I've been on steam since it was released an dthe only problem that I ever experienced was that there should be more games on it :D
I honestly never had any problems with it, and I think the service is phenomenal idea for your own library.

I was opposed to steam in theory, but then I tried it and now I'm not looking back. I'll buy any game on Steam rather than retail, it makes everything more simple. After trying Direct2Drive (eww at activation system) and Gamersgate (give it a whirl, its nice), I must say Gamersgate is my favorite for single player games while Steam is my favorite for community oriented games. Why people (especially the Civilization V community) are so upset is understandable but it certainly isn't the apocalypse.

Back to game deals, anyone else going to pick up Recettear before its sale is over?

Why is the civ 5 community upset over it being on steam..?

I haven't had to go to a bestbuy to browse games (that may not even be there) since I moved over to steam, AND I can look at reviews and junk before I decide on a purchase. That alone is worth the unobtrusive "DRM" that steam packs, I really don't see the downside to steam...

I actually pay more for games on steam then in big stores or online. I'd rather pay $5 or $10 more and have everything under one program, then to save $5 and worry about scratched cd's and big ammount of boxes from games.

Yea its buggy, but once you are able to run it the game becomes fun. It has its moments and not so good ones as well. Also, have fun download 30gb and most of the data is useless because its multi language.

I bought it as a "play it sometime later" thing. I don't even plan to install it any time soon. Will wait for a trip to some high-bandwidth place...or by December 2011, whichever comes first :)

The other Star Wars games I might steam-buy are:
. Dark Forces II, Jedi Outcast - because I enjoyed Dark Forces (the first one) when I played it ~13 yrs ago. But didn't look into it's sequels. And considering the release dates, I'll probably go just for Jedi Outcast.
. Starfighter - since I need a "TIE Fighter"-type SW game, didn't do X-wing and X-wing vs TIE Fighter, etc. and have an xbox360 controller.

I consider anything less than the cost of a Monster Drink a "must buy". It practically feels like stealing at this price. And yes the Force Unleashed games are huge, thanks to their full HD cutscenes.

haha i bought these as soon as they came out. a game i used to play oh so long ago, took me ages back then... no internet to help for hints/walkthroughs... it really was an epic adventure. i love how you can switch between the "modern" and the "original" graphics/sounds.

Team Fortress 2 is 50% off until Monday. $9.99

I was hoping for a 75% off deal since it's an old game, but I guess it is pretty massive with all the updates. And it does looks fun. It seems to be very popular too.

omg, soo i tried to login to steam the other day (its been a few months) and I forgot my password so I did the forgot password process. well, i did it and all I get is this confirmation code and a "secret question" generated by steam that I cannot answer. it asks for "What password did Steam last set your password to?"

Like hell if I know (it was a random string of letters/digits), and I deleted that email a loooong time ago

this is stupid, when did steam add this nonsense of security.
