    Me: "I kind of want L4D2, but I don't know about $20. Shame it's not $10 or $15."
Launch Steam today: "Left 4 Dead 2 for $10!" *trollface*
Me: " Get out of my head Gabe!"

Same thing happened with me on Dirt 2. I was talking to my friend about getting it but being too expensive one day. Then the next day it was 75% off.

Just when I'm considering just jumping on it... hopefully this is in preparation of it being a daily deal? Cut the regular discount so the daily discount seems like a good deal. Eh, I'm probably dreaming again.

    Why can't it be L4D 1 that's $10? :(

Has Global Agenda already been one of the daily deals? It is currently $26.79 and I don't want to buy it now if there is a chance of the price going lower in a daily deal.

Does anybody have any experience with the offline mode in Steam? I know you have to follow this process ( https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3160-AGCB-2555), but it says to load up the Offline mode you have to connect to the internet first.

However, say you are on an airplane with no WiFi and you need to reboot/shutdown your computer (for some odd reason, or to conserve energy). Will the Offline Mode stay in place or do you have to repeat the above process to access it again?

You have to select to go to offline mode. Once in offline Steam will always start offiline. To go online again you have to start steam (offline, of course) and select to go online (same place where you selected before to go offline).

    I hope this helps.

How does that work? If I purchase EVE now, does the clock start ticking right away? Or does the game time only start counting down during play?

Yeah, I'm just hoping it might get reduced further since it's older than its sequel. I'm just being cheap as I'm sure it's well worth the current price.

In other news, another day goes by with no daily deals I'm interested in. Back to the waiting game for tomorrow's deals...

I'm hoping Battlefield 2 will make it on sale again, missed it on EA sale day. Kinda suprised it's $30 on steam as you can buy it for $9 in store here in Canada, just having it on steam would be easier to do install and upgrades.

i like this so far a lot. it's kind of like Steam has two big sales every year: the christmas sale and then, conveniently 6-ish months later, another one.

The one on Steam is the "complete" package which includes Special Forces, the ones you'll see in-store are likely just BF2. IMO SF is not worth the additional $20, but the lowest I've seen it go on sale is $12 (at which point I got several copies).
