Hmmm... How is Borderlands? For $7.64 (4-pack) it doesn't seem bad.

I'd say get it only if you have friends to play with, otherwise, it's really boring play by yourself. Borderlands is really a coop game, you will get better weapons, shields, etc, and enemies are tougher if you play coop.

Borderlands is really good, but don't expect a story. It's all about guns guns and more guns, loot, and XP. Pure shooter with a little collection, and coop. Fun stuff if you have friends to play with, but playing alone is kinda pointless.

Crysis is 14.99, but you can get the Crysis Pack (includes Warhead) for $19.99. Non sale pack is reg $40, games individually are reg $50 for both.

So, is Crysis worth it? Last game I played by Crytek was Far Cry 1 back in the day.

I got the Crysis pack (Crysis, Warhead, Wars) for something like $13 during the Christmas sale. It was the best $13 I ever spent on games. I think Crysis Wars is really fun.

Yea i ran borderlands at max settings 1080p on a gtx 260m, so you shouldn't have a problem. Also its a great game, and had lots of fun, and the co-op is excellent with 4 people, it becomes way more difficult to kill stuff.

I just payed 6.80 for DoD source yesterday or the day before and they just added it randomly to the list for 3.50. ARGGGGH! Just angry because I only played 45 minutes of it and really could have waited.

I surprised crsysis so much compared to gta 4. You would think it would be even cheaper. Obviously both games are having trouble selling because people cant run the game nicely?

I would get crysis if it was more like 15$ for both games. The price just seems too high for how old of a game it is.

Oh damn that sucks. :( Anywho.. I just installed Borderlands and it's pretty laggy. I expected my laptop to run it at max setting at 60 FPS constant but I'm getting around 40 or so. I'm guessing this game doesn't utilize Crossfire/SLI mode?

Since when is 40 fps laggy? I'm running Dirt 2 on the highest settings and getting 29 fps average which looks perfectly smooth.

Haha I guess but I expected more out of this laptop since I spent so much money on it. I take the 40 FPS back, it's usually at 60+ but dips around 40-50 when I'm looking at small villages. I'm guessing it's because of the huge map.

So I just played borderlands single player on friends laptop (my friend does not have his own internet connection). I liked the style, gameplay, and graphics. However there does not seem to be any story cutscnes after the main ones at the start, and the quests are given silently, which is kind of lame. Do you guys think its worth the 11 bucks? I have no friends that can play with me. Can I just play online with random strangers like L4D (which I love to do).

I'll put it this way. It has no story and it has no cut-scenes; but it does have that same "distilled crack" quality that the old Diablo games had. I believe it has been described before as "Diablo for the FPS generation" and I'd say that is a very fair description. You really stop caring about story and play it just for the gameplay itself. It's quite excellent.

I went ahead and bought it, I mean 10 bucks!!! Its kind of calming to play single player because of the simple objectives and storyline, not much pressure to stay alive. I stayed clear of this game for so long because of the art style/enimies. However the presentation, comical elements, and of course the amazing gameplay makes up for any issue I had with it. It runs relativly well On my i5 17" MBP I am running with all the settings cranked up @ 1920 x 1200. I even turned on vysnc in the config file. However dynamic shadows and AA(AF was fine) killed the frame rate! So I took those off. Now I am 20-30 Fps which is alright, but I might turn some things down to get that 30+.

This is very surprising, I have played borderlands on a gtx 260m at 1080p and full details and i regularly got 40-50 fps, so unless your doing something i didn't, you should be able to obliterate 50 fps. I didn't use AA of AF and like one other thing, seeing how its really not necessary, maybe that helps you out.

Yea me and my buddy started playing borderlands and it is pretty fun. The game runs smooth on my laptop and it looks great for being an unreal 3 engine. I also bought the DLC general knoxx since I heard that was the best one.

So I found out the problem was Dynamic Shadow. Once I turn it off, constant max 62 FPS no matter where I go. Once I turn it on.. it drops to about 40ish. I read somewhere that ATI's are pretty weak against shadow focusing games. That and this game seems to be optimized for Nvidia cards. I also can't update to 10.6 due to some issues with Dell and ATI. Waiting for 10.7 and hopefully that driver will fix this issue. Oh well now I can play this game without any lag whatsoever. :D

So we still have one more day of deals. I'm hoping that Mount and Blade: Warband gets cheaper tomorrow. Either way, I'm going to buy it.

I'm on the fence on Bad Company 2. I used to play the 1942 series and Battlefield 2 years ago. Would it be worth buying?

I'm hoping for Warband too, at 9.99-ish.
Avoid BC2 at all costs. If you were a CoD player, I might have said yes, but as a BF2 player myself, BF:BC2 is surely a let down. BC has always been a watered-down version of Battlefield for the consoles. If you want to play a battlefield game without full-scale maps and vehicles, I'd say just play BF2 on an infantry-only server.

I see a couple of good games but definitely too high for a sale. I haven't bought anything yet so I'm hoping the final day will bring some new games and at least a repeat of the past deals, because now I feel I should have bought L4D2. It's the only game that interests me, and at $7.60 it was a good deal. If it does happen I hope someone creates a 4-pack buy, then I'm in.

Anyway, how is Devil May Cry 4?

nostalgia is a funny thing. Couldn't disagree more.

The classes and weapons are great, limited vehical respawns forces mainly infantry action like it should. GFX is great, and the totally destructible enviorments really open up new gameplay options.

I'd say it's worth every penny, and much, much better then MW's dated look and arcade feel.

I'm glad Steam had a MW2 multi-player trial. If it weren't for that I would still be wishing for a sale. I didn't like it at all, but I do hear the single player story is nice. If MW2 is $10, then I will get it, otherwise I'd rather get CoD4 or BC2.

What do you mean "nostalgia"? I and many others play BF2 to this day. You're selling BC2 from a MW perspective, which I already stated is fine but less relevant, since from a 1942/BF2 perspective it's watered-down.

    I'll give you BF2, but 42'? Really?

From my memory BFBC2 is more like 42, which wasn't a bad thing IMO. Still, while it isn't BF2, it's much better then the other dreck out there, and it's as good as you'lll get till we see a true BF2 sequil.
