No since the current deals are the last for the sale, from what we know![]()

yeah i missed Bioshock as well, would have grabbed the second if i managed to get the first but hey i think i have too many games as it is

I think that if steam does more deals like this they can end piracy on the pc. If steam plays it smart they can control the PC market entirely and set their platform up as fourth console almost. Its funny funny because I used to be obsessed with owning games on disc, but now I think digital downloads are really the future. Most people would not want to bother with that piracy if older games were under $10 and new games were nicely discounted. Im off to play my new game collection...
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
I agree, i do feel that some games on it are a bit too expensive considering that you are not paying for the disc or anything but if they keep doing deals like this, not just 1 or 2 a yeah but say every quarter for a couple of days as well as the Packs some of which are great priced - others are meh though then they could very well help it, i think some people will still do it for the simple fact that they can but i think more will say :
hey they are not as expensive now, £10/$10 a game - cant complain at that
then they could do very well -
Excellent points !
I have been buying all of my PC games from either STEAM or GOG.com and if they are not sold by those two I go straight to the publisher. I also love the idea that I can create my own library with STEAM and have access to it whenever I want with no overbearing DRM. -
Just to note: the sale doth ended.
Nooooooooo!!! -
Just to let you know I pushed the Noooooooooooo button, LOL.
-
lol me too at the noooo button, just bought BFBC2 off steam, anyone want to play sometime?
-
so i bought left4dead 2 and the witcher (to support projektred and their take on drm). I think many people here bought left4dead, so, what about a nbr group or something like that? or does it already exist?

