Wings of Prey more than worth $6. Pick it up even if you have a slight interest in air combat games.

I was going to buy it even though I already own it on the X360. I was tempted at the price but wanted to buy it for the add-on pack which is more expensive than WoP.

I prefer games like Warhawk back on the PS1 days, but I got it anyways. It works in eyefinity so that alone is usually enough for me to get a game.

Speaking of that, we gotta get some DogFigher games in.

I'll play with you if we can ever find the time.

Only if you have Fallout 3. I own Fallout 3 retail, but you can't register FO3 retail with Steam, so it's only 40% off. :(

I may just buy it. I've been wanting to play it.

    But should I get FO:NV or DA:O???

The FO:NV looks interesting for those that were waiting for it. It's not my kind of game unfortunately. CSS is at $4.99. Quick, somebody hold a contest! :D

Edit: Also I see Battlefield 2 Complete on sale. BC2 was on sale before too. Perhaps we will also see a (small) discount on Vietnam?

Is BC2 worth it, does any one still play multiplayer? How active is it compared to CS:S?

    Hmm, they're both $5.

BC2 is more than worth it IMHO. Very active community and there's the Vietnam pack now too.

edit: Oh you meant BF2. Yes it still has a pretty active community... I have almost 700 hours with that game!

They are not both $5. The one on sale today is Battlefield 2. Battlefield 2: Bad Company is a different game. The latter is the one htwingnut is refering to that has the Vietnam expansion. I got BC2 a couple of weeks ago, and it is the best shooter I have ever played. Crysis Wars used to hold that spot in my list :)

Anyway, I can't comment on Battlefield 2 as I've never played it.

Edit: There you go, htwingnut has 700 hours. Then it must be good.

OK here's a weird one. I bought Wings of Prey and the DLC for a total of $13.49 so I check my Steam Games Library and all it shows is Wings of Prey and the DLC will cost me another $7.49

I'm in the process of installing L4D2 and still have a ways to go. Do I need to first install Wings of Prey before the Add-On shows up in my purchased queue? Not sure how this works.

Also hoping BC2 Vietnam goes on sale; otherwise I'll get it with money I get for my birthday.

I meant BF2, for some reason I confuse BC2 and BF2. I have BFBC2 already, I enjoy it but I cannot play it on my laptop very well, so I'm looking for a slightly less intensive game to play.

BF2 is a great game. Graphics are rather dated, but the nice part about that is it should be able to play smoothly on most "modern" laptops without any problems. Used to play it all the time. Flying jets is incredibly fun.

This is actually my first Steam year (not counting TF2 a couple of years back). My god, I've never gotten this many games in such a short time in my entire life! I'll probably have enough to last me a year at this rate, which is a problem since I'm in college, I want a few games for PC, 360, DS, and Wii next year, and I want to get the 3DS. By the time I'm halfway done with everything, there'll be another sale! :D Those guys at Valve are evil geniuses.

Yes, I believe Valve stated the stats with these super sales, that they actually make more money selling things at 50-75% off than they do ever at full price. Granted, they have to have the sales to make it a "good deal" otherwise if they were always that cheap, people would hesitate to buy like they do at full retail pricing.

Now you can understand how so many people have such a vast library of games after being with Steam the last few years....

If you think Valve or anyone involved in this sale is losing money:

Left 4 Dead sees 3000% jump in sales on Steam

10 percent sale = 35 percent increase in sales
25 percent sale = 245 percent increase in sales
50 percent sale = 320 percent increase in sales
75 sale sale = 1470 percent increase in sales

when you install wop the dlc, wol, is already part of it.
when you play the game and choose the new missions for the dlc it will prompt you to activate the dlc. it takes you back to desktop and you enter the key in youplays window.
you will not see the dlc in your steam list.

edit: its the best looking game ive played on my laptop

If you want to play a sandbox game, try just cause 2. I think one downside of JC2 is vehicle control. For some reason it's really hard to maneuver in cars.

Wish Borderlands was cheaper. Already have it in hard-copy, but want it digital. Price on steam is like £20 here, and if you buy the hard-copy off amazon you get the Game-of-the-Year Edition for like £9 :p

I was hoping for a bigger Civ 5 deal. :/ Well, I would have bought it at full price if it were to never go on sale, so I can deal with it. Might pick up Batman AA as well.

Still, Steam saved some great deals for today.
