machinarium never hit the daily deals for christmas but I eventually bought it.

it's a good point and click adventure game. Not all that long though.

what are the chances of the Square Enix pack going down further? at the moment its at £67.49 and i am interested in : Scom 2, JC2 (and DLC), Hitman series, Deus Ex series and Batman - think that they are worth it? of course the pack has other games in it such as the Midway and Tomb Raider series but those above are the ones that i am most interested in - already spent £38 on these deals already!

I don't know what the U.K. prices are, but that package is quite aggressively priced - Steam lists the sum of individual prices as $586.84. On the other hand, the individual games you want would add to $170.85 - based on the U.S. price of $74.99, the package is already a 56% discount just counting the games you want.

It's not likely that the pack will be further discounted, but it's a possibility and I doubt the deal would be removed before the daily sales are over, so it probably wouldn't hurt to wait and see. It's also possible that the individual games in the pack could be at 75% off in the future; if you're completely sure that the rest of the games in the pack don't interest you, that could work better for you.

Deus Ex and its sequel have been at $2.50 (75% off) a couple of times in the past; I'm surprised you don't already have them. I've heard the sequel doesn't live up to the original's standard, though.

i wouldnt say dont interest me, well except for the Championship manager games (Football Manager FTW!) the rest i think i could play them, just that the ones listed above are the more interesting ones from the list ones like Thief, JC1, Shellshock 2, K&L and Denied Ops would be ones that i could play - had Thief and Shellshock 1 on console and loved them so could be higher up on the list then say K&L but if i got them then i would most likely atleast try them :)

There is that other pack that interests me as well, the 2k pack seems quite good as well and would be interested in Bioshock 1 and 2, Borderlands (and DLC) and the Civ4 pack but also at £69 not sure if its all worth it. Bioshock 1 and 2 would be just over £20, Borderlands and DLC would be like £15-£20 so maybe not the best deal

REALLY want the Empire Total War series to go down, so wonna get Empire and Nopoleon hoping that they drop with DLC to sub £20 :)

you are freaking kidding me right?
i would have so jumped on that (if it had Empire/Napoleon)
they better had do that deal again, the best i have seen is the £40 one without any of the Empire DLC or Nopoleon :(

Also can games on Steam use Mods? was looking at games like GTA 4, FM series and UT 3 - all of these can use mods to improve the game and i was wondering can they be used with Steam versions of the game?

Of course there are many other games that use mods so i guess overall is it possible?

With GTA4 wouldn't matter as that requries Windows Live and that won't allow for serious mods.

I bought the Total War Mega pack (all Total War games on Steam except Napoleon) at a 66% discount, which was 20.40 USD. You're probably referring to the same pack. Taking a quick look at the Metascores, though, Napoleon doesn't seem to be up to the standard of the previous games.

well. *shrugs* maybe there's a way to make 'em work if you pirate it or do something to GFWL. But otherwise no I don't think you can mod it too heavily.

look into it though, 'cause I dunno for sure.

Resident Evil 5 at $12.50 is the only one that stands out to me, of those. Galcon Fusion might be nice at $2.50 as well, though I don't know anything about it.

On a side note I have no idea whether that game is good, in fact I'm assuming its terrible.

Hmm, supposedly the old classic was quite a good game; it's the new one that is terrible. $1.25 is definitely a good price.

It's a good deal, but I already have the Dawn of War games which takes a lot of the value out for me. I'll probably wait until the last day of the daily sales before I give it serious consideration.

I can't believe I missed the Mass Effect deals... I really would like to pick up the game now, but I don't want to pay full price. Does anyone have any idea when EA would have a discount again on Steam?

    ... :mad2:

I'm not online for ONE DAY and I miss Bioshock 2, Unreal Pack, and Killing Floor. Well, I can always hope for them to repeat at the very end, right?

Still looking at those three, L4D 1 (played the second one but want the first for the story), Painkiller BE, The Witcher, Devil May Cry 4, and RE5.

On that note, would anyone recommend RE5 for someone who has NEVER played any of the RE games? I'm a pure PC gamer BTW...

I haven't played RE5 yet (though I did just pick it up from today's deal :D), but I did play RE4 without having every played any of the other RE games. I didn't find that I was missing out on much of anything at all, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. I'm guessing that RE5 would be no different.

I bought borderlands retail. It was/is a good game. Lots of fun playing it. Unfortunately, the DLCs are not available easily through retail. So I'll double-dip when it's on a better sale (like 75% off or something). And Borderlands retail can't be added as a Steam-game.

Late edit: Found this: https://digital.2kgames.com/ 2k digital store. Haven't tried it yet.

I used to play magic a lot like 15 years ago, i played it for years (from revised till 7th edition, including expantions from the dark up to alliances) then i sold all my cards. so now i bought this, and i must say that many ppl complain about it, but i think its really okay for a tenner. The single player computer AI is not really great, and you can only play premade decks (no own deck building) and you need to play a lot of single player to unlock the powerfull cards for each deck, when you have a deck completely unlocked you are ready for multiplayer versus, you can play 2 to 4 player matches online, and playing against humans is really fun, there's still some bugs in the game that will be fixed (according to the game rep in the steam forum). There is a free demo on steam, so be sure to check that out first.
Oh and in single player there are some challenges too, which take a lot of thinking (you are given a situation and you need to finish the game in that turn). Those are pretty awesome as well (unless you read on cheat forums how to do them)

i'd give the game a 65% score (could go up to 75% if some niggles are fixed/features added)
but for ten bucks, its really okay

already played 22 hrs in 10 days time, so it isn't that bad

Man borderlands was too short and repetitive. It had potential to do soo much more, be more mmo and less WOW if you know what im saying. It was all these mundaine go collect this go kill 15 of these, kill the boss of the area, what is this everquest online. I wanted some more story , they could have made it this huge elaborate treasure chase, but they ended up dumbing it down to nothing. Tis a pitty theres really no good PVE mmofps out there, what ever happened to huxely?

Left 4 Dead 2 is at $10.20, that's being listed as a daily deal in Steam for me instead of HL1.

Except for Audiosurf and HL1 which I already have, the only one of interest to me is Company of Heroes, and the discount there isn't large enough for me.
