TBH you don't need the previous games to enjoy the new one. Also I'm not sure what you mean by the deal and gifting?

Yeah, I'm debating the Witcher for $5. Hard to say no to that. On another note, is the X-Com series a good deal for $8. I'm willing to try it, but the graphics of the first game look very rough. Does the story/gameplay make up for this?

Always heard good things about Xcom, and as far as graphics, I played Starcraft up until SC II came out, so... ;-)

As for the Witcher, that director's cut supposedly fixed a lot of issues with the first one.

Can you move and shoot at the same time yet?

That alone kept me from enjoying RE4 and made me wary of RE5

You can't move and shoot at the same time, that's not how RE games work. if you don't like that you will not enjoy the game.

The game is not supposed to be another run and gun mindless zombie shooter.

Sadly their is no story in the X-coms, the premise is basically earth is under attack from aliens defend it..

The game comes into its own for base building and squad management, the sheer amount of customizations from buying your researchers to having to sell looted equipment to kitting out your squad.

Its worth the price if you can get past the GFX and the insanely steep learning curve.

I just bought the Codemasters racing pack, as well as Black Ops. Activision annoys me. All the other publishers have great sales and they don't even drop the prices on their older games. I'm willing to pay the $60 this time since Black Ops actually has dedicated servers though.

Burnout Paradise Ultimate for $5 is an awesome deal. I would have jumped on it if not for already owning it on the PS3. And disregard my pic of the little piggy crying we we we all the way home.

I was looking at the gothic package(games 1,2,3, and 4) and I must say I was rather unimpressed with reviews, thought it appears gothic 2 seens to be the best of the franchise(good reviews only), and its only 5 bux right now..

No, Burnout Paradise. It took just over two hours when it should have taken less than one hour. BC2 wasn't any better yesterday, though. It should have taken under two hours to download, but ended up taking exactly 4.

SMB is fun, its just so ridiculously hard to 100%

Im a completest/perfectionist so instead of just beating a stage and moving on I am getting all bandages and a A+ on each stage before I move on to the next. So I am just now starting the dark world for the Hospital (world 2)

I have nightmares of what is to come... I have seen youtube videos of later stages in the game and I just dont think I have the stuff required to do it.

SMB is awesome though, it should be like required testing for anger management classes. If you can keep your cool you passed :D

Hoping they throw out a discount on the Vietnam expansion at some point, if not think I will pick it up after the sales are over.

(of course to have it go on sale like a week later after I buy it...)

Something else great about these sales, is that if you already own a game you can go back and play it and there will be a huge influx of new players. Happens all the time with l4d2...
