I think I heard the controls are weird for Dead Space?
-
I find the mouse control for Dead Space a bit sloppy. It's not fast enough even with the highest sensitivity option if my memory serves me right.
-
seriously Steam.... bought SC4 for $9.99 (on special) a few hours before they further dropped it to $4.99 yesterday... I literally bought it at 11:45pm Monday night before it dropped on Tuesday LOL! still a good price but it's #$% like this Steam!!
-
Problem is due to games like counter strike people expect the character to turn on the spot, dead space is not built like that and turning your back to something should have consequences, the character turns slow on purpose...

Any opinions on Hearts of Iron III pack? Looks super fun, though at the same time seems to be similar to the strategic map from Total War series...
-
-
Thanks, Rod. I've played the Total War series, but my favorite strategy games were the PTO (Pacific theater of Operations) games for SNES. This looks somewhat similar...
-
I have a question for you lot. I bought a bag load of games and now i'm reading that not only does it use Steam DRM, some of them use the Publishers DRM such as SecuROM and Starforce. Is that true? I bought Bad Company 2, Wings of Prey, Tropico 3 Gold. Dang I bought those Steam games thinking I was just dealing with Steam DRM.

YouTube - WTF is Greed Corp?
I think I am going to pass. It looks like fun, but I already have too many games and I am not sure I would have the time to play it. Anyway, it'll be on sale again sooner or later. -
-
Where do I find the revoke tools for some of these games especially non-EA games?
-
I've got a tough decision to make today. I already own GTA IV, but it's on sale currently with both expansion packs included for $10. Are the expansions alone worth the $10?
-
GTA4 complete pack for 10$ seems like a good deal to me, shame I already have it - same with l4d2, though I find it hard to believe that people still don't have it
NFS: hot pursuit, wasn't that just released not too long ago? Nice to see some newer games on for steep discounts -
I already beat GTA IV on the 360 (but no longer own it), and I only have a dual-core CPU. Would it still be worth it to buy?
I wish NFS:HP had a steeper discount... -
I get about 15-30 FPS on my laptop with everything at high and 4x AA
-
GTA IV really needs a quad-core CPU, or at least a dual-core with hyperthreading. I run it at ~30 fps with medium settings on my HTPC with an i3 530 and a 5570, which is probably similar in performance to your laptop. If necessary, run with shadows on low, as they really kill performance in this game.
Can anyone with both expansion packs tell me if they're worth $10 by themselves, since I already have the game itself so that's really what I'd be paying for?
EDIT: @the above poster How are you running GTA IV with AA? No matter what I do, even forcing it through the drivers, I cannot get it enabled and working in this game. -
Singularity is a great game, but I don't think I would pay 25 bucks for it. Maybe it's because I beat it on a 3 day rental on my xbox, I didn't see much replay value in it. Just a fyi for anyone who might be interested.
-
Bleh was hoping for deeper discount on Transformers, I can get it for cheaper on Amazon.
-
Transformers looks to be all I'm getting today. Coupled with nothing yesterday I'd say it evens out. Seems I'm averaging about $10 spent on Steam per day during these sales, sometimes more due to gifting.
@SparhawkJC: I saw that it's $3 cheaper on Amazon, but to me I'll pay $3 for the convenience of Steam (got enough discs to keep track of). -

Nothing for me today, thought about oblivion but I have dragon age: origins ultimate to go through first
-
Has Oblivion gone on sale often in the past? I'm tempted, but I likely have enough gaming to keep me going until the summer.
-
I picked it up over the summer deals for around the same price iirc.
-
How accessible is Europa Universalis III for someone who doesn't have a lot of time to put into it?
-
nothing that good today
-
I got GTA-4 collection! I played it before but halfway thru i lost my save game n never tried again!
Hopefully I can play it on my laptop! -
I'm pretty sure you won't be able to play it on your 4570 at all, and surely not anywhere near 1080p.

Shatter was a great buy for me when I got it a while back.
Very entertaining time killing game with good music. Also if you like music and games as much as I do the $5.00 Beat Pack was also super great purchase even though I already had 2 of the 5 games in that pack. -

I got the DVD version of GTAIV for like $5.0 on ebay a long time ago, but $10 for the digital version and extra content is not bad.
I never beat GTA though.
The Oblivion GOTY for $10.00 or Deluxe for $12.50 also look really good.
Oblivion is a bit dated now but its a classic, and there are so many mods to make it more modern and expand the content.
Not sure if there will be issues using these mods on the steam version though. -
Oblivion is great, it's the first game I bought on steam. I need to play it again before skyrim...

Is Star Trek online fun, and still very active? How much is the subscription to any players out there as well. Maybe my first MMO? I am excited... XD
-
Arkham Asylum revoke tool (if you own the game)
Manual unlock/activation And this might come in handy if you having issues activating your game (not needed when it comes to steam though as everything is a breeze) -

Hey guys, I was wondering if I can get some input. I'm debating getting a racing game to play as an occasional change of pace. Would you recommend NFS: Undercover or Burnout Paradise Ultimate? Can both of these be played decently with a mouse/keyboard? Like I said, I'm mainly buying this as a dristraction, and to see if I like PC racing games, so I have no plans to buy a wheel and pedals ..... yet.
-
-
Most racing games need at least a game controller. Keyboard mouse can be a bit problematic, but it might work with burnout paradise.
For just a distraction, get trackmania nations forever, it's free and works reasonably well with the keyboard.

I kind wanted to get RUSE, but 33% off is not that appealing...
-
Just so you guys know, GameStop is selling the digital copy of GTA Episodes from Liberty City for $7.49USD.
-
I play DiRT 2 with the keyboard and it's not too bad...
-
On a different topic, Brothers in Arms - Road to Hill 30, is there a permanent effect later in the game if one of your squad members gets killed in combat (due to my clumsiness)?
-
At least, for another hour.
-
should i get L4D2 Before times runs out?
-
-
10 Char -
come on black ops 50% off, lol.
