I just recently got a PC that can handle "gaming." I've been interested in getting UT3 (used to have it for 360) I saw that the "deal pack" is 40 on steam. Is this a good deal? I figured it would give me a chance to play 2004 and UT3.

Also, Far Cry for $5 and Far Cry 2 for $10, you don't gotta get the bundle.

Which is cool, I think I'll grab Far Cry 2. The first one just seems too old now.

    Unreal Anthology $8 at Amazon
(contains the original Unreal with the expansion pack, Unreal Tournament GOTY edition, Unreal II, and UT2004 Editors Choice)

Unreal Tournament 3 $8 at Amazon

The only caveat is shipping, but even after that it will be half the price.

The titan pack it advertises with "Unreal Tournament 3 Black" on steam is a free download so you can get that too.

Also, the first one won't run on Vista/7. Assuming you're on one of those now.

It's not consistently running for all. I don't mean that some driver or hardware issues cause problems for the game for some ppl. Many ppl have problems running it on Vista. Since the requirements about it are specific (till XP only, no Vista), I wouldn't expect a "money-back if it doesn't work".

    YMMV.

Far Cry 2 you mean? It's not as good as the first game (IMO), but it's well worth $10 of anyone's money ;)

The Physical, steam, and free ubi version of FC all work on vista/7. (Why I have 3 copies is completely irrelevant.)

It's terrific. If you like pretty simple puzzles, but fun use of physics (at times annoying) side scrolling fantasy stuff with some RPG elements. A+. I bought this during holiday sale and it's the only game I've beaten yet. I played on easy mode and plowed through it, I think I put in 6 hours into it so def got my money's worth =D

Graphics are very nice and crisp, fun gameplay, and great production values. Plus there are steam achievements if that's you're thing =)

Isn't there a demo? I suggest trying it out first. Can't hurt, small d/l

well its what i would call a tactical fps.
you cant just run and gun and engagements are usually at a distance of 100mts or so.
also one bullet could kill you.
its probably as realistic as you can get.
i love it though. great pacing and nice missions. and the realism makes it v different from the rest. but guys used to a fast paced fps may find it a bit too frustrating.
best to read some reviews but thats what it is in essence. but for less than 8usd its a steal.

the graphics are great id say a little below mw2 in fidelity.
but you do have control of your squad and you do have limited ammo. you have heavy artillery or air strikes but you can usually use it only once. so timing is critical.
there are a few ai issues but i think ai here is vastly superior to many fps shooters out there.
believe me if you want a tactical shooter, this is it. and at 8usd you really cant go wrong.

Deus Ex? ? Good game but I played that maxed out on a G4 powermac clone and a Voodoo3 graphics card. Invisible war was meh though. I guess these are alright games if you want to max everything out on even antiquated integrated graphics, but I wonder if the games support wide screen laptop resolutions?
