Heck, I have the 9800m GT and have that issue. I bought it back when it was $7.50 during the Christmas sales but haven't put much time into it because of the choppiness. Or rather, the choppiness at the higher graphic settings. I just can't play a game like that without shadows and the like; for me it detracts substantially from the game. Ah well. I did pick up Street Fighter IV off of this one, though.

Shatter and Torchlight seem like good pickups. I would pick up Mass Effect 2, but for $23, no thanks.

I'm wondering, let's say I want to buy Mass Effect 2. It's $23.99. I live in Canada, and when I buy games from stores, I pay a tax. Is the price on Steam including tax, or will they charge me the tax after that price? Anyone in Canada have any experience?

SWEET!!!!!11!!!!!11 Bought. :D Patience pays off with Steam.

I can vouch for Torchlight (I bought it a few months ago at this price). My first dungeon crawler (never played the Diablo games), and it turned out to be quite a lot of fun, especially for $5.

I've bought enough games via steam with paypal to safely tell you there is no tax charged. Can't say about buying with a CC, but I don't see why it'd be any different.

Another day of meh deals too :/

Washington state residents are charged tax because Valve (the company in charge of Steam) is based in Seattle. You shouldn't have to pay tax, but go and try to add a game to your cart and check out.

Just got shatter since you recommended it, my favorite game on Atari in the day was Breakout :D

Also do not know if its part of the current sales but I saw defense grid is 50% off so its $5.00 and that is a game I wanted for a while. TD is a lot of fun and DG can hold me over till SC2 comes out.

    Grabbing Torchlight for sure

Missed it twice, saw a friend playing it (dirty pirate -__-), so I am going to get this for sure

Never played any dungeon crawlers but its gotten nothing but positive reviews

    Just looked at shatter
    OMG - I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE BRICK BREAKER GAMES :D :D :D :D
And this looks good, I used to play arkanoid so much on this controller that plugged directly into the tv back in the good old days
Must buy also, and 2.50 is literally stealing from the devs, from what I see of the gameplay vids

    2 games I will pick up :D

I love valve's sense of humor

No, I'm mostly likely going to get one of those pre-paid credit cards from my dad, you that have like a 100$ limit, so I can just use it whenever I want :D :D

I'll probably make a paypal account once I go to uni

And yeah, I'm also hoping for a deal on Arkham Asylum, the demo was great

Arkham deal would be nice; but the one I'm really waiting on is a Borderlands deal. I've got a group that plays together frequently, and if we could all pick that up cheaply it'd be like Christmas. Technically the four pack is $16 a person; but I'm holding out for a deal like the L4D2 four-pack we just picked up which came out to $7.60 a person :D

Yeah i am kinda interested in Borderlands, maybe would be tempted if it were under £10 with all expansion packs :) seems unlikely to me :(

I am grabbing $5 Bioshock, and gunna grab Madballs (possibly the 4-pack for $5.99 so I can be done with X-mas shopping!!)

There's not much of a RPG element to it at all. More like a XP purchase and loadout system.

I'm also debating it. Already beat it on a console, and wasn't blow away by the story. Are the GFX on PC worth it, or is it starting to show its age?

I played BioShock in my *cough* not so legit *cough* days
Great game, been looking for it but had no luck locally

It was on sale a few months back but unavailable in my region
Seems the restriction has been lifted and I can now buy it :D :D

Haha, I too played it in my not so legit days, however I quickly canned it because of the crazy notion of not being able to change the key-bindings !!

I'm a left-handed mouse user (but I'm right handed ... I know ... I'm weird) and therefore I don't use the common WASD controls, and normally use IJKL.

Bioshock wouldn't let my change the keys :(

I picked up Shatter for $2.50 and it's a very cool version of Pong. I'm also contemplating Left 4 Dead GOY for under $7. I recently picked up L4D2 for $10 when it was on sale.

There aren't "Mods" for Bioshock so much as there are "tweaks." No SDK was ever released, so the most people can do is change the values for what's already in the game. There could be more out there, but all I've ever found are mods to make the game harder/more balanced (depending on your point of view, heh). Still a great game, though.

Puzzle Kingdoms $1.00 lol so I got it, heard good things about it before.

Also Bionic Commando Rearmed $6.50 have no idea if its good or not, I watched the trailer for it and it hooked me and so I bought it on impulse since I loved that game back in the day as a kid.

IDK about Bionic Commando Rearmed but I did enjoy the original back in the NES days...

Also on a side note my B-day is this week and I'm really treating myself this year. So far I got L4D2 and Bioshock for a wopping grand total of like $15 :) and I can wait to see what else pops up in the next few days.... Now if I could just get some time to play

finally installed Just Cause 2, Max settings on EVERYTHING max res as well 2xxx by 15xx forget exact numbers :) and it runs PERFECT! Good so far, tried one of the take over missions and the AI is beyond poor - who the hell just stands there and allows them selves to get shot and die?

I have it on hardest level difficulty as well, which is good so far good - hoping that that poor AI doesnt continue

VERY tempted by Borderlands and DLC for a total of like £12 - but heard both good things and bad things about it so not too sure
