Well, Steam just put up L4D, and L4D2 at 66% off or $6.79 each. The Left 4 Dead Bundle is now $10.19 (also 66% off).
Seems like a nice move since the add-ons come out today.
-
I bought L4D 2 since i didnt have it
-
I was having some problems accessing my account a few months ago. I messaged steam and they got back to me iwithin an hour and fixed my problem.
-
just bought the L4D Bundle for $10. Don't have either one of those games lol... good looking out
-
I just bought the L4D bundle! ^_^ I'm probably going to get in trouble for using some of what little money I have on a game rather than my college supplies, but I don't think there's ever going to be another deal this good. lol
-
Should I get the L4D or just L4D2?
-
Both! I like the characters more in left 4 dead 1, but they are both fun zombies games.
-
I second this. $10 for both is way too good to pass up.
-
it says co op in the description. does it have to be played co op?
-
Not at all, but it is WAY more fun when the other characters are controlled by people instead of the AI (which can sometimes be a pain in the ). To this purpose, you could join the NBR L4D group found here:
Steam Community :: Group :: NBR L4D Team
I haven't had the chance to play with anyone from NBR as I've have exams/projects/papers every week for the past month (*sigh*), but you could likely poke people who are online and find someone to join you.
Cheers. -
No, but it's way better playing with people online. The single player campaign isn't too fun because the bots suck.
-
alright. so how does L4D2 compare to other valve games like HL2 or Portal?
-
The L4D series is dramatically different from either of those games as it is intended more as an adrenaline rush type of game rather than the story driven HL series or the short, all-around awesomeness that is Portal. Instead of any real story (there is one, it's just not very prominent in comparison to other things), you have a survival story about a team of survivors who work as a team to survive the zombie horde (plus some "special infected" added to the mix to make life interesting), signaling a rescue, then making it to said rescue, leaving a trail of zombie bodies behind them from all manner of weapons.
-
You can get really cheap Steam games from retail these days:
Shiny Hacks: Ultimate List Of Steam Serial Keys From Retail. Most keys bought from retail boxes are much cheaper than buying directly from the Steam Store (except when they have their own sales like this awesome sale for L4D 1&2!) -
Sweet.
Just picked up Left 4 Dead 2 for the $7 bucks.
I was wanting to get this game too, but didn't really want to fork over $20 bucks because I felt it should of been an add-on to Left 4 Dead. But hey, you can't argue with only $7 for a game.
I'm in the NBR steam group "xTank_Jones16x", so if you see me on it, send me an invite. -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Until Pitabred shoots you with a grenade launcher. Yes, Pita, I still remember that.
Let me go back to grumbling. -
Holy.....CRAP!
I finally got done downloading it, and decided to play a game before bed.
First one I found was the new map (I forgot the name). The one with the old L4D characters.
Now THAT was fun. First time playing it, and I got in a game with some cool guys, we had a blast. The ending was NUTS!
Best $7 I've ever spent. And I've only played 1 map, lol. -
The low prices are killing me
Bought so many games this last month
-
Picked up a copy last night, hopefully my dv6tse can hold up to its awesomeness!!
-
bought it last night. after 8 hours of downloading, it's ALMOST halfway done. i need faster internet.
-
Runs great on mine. Seems to be locked at 60 FPS max for some odd reason, though...
-
That would be the max refresh rate of your screen.
-
Under advanced video settings, disable the vertical sync to get as many frames as you can get.
That has nothing to do with it... -
How does one tell the FPS?
-
Some games have a feature implemented within the game itself (if the right command is called/right buttons pressed) like Starcraft 2 and Oblivion. Otherwise, the most commonly used program is FRAPS, the trial version of which is perfectly suited if you want to just see your fps.
-
Ah I see. LFD2 runs great on my dv6 I just wasn't sure if it had a built in FPS command. I'll download FRAPS for fun and see how it goes.
-
you have to enable the developers console and then type in net_graph 1-3 gives data in different ways. Like fps, latency and such.
-
Call of Duty: Modern Cheatfare 2
33% off for the first time ever!! Hurry up and you can get the game for $42, and each DLC for $7.50 each!! -
Killing Floor 50% Off!! $9.99 for US
All the DLC is on sale too, so they have a combo: Killing Floor + 2 DLC's for $12.98 USD -
That wouldn't explain why other games can show far higher frame rates...
But that would.
So long as it's above 30, though, it really doesn't matter to me.
-
Yeah I know man, only $42... after the savings...
I'll just stick to my 2 free L4D2 campaigns that just came out.
Also, how is Killing Floor? I'll give it a shot if people here think it's solid. And the multi-player? -
just wanted to point out that while there is a slight performance hit for minimum fps, vsync is usually a good thing, it stops the tear effect often seen in scenes with a high amount of motion (such as turning quickly in an fps).
and yes these sales are killing me as well, could not resist the killing floor bundle for $12 -
COD:MW2 is now 33% off. if anyone wanted to know.
-
looking for a copy of l4d1 if anyone has one.
-
You really should have jumped on the 66% off deal earlier this week...
-
I'm pretty happy, I can max out LFD2 on my HP dv6tse, frames per second are hitting near 60 and bouncing.
-
I wish Steam would put some racing games on sale. I'd like to add Blur, Shift and Split/Second to my collection - but I want them cheap LOL.
Is it too soon for a Christmas sale.
-

i bought men of war
-
how is it?
-
Bought MoH. I'm a WWII nerd, so I'm a sucker for anything in that genre. I remember playing the demo on my old comp and being completely underwhelmed, hopefully that was due to technical limitations. For $4 you can't go wrong. I'll give it a spin later tonight.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition
66% off at $13.60
I might pick this one up. -
I was about to bite on that Batman game but I am not too crazy about it. I just find it "meh"
-
Already own Batman AA and very highly recommend it. But the current version on sale has Securom with 4 activations...is that how all GOTY copies are?
-
Batman AA is an awesome game, for that price it is highly recommended.
-
Apparently that is not the case but if it is, I hear all activations are reset back to 4 monthly.
-
Yeah, agree to the max.