other stuff that was on sale a week or two or four before the summer sale
Code:Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge Pre-Order The Deus Ex Collection Mass Effect 2 Mirror's Edge Dead Space Oblivion Game of the Year Deluxe
total: $174.74
Steeeeaaaaammmm!!!!! -
I am living proof of this
I live in Saudi Arabia, and they have no copyright laws at all.
There is one shop here that sells original games, and 500+ that sell pirated copies for around 10-20SR (2.6-5$)
The one store that sells games never drops prices, CSS is still 50$ when you change to USD
Anyway, long story short thanks to steam, and that shop finally reducing their prices every now and then, I am now legit, and have bought back almost all the games I played back in those days
I love the NO button, use it all the time
See :
-
so i just created the steam group.
the group is public, anyone can join.
Group Link: Steam Community :: Group :: NBR L4D Team
i still have to put more info and pics and things like that.
cheers. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
yay im the 3rd ever member
-
LOL, I felt like Homer Simpson. Gee a blue button, I wonder what this does? Doh !
-
Well my spree wasn't so bad but had a little punch on the credit card:
~Borderlands and 2 DLC's
~Dragon Age: Origins
~L4D2
~Oddworld Bundle
~Red Faction: Guerrilla
~Titan Quest bundle
total was a little less than $60, which is the price of a new game nowadays and for that price i got a whole summer's worth of virtual fun. and a good friend of mine got BFBC2, which i already had, so my gaming bug is satisfied for now -
I didn't quite sustain as much damage as I was expecting, but here's the hits I took:
L4D1 $7
Resident Evil 5 $12.50
Killing Floor $5
Bioshock 1 $5
Bioshock 2 $15
Devil May Cry 4 $7.50
Total from Summer Sales: $52
Previous Couple Months from Steam:
Morrowind GotY $5
Oblivion GotY $8.50
Batman AA GotY $20
Burnout Paradise $7.50
DoW II Deluxe $20
Mirror's Edge $5
Mass Effect 2 Deluxe $36
Total: $102
On second though, maybe it has been pretty damaging...
These sales really add up fast. I shouldn't even be buying a lot as I'm planning on buying a new laptop and building a desktop within the next couple months, so I'm just preparing for the future. Yeah, that's it...
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i have spent about £110
NecroVision
Cryostasis
Fuel
Witcher Enhanced DC
Stalker : Clear Sky
total for that i think was about
THQ Pack, great was
Square Pack, most expensive at
so total is about : £111 -
All of those games are great. Did you get Necrovision's stand alone expansion Lost Company? It is even better than the first.
-
Good for you for going legit in a place where it seems difficult to do so.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i SO wanted to get Lost Company as well but didnt know it was on sale
think i might have a look and pick it up anyway
-
im waiting for wings of prey to go on sale...
-
I have about 6 or 7 Mods I regularly use with GTA IV including the Episodes from liberty city content. Mods work on Steam and the standard version.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
if i knew that a few days ago i would have purchased it
-
GTA IV is my favorite game out of all that I own. It is well worth purchasing at some other time but only if your rig can handle it. I found stuttering with that game even on a 3.06 Ghz Dual Core i7 620M unless I used very low settings but with my mobile i7 820qm Quad, I have no such issues. I am not too keen on Steam versions because you might find yourself unable to use older patches which can be useful at times.
-
Yeah, GTA4 is one of the few games that needs a quad to run well. Got any mod recommendations for it?
-
I recommend the gangwar / relationships Mod and Realizm IV 6.2. Check the GTA SP modding thread in my sig for all of the other examples.
I thought GTA IV was always really cheap on Steam, ArmageddonAsh made it sound like he missed a sale of it or something. -
It was on sale for 5$ during the summer sale, thats why he feels bad for missing it
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i Did! it was on sale for £4.99 - now its back up to £19.99
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
How do you think my desktop setup would be able to handle it? -
I didn't do too bad so far. $4.50 for operation flashpoint: Dragon Rising and it's currently my favorite game. Multiplayer don't work with windows 7 64 for some reason so I had to use Vista 64 instead.
Multiplayer however sucks, because no dedicated servers or p2p system...+ being hosted by a guy with 512kb upload at times is horrid. Overall it's still a very good game, but I think Codemasters could of made this game so much better. I like how you can't snipe a guy across the map with a pistol like you could in MW2, lol. You could also change fire modes, go to prone, give orders to individual players or the whole squad, and the maps are big. These details is what makes this game better than the cod/bf games to me.
Campaign mode is where it's at. It's tough on Hardcore and the fact that you can't take on a few squads by yourself...and having to rely on your team...is what makes this style of game better. Also there is a community that made an auto downloader, where it will auto download maps and more missions that the community makes:
AutoDownload Support Achieved - Codemasters Forums
It's pretty cool. What's sad is that this game could of been so much better if codemasters fixed the multiplayer aspect. -
I just got L4D2 for 10.99$ the other day, it was great.
Hoping to see more crazy deals. -
No idea, I don't know anything about AMD chips. I do know that it seems to prefer Nvidia GPU's though. The laptop you are selling should play it very well though. Ask here, they will know.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
if the Laptop can play it "very well" then my desktop should have no problem, shame that i didnt pick it up during the sales, now i am not going to buy it until its on sale for £4.99 or less!
-

ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan

i would tell you the british prices crash but i'm in spain so get the euro prices show up :S

Is RUSE actually good enough that it's worth the draconian DRM? ._. I've been thinking to get it but that "Permanent Internet connection" requirement is a huge thumbs down for me :/
Had that same DRM for Tiberium Twilight and never liked it a single bit >:[ -
imho no game is worth that drm
-
Hey guys, just loaded up Steam to find "Medal of Honor Beta" in my Library of games (not installed). About to download it to see if it works. Strange I did not get a notice of a free weekend or anything like that. Just thought I'd post a heads up.
-
Yea I think the beta just probably went public. I too am downloading it!
-
I finished downloading it and tried it out. It accepted the beta key Steam gave me. All servers were empty, and I was unable to join any of them. It didn't give me any error message. I selected a server, hit join, but nothing happened. I'm guessing the beta servers need to be 'activated' or something?
-
I join just fine. I just selected server close to me and did not display any empty ones. It does feel a lot like Bad Company 2 with MW, but more in a simulation aspect, kind of like insurgency. I was use to the controls of BC2 so my gameplay was a little messy at first. After awhile I got the hang of it and start pwning. I only play the team objective and it was fun. The graphics look nice.
-
Yeah, I can join a server now by using the play now function. I just crashed to desktop though
. No SLi support at the moment, so I'm running everything on low/medium (plus it's beta). Gonna try again.

I always like free stuff. Not as epic as free Portal, but nice nontheless.
