A few quick questions:

1. Is this game still worth buying with the sequel coming out around the corner (i.e. next year)?
2. Are there any detriments with purchasing through Steam vs. retail?
3. I'm looking at buying the trilogy pack (the last one listed ^). Is there a better pack which includes the expansion as well? Is the expansion even worth getting when this pack already has quite a bit?

these couple hour deals are annoying. i would totally have bought several of these games. now i won't.

the episodes were only 25% off? kinda weak. not that i made it in time anyway, because the deals are stupidly short. my threshold to buy them was a lot lower though. i only payed about $7.50 for GTA4! Why would I pay over $20 for the episodes?

 

(I thought I'd posted a reply a few days ago but it's not there so maybe didn't submit.)

Was ready to buy the rockstar pack for 42.50 on Tuesday, could see it on the catalogue, etc. But the steam login webpage wasn't loading at all. So figured I'd buy it yesterday. But now it looks like it's not available for my region (the pack). I can still get Eps from Liberty City but not the pack. damn!

 

GTA San Andreas only $4.99!

 

1. I just bought it, and yes the game is still fun! Arenanet will still support the game for a while after GW2 is out as well. The game itself is very fun however.
2. You do not get the pretty artwork that comes with some of their retail boxes.
3. The expansion is not included in the trilogy pack. However Guild Wars (Prophecies) and the expansion "Eye of the North" are available together for $10 on Newegg. This should include a code that can be added to any account and allow access to expansion content. I haven't done that myself however...
4. I haven't read how long it is supposed to last, but I'd assume a week.

Yeah, I had a lot of problems with it giving me the "Your credentials have expired" popup... one of the devs I talked to said they are still messing with a lot of the backend servers.

Yeah, I couldn't log on to steam for couple of times after the new update. Now it seems fine, but it takes longer to log on, longer than before the update.

 

The Guild Wars Trilogy is only $20.00 right now on Steam.

Id get that if I was not tied up into other games, its the best free to play MMO in the world IMO.
