4 game discount.
-
I'm not saying that Impulse doesn't have good deals, but it's not accurate to say that Steam doesn't have those kind of deals, because it had basically the exact same ones before Impulse did. -
All 3 Brothers in Arms games for $19.99!!! That is one hell of a deal, I think im going to get it.
-
If i didnt already have this i would get them!
oh and if i hadn't just spent my money on Arma 2 and L4D.. oh and the Orange Box xD -
I guess this thread hasn't been updated, but there's a couple of great games on special right now!
Half price on Mount and Blade ($15), King's Bounty ($15) and the Penumbra series. I've never played the Penumbras, but have read on here that people have really enjoyed them. The other two I have played and loved! Knight of Honor is also on for half price ($7.50) and looks alright.
The other stand out is Plants Versus Zombies. Rediculously simple fun, on for $7.50. Totally addicting game, and yeah, it's only $2.50 off, but still - it's worth every penny!
Just wanted to bump up the threat and make sure people didn't miss out on any of these on sale if you don't already have them! -
Just wanted to thank the OP of this thread. Great idea, and finding some sweet things on here. Thanks again!
-
I'll take care of it tonight.
-
For strategy lovers out there, right now 50% off all Paradox games on Steam.
I love Steam! $12.50 Hearts of Iron II Complete....can't beat that. -
Age of Empires and Starcraft is about as far as I go in the strategy games -

).
-
just bought Bioshock
£13.99 deall! -
I'm thinking of getting X3 Terran Conflict.... looks ridiculously difficult but ridiculously fun if you can get into it.
-
I'm thinking of picking up Kings Bounty for $14.99, looks interesting. -
Is X3: Terran Conflict any good?
-
It's a 7.7gb game...
I'm doing some reading on it... I really hope I can get into it, or it'll be a total waste of money. The learning curve is basically vertical, but once you get into it it'll reward you for it.
Depends on if you've played space sims before... and not necessarily space combat sims... but space... everything... sims. It's a whole fluctuating and growing economy simulator, merchant simulator, etc etc. -
Let me know how it is.
-
U guys think cod 4 modem warfare still worth it. Is there much ppl playing it?
-
75% off Men of War.$7.50 for a $30 game.Thats a steal.
-
Why is only the bioshock trailer and demo available no more bioshock?

I've been waiting on X3: Terran Conflict to go on sale. Thanks!

First off, from the very beginning you can tell it's going to be a very love it or hate it game... it has a big following, lot's love it... but I'm sure many more hate it. It's a very difficult game to get into, with a nearly verticle learning curve. And that is scary because apparently the older games are about 10x worse. That being said, I've played for around 4 hours, and have a decent grasp on the basic things for now... I can dock at stations, shoot other ships down, get out and repair my ship, buy and sell, upgrade, etc. There is still a lot to learn though.
Basically if you like older games like Privateer or Freelancer, this game has a lot of the same, but perhaps a little slower... and a huge dose of trading and building, if you want to get into that. You can pursue any or all of these things. It's a super open ended game, to the point that you can easily have no idea of what to do next in a mission. Also, I'm not speaking from experience, but I've read that it has a pretty weak story. That's not really the point of the game though... it's do what you want, build what you want, create what you want from the game.
Some also compare it to a glorified spreadsheet because of all the work that can potentially go into trading and building.
Anyways, I want to stick with it, hopefully it gives you an idea of what the games like. Here's a few links that will give you a better idea.

Perhaps we should start a thread in the gaming section of everyone who owns this game to try and help each other out... I know I'm going to need it -
Yeah I just downloaded it and played around with it a bit, seems a bit confusing but hopefully I will get the hang of things.

The current weekend deal is kinda meh, but D2D has Saints Row 2 for 14.99, just get the key and plug it into Steam. Now that's a warm deal.
-
Citizen86 pretty much summed up X3: Terran Conflict well.
It is not a game for the casual gamer. The learning curve is steep, battles are horrendously hard at first, and you will curse the games dozens of times if the first dozen hours. Thats right, dozen hours. I really don't think you can get truly comfortable with it until you've gotten at least a M6 or a top notch M3 and started running a small station or getting a couple of UTs.
If you stick with it, there are large payoffs. You can do anything you want in the game. You can have 3 dozen automated traders just making money for you, a fleet with a carrier, half a dozen destroyers, and dozens of fighters at you're whim, or a self-contained production facility. If you can get into the game, you can easily spend at least 100 hours in it if not more. -
I'm not there yet... hoping to push through until then though
-
i had (still have) the original half-life game of the year edition cd. however, steam came out after i'd finished playing it, iirc. so i'd installed steam and created an account and registered HL. problem is, that machine has not worked and not been used for a long time. and i've created a new steam account for myself with left 4 dead, cs:source, etc.
any idea how i can transfer HL from the steam account i have no access to, to the new one? i can take photographs of the cd case for proof (to steam support) if required. -
If you remeber the email and password, you can still load it on your computer... you can use your steam account anywhere, so it doesn't matter if the computer you used it on doesn't work.
If you really want to combine the account, you'll have to email support... I don't think they usually do that though. -
So I have been playing Terran Conflict for a while now and I am having troubles trying to make money and buy things that I need (Still using the Sabre) Anybody know of anyway of to get a good amount of money and items and such?
-
Combat missions are pretty easy at the beginning. Even missions that say very difficult are still easy. Do those for a while and you should make around a million credits.
-
The only missions that I can only seem to find are the ones were I need to scan an asteroid (No scanning equipment) or transport some random crap. (No room)
