Well, when 1284 games and packs are on sale over the whole two weeks, with 13 daily deals per day, not all of them are going to be good deals.
Keep in mind just about everything that was already a decent price is now at a better price.

-
God damn it, Super Meat Boy is already making me rage so hard. Stupid keyboard. I guess I should buy a controller. Do you guys know where I can get one cheaply?
-
Borderlands GOTY for 50% off yesterday. Now if only my download speeds weren't so painfully slow that it takes me 12 hours to download (wired connection btw).
-
took me about 15 hours each for Mass effect 1 and 2
-
I heard from a source inside of Valve, they are going to put some newer games at 75% off.
You heard it here first. -
. I'm not trying to sound like I'm proud of it, but my connection sucks

New deals posted
-
meh, nothing special.
-
-
yea nothing special, already have most of those (Mirrors Edge, Street Fighter IV) and the rest are nothing special perhaps even boring to say the least. -
Cities XL looks interesting, but not at $20. KOTOR for $2.50 is nice for those who don't have it.
-
Serious Sam HD looks like it could be fun too
-
Im interested in Cities XL too, just that im not familiar with this genre of gaming. Also im fighting with the idea of getting god of war 3 ....hmmmm
-
Serious Sam HD *IS* good fun. Nothing serious, just blow stuff up. Well worth $4. Nothing else looks good to me though. I'm considering mirror's edge.
-
they are going to make us wait until the end of the sale for hopefully some newer games and then its back to work with no time to play them
come on steam, play the game as we want to as well. -
steam hit me again--downloading serious sam. i am off today and started playing dao ultimate. i am glad i picked it up.
-
Arrgghhh!!! I love these sales too damn much!! I seriously have an addiction...BUT I LOVE IT!!
I had a small'ish backlog before this sale, and now it is gunna be HUGE. And to think, we still have another WEEK of this!
Here's my damage thus far:
- F.E.A.R. Complete
- BC2 Vietnam
- Darksiders
- Devil May Cry 4 (got it at $5)
- Overlord Complete Pack
- Serious Sam HD Double Pack
- Super Meat Boy
I'm still waiting on Dead Space, but I'm pretty sure I'll get plenty of distractions before the end of the week. -
NotEnoughMinerals Notebook Deity
i don''t know if im happy or not that none of the deals today intrigue me. yay saving money?
btw, anyone got an extra x360 controller to sell me? -
-
My damage so far:
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Assassins Creed 2
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Batman: Arkham Asylum
and then someone gave me Dragon Age Origins for Christmas. I have a lot of games I need to play now. -
Here's mine:
Bad Company 2
Shank
Super Meat Boy
FlatOut Ultimate Carnage
Darksiders
Wings Of Prey
FEAR 2 + Reborn DLC
The Witcher
Might add Serious Sam to the mix .. -
Man, I haven't bought anything yet. And I really want to find something to buy!
The only thing I "got" during these holidays was BC2: Vietnam expansion (and even that was free) and Just Cause 2 (htwingnut's giveaway).
Hopefully tomorrow something sparks my interest.
And I really need something else because I am playing constantly, now that I'm on winter break from grad school! -
don't get Cities XL, I still hear there are problems with it and it is not worth the 19.99. If you want a good city simulator, then get SimCity 4.
-
Yea I haven't bought anything yet either myself. I'm really just waiting for a special on BFBC2:Vietnam, I don't really want/need anything asides that.
I did however find the 'Commandos Collection' for $2.99. From what I remember these games were pretty fun back in the day, and I should be able to run them on my netbook, so it might be a nice game to pickup to play while travelling.
EDIT: now that kbs mentioned SimCity 4, I'm bent on getting it! Is $9.99 a good price for it or has it been cheaper? I'm always looking for that best offer! -
Been waiting for Mirror's Edge to go on sale. Any opinions on it before I pull the trigger?
Also, has anyone else gotten the Battlefield 2 "CD key invalid" problem? If so, try running Steam as admin, right-clicking the game, then choosing "Verify Integrity of Game Cache." -
Mirrors edge is fairly short, but a genuinely refreshing experience. The free running from a first person perspective is pretty awesome for immersion. Combat may be weak, campaign on the short side, but for the price of entry you can go wrong. enjoy!
-
I've read that the time trials DLC is incompatible with the Steam version of Mirror's Edge, so heads up to anyone else considering a purchase.
