I'll pass on Civ 5 for now since what i've read it clearly isn't finished. Will wait for the Complete Edition instead, still have Civ IV Complete.

I scooped up the Monkey Island Complete Pack for $3.75 since it comes with Monkey Island 2 LeChuck's Revenge.

 

Just bought Batman AA. I don't think it'll be cheaper than this in a long time.

Thinking about one of the Flatout games. Which is reccomended??

Steam / Settings / Download + Cloud / Download Region

Sometimes you'll have to exit and restart steam.

Sometimes just stopping download, exiting and restarting steam is all you need.

 

I'm sorry but I am also downloading that game right now This was the only game that I couldn't resist buying from Steam Christmas sales.

 

I might get Shank. I don't already own it and the preview looked interesting.

That game was something I been wanting to play for a long time, because of it being a side scroller action beatem up game. Plus for that price I think its worth it.

 

I see what you're saying. I haven't been trying to download anything from Steam the last couple of days and it's crawling. Seems like they'd ramp up bandwidth over the sales days.

 

I had about 1.2 MB/s of download rate for Batman. So it's not related to Steam or maybe I had a lucky download server in my region. Maybe there are a lot of steam users in your vicinity?

 

What's your region? I'll switch to that. I've tried everything pretty much east of the mississippi in the US and all slow.

Mine is slow, and also bounces around, like from 50 KB/s to 300KB/s to 200KB/s to 400KB/s (giving me hope), then back down to 100KB/s...

 

well I set my download server as US-New York. Mine bounced too from 300 kb/s to 1.2 mb/s. Have you checked with your ISP? I guess you don't need to waste time doing so as I am sure the downloading rate will go up once Christmas is over.

 

It's definitely an overload on their end for this game because I have bought and downloaded about 11 games this weekend and Batman is the only one bouncing around. Every other game has been steady. The good news is i'm downloading Batman and Tropico Gold and unless there is another game for purchase tomorrow. January 2nd can't get here fast enough, my wallet is about to explode.

 

I don't think it's necessarily the game per se, but the servers in general. Guess I'll just set it and forget it and it gets done when its done.

Picking up Batman: Arkham Asylum, nice and cheap.

I've been selective so I can still afford to buy more, although I don't know if my budget will last the whole sale.

 

Definitely try switching regions.

I was in San Jose, CA, and I was crawling at an average of, oh, 150 kb/s while updating my game files on my 1215n. Switched to Sacramento, CA, and boom, 900+ kb/s.

 

Bought B:AA GOTY Edition. also got DA:O as a Christmas present.

 

mine is set to uk london region. its jumping from 20kb -200kb and then just stops for ages. on 15% now but i did turn off over night.
ill have a play about with the settings.
they dont give you many options with the download speed.
dsl/cable 2m or cable/fibre 10m. im on 4-5mb broadband but got mine set on 2m.is it worth changing to 10m?
all im waiting for is medal of honour now and then im done (i think)

 

simply try changing it up and see if it works out better for you. trial and error

kind of a halfway point in the sales. It's hard to recap 13 days of sales, 6 days on the other hand is much easier.

 

Well, at least I get another chance to think about Super Meat Boy. Any opinions on it? I was hoping they would have a demo of it so I could try it out before buying.

Get Super Meat Boy.

 

I bought SMB at $7.50 after missing the first sale, thinking it wouldn't go on sale again. Now I feel dumb.

 

BFBC2 at that price is such a steal... I already have it, but if I didn't, that would probably be the best thing to happen to me this year.

 

Make sure you play it with a gamepad, using the keyboard makes it harder than it should be.

 

I just grabbed BFBC2 now that it was under seven dollars again. It seems like more people here play that than the COD series now.

 

I bought BC2 and The Witcher today. I've had an inkling to the try out The Witcher so what better time than 5 dollars time. And I'm an FPS noob but I'm really enjoying Black Ops so I think giving BC2 a shot will be worth it. Might get Darksiders too but I'm undecided.

I'll ask my question here too since the sale might end before it gets answered in the other thread: how long does it take to finish Darksider's storyline? And if there are extensive extras, then how long does it take to beat the game 100%?

 

I'd rather see newer games. Although I suppose they put it up for sunday.

even though i hated battlefield b c 2 beta im loving the single player and hoping vietnam will be a bit cheaper soon. as mentioned above it was half price on the ea website but my question about linking to steam wasnt answered so i didnt buy it. now i believe the download just gives you the unlock key so it will link up with steam.

 

Wings of Prey dropped a penny to $5.99 and is a great buy at that price. I picked up WOP along with the expansion for $13.49 total when it first went on sale.

 

Not gonna lie, some of these sales really suck, I was expecting newer games, but alot of these are old and I wouldn't pay what they are asking for, that said there have been a few decent titles for decent prices
