Guys, sorry for not updating this for the last few weeks. I wasn't on NBR much because I was busy with other things. I'll be sure to update this thread later on today.

Why must we put up with the bogus Age verification screens? LOL, does anyone ever give their real age? Mastercard/Visa for kiddies?

Purchased the DLC for FEAR with the discount this weekend. I bought F2 the day it came out. Liked it... It was nowhere near as good as the original, but it was still pretty good.
Hopefully the DLC will be good. Won't know till my G71 comes in.

Updated (finally) with L4D deal and others. L4D is 50% off until Friday this week. It's a great game but if you don't have it, I suggest waiting for L4D2. It's not really worth buying at this point anymore with L4D2 coming up later this year.

Hey but L4D 2 have a chance of sucking and those that buy L4D now can wait till the price of L4D 2 to drop. L4D have given me over 1000 hrs of gameplay!!

Matter of opinion, I think most will say yes.

I guess I agree, the game got old fast but for $15 the cost of 2 movie tickets to hold you over for 2 hours, L4D you can easily get a solid 2 months gameplay out of it for the same price.

Infact I think thats the best way to play L4D, hard & fast as it was so good at first but got boring fast for me. So get in now and play it while its fun and before the customer base splits in half with some going to the new game.

I played the demo, but I didn't think it had enough depth to give you a good idea what the game would be like on a whole.

.... still thinking.... (ouch, that hurts!)

Thanks. I, however, decided to go with World in Conflict Gold for some reason.

Anyway, what are some awesome THQ games to look forward to? Steam is having a "THQ Week" where some THQ game is 50% for the day. Today is Titan Quest Gold Edition: Titan Quest & Immortal Throne for $9.99.

They should have an Activision or EA week.

Yes, if you like RTS games. Civ4 is turn-based, so it's different than, say, Starcraft or Age of Empires. $20 for all four of those games is an amazing price. All I can say is that I wish I bought Civ4 (plus the expansions) for that price, it's a fantastic game.

If you really like fast-paced games though, Civ4 may not be for you. It's pretty slow-going. That being said, I play mostly FPS games, but I still really like Civ4.

Ahh. Thank you for the feed back and for your thread - because of it I've gotten so many games lately!

Would you or anyone else care to comment on multiplayer and matchmaking? Poor matchmaking/no one playing online is always somewhat a concern when purchasing a game that has been out for a couple of years.

I agree - I would've really liked to see at least a smidgen of the campaign in the demo. The sea battle was a good thing to show in the demo, but otherwise it didn't leave me impressed. Although part of that was that my army was absolutely horrid at crossing the river in the land battle and got itself far more slaughtered than it should have, even if my orders were subpar.

Combined with the fact that I still have a lot of Rome: Total War to play from Steam's sale on it in January, and that I don't have a 4870, and that deal was easy enough to pass on for me.

I missed that one, or I might have gone for it. That game looked really good to me from the review, and I might have paid $25 for it last spring if they hadn't yanked the demo on the release (not trying a totally new game for me for that price with no demo). Definitely looking forward to trying the Left4Dead Two demo, and may well buy Left4Dead One if I like the demo for Two.

The The Civ4 Complete Edition deal for $20 is mighty tempting, though. Too bad the Steam version inherently comes with more DRM than the DRM-free retail version - otherwise I'd almost certainly pick it up (I <3 Civ3).

Forget the Crysis offer. The entire Overlord series is for less than 10 bucks. That's 3 games for 8.75. Well, two games and an expansion. But still very cool.