-
I reallllly enjoyed Mirror's Edge from start to finish, though there were a few hangups. Great visuals and responses, but I didn't find much replay value in it. Definitely worth the sale price tho, I got it last year =)
My list so far:
ME2
Super Meat Boy
FEAR Pack
Serious Sam HD Pack
Combine these with the fact that I have MANY games that I've been meaning to get to, and the outcome is a verrrry game-filled winter break =) good thing i have a full month -
-
You have to get the DLC from EA, but it's incompatible with the Steam version.
Super Meat Boy is fun, but it has also been very frustrating at many times. When you have a platforming game that requires extreme precision like Super Meat Boy, you need tight, precise controls. But it feels like the controls are sluggish and sloppy at times. I can't tell you how many times I've died by simply running off the starting platform and into the spikes or lava below me because I'm expecting a jump right when I press the spacebar, but the jump comes a split-second after I press it. And when I manage to hit a tough jump onto a singular platform, I often find myself sliding off to the right and into spikes even though I was pressing the left arrow key to keep myself on it.
It hasn't stopped me from playing, but I feel like many of my deaths are due to imprecise controls. And that's a shame because the level design is really good; it's difficult, but not unfair. -
-
Definately grabbing the serious sam pack
I busted loose and have bought alot of games:
Bully
Prince of persia
POP Sands of Time
POP Warrior Within
POP The Two Thrones (Yes Im a fan of prince of persia)
Puzzle Quest
Super Meat Boy
Trials 2
FEAR 2
Also, in the recent black friday sale I grabbed
Batman AA
Dirt 2
Just Cause 2
Overlord
Good Haul so far
Hope that Dead Space goes on sale -
Moreso with the keyboard than with the controller, but still an awesome game -
SC4 might be an old game, but it's wayy better than Cities XL. Cities XL had potential, but the developers (Monte Cristo, I believe) totally messed it up. Balance issues, memory leaks, lack of transportation, buggy traffic, and a plethora of other issues. The only good thing that comes from Cities XL is perhaps the graphics, which isn't saying much. -
-
-
I have no problem with the controls in SMB. You have to be very precise, but that's the point.
I might not be understanding your situation exactly, but if I slide too far and fall off a platform or hit spikes despite holding the opposite direction, it's because I landed on the platform with too much speed.
The game is frustrating, but it's a fun frustrating, if that makes sense. It never feels unfair (at least to me). -
Well, Battlefield 2 was a waste of $5.00. The invalid CD-key problem won't let me join any multiplayer games and I've tried every method to try and fix it. And the one time I could join a server? Punkbuster kicked me out because of the Steam community overlay. Now I can't even highlight a server without the game crashing.
@eight35pm, I don't think the game is unfair at all. In fact, I said it was the complete opposite. I just feel that half of the deaths are my fault and the other half are due to imprecise controls. When a game demands the precision that Super Meat Boy does, I expect the controls to be just as precise. I just don't have that feeling of control and precision over the character. Maybe that's due to the keyboard vs. gamepad, maybe it's just my incompetence, but that's the way it seems to me. -
As for Punkbuster, make sure you update Punkbuster:
PunkBuster Online Countermeasures
You don't have to launch Steam then launch BF2, I'm sure you can just launch BF2 using game shortcut as you would for a retail disc version. -
But lastly and most importantly disable the Steam overlay. It causes nothing but problems with BF2.
If that doesn't fix your issues, then contact EA support. -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Ooh, the Killing Floor DLC is $0.50 a pop. Yeah, yeah, it's only $2 normally, but my rule is that I never buy stuff full price.
Guess I'll also pick up Serious Sam and both Lost Planets.
There goes the Christmas money... -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Eh, what's done is done. I blame the Grants nestling in my wallet.
And, all told, I'm easy to please when it comes to games. -
hmm, might pick NWN 2 bundle.
-
-
Grabbed SS Gold pack, and saw that The Adventures OF PB Winterbottom was only £0.34
so I got that too
I never saw it advertised though, at 90% off its INSANE
Looking forward to playing it in the morning -
I'm also sorry about the controls. I doubt your incompetent, though. I'm not great at the game either. I've just never felt like I've tried to do something and due to the controls that's not what happened. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm lucky that the controls are fine for me. -
You guys need to grab Mount and Blade Warband regardless of the sale its on. Its already been cheap a few times on Steam, but come on - Its basically the brains of a turkish man with his wife skinning the models. It started out as a one man army game, and you know that buying such a game, will help people.. small indie devs. The majority is not going to big evil corps.
