Has anyone played Bully for the PC before? How were the controls (similar to GTA on PC?). I have it on the PS2 and LOVED IT but the loading times were obnoxious.
-
but when i did first play it it was full of bugs but there have been quite a few patches released from them so i assume it plays allot better
Hope i helped -
Finally grabbed the max payne pack for pretty much nothing
Had it on PS2, but since that is somewhere at home halfway across the world its much easier to have it on steam -
So anyone played bully on pc?

Max Payne Pack - 75% off!

Todays Sale
75% of all GTA Classic titles
All games excluding GTA IV are on sale.
I have VC but not SA could get that for £2.5
Or all of them for £5 on steam, but I don't know if I would play GTA III

I need GTA lovers suggestion, which ones are the best ones on that sale? I dont want to get them all cuz I think Ill never play all of them, so if someone could suggest a couple of them thatd be sweet.
-
That leaves III, Vice City and San Andreas
I've never played III and don't think I ever will so I didn't buy it, and can't comment on it.
Vice city is a great game. Sure its dated, but it still provides hours of fun, and there are tons of mods.
It is also $1.25 cheaper than SA
I just bought SA so I can't comment on the PC version's performance, but the game is also tons of mindless fun (had the PS2 version).
Which of the two you choose is up to you, but both are great games, and for something like $1.20 more you can get the whole pack so thats essentially GTA III for that much
Hope this helped at least (a little) bit
-
Nice thing about San Andreas and Vice City is they actually work well on a netbook.
-
GTA:S.A & Vice City.
amazing games especially S.A
also there are tons of mods some of which just make it a better experience some which can completly change the game.
Also there is legit multiplayer on S.A if you download the mod for it -
Everyone says San Andreas was like GTA III with RPG elements. If you want the game that started it all, get GTA III. If you want an 80's version of the game that started it all, get Vice City. If you want the "pinnacle" of Grand Theft Auto, get San Andreas.

Wish Rockstar would port over Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories.
They are awesome. -
GTA 4 complete pack is $10 today, quite a deal. If your computer can run it, it puts all the other gtas to shame

*glances at his poor dual core i5 and slightly undervolted 5650m*
nope.
not happening. Especially not Episodes from liberty city. -
I recall someone else stating they got 30+ fps on medium with that setup. I used to play GTA4 on a 3ghz c2d with acceptable performance so you might want to see if there is a demo available or anything.

ive heard gta IV is poorly optimized. Anyone running it on a 5870? If so how is the experience? I also agree that SA is the best of the series. Best story, deepest, most fun. Best characters.
-
It isn't horribly optimized like metro2033, but it clearly isn't optimized properly. You'd be able to run it on med settings with an i5 and a 5650, just turn shadows down to min and night shadows off.
It runs fine on a 5870m, I play with everything except shadows on high and average ~45fps. It does drop to ~25 when there are explosions at night in the fog... -
-
I've been eying "Metro 2033" for a while and it's only $10 right now on steam. (50% off).
I think I might get me a copy. -
At $10 Metro is a great buy, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you like post-apocalyptic shooters, then you won't be disappointed.
-
Tomorrow, the gamersgate will sell Metro with 75% discount ($5) and can be activated with Steam.
-
Dawn of War II can also activated on steam
-
Can someone explain how Gamersgate and activating on Steam would work? Would I be able to download/backup off Steam and have my registration stored with them? As well, is Gamersgate trustworthy?
-
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
steam lets you add Metro2033 CD keys to steam.

Hope this helps -

What RaYYaN said.
There are some games that can be bought from wherever and activated on steam (and then it's in your library like you bought it).
here is the list: -

Midweek Madness: 80% off ARMA II & 40% off Arrowhead , British Armed Forces and Private Military Company.
-
Any thoughts on ARMA II?
-
It's more of an RTS than a FPS, and it will kick your i5's posterior. My desktop could barely handle the final mission (rest of the game ran fine).
-
No, it's not more of an RTS at all. ARMA II is primarily an FPS: an ultra-realistic combat simulator. It does what it says on the package and is based on a simulator engine that provides virtual training for several well-known armies around the world (including USMC).
Expect mature gameplay, expect teamwork, expect custom and modifiable combat missions and a single sprawling map the size of an island. Oh and more weapons and vehicles you could ever think of driving/piloting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Tl18UtNPc
However, yes it does include some light RTS elements (for "commander"), and yes it will "kick your i5's posterior". -
I really gotta build that dang Desktop....
-
-
-
Syberia and @nthony: When you say "kick your i5's posterior" are you saying don't get Arma II if you have an i5, or just that you won't be able to run it with full graphics if you have an i5? I have the same system as Tree Burner, only with a slightly faster i5-450. $7.99 is tempting, but not if it won't run well.
-
The game is a huge system hog, bringing anything without a quad core to its knees, the game should run but you won't be able to have anything on max. Hence why I haven't even bothered looking at it lol.
-
Yep. The procedural terrain generation, combined with huge sprawling maps, combined with many instances of AI, and real-time physics simulations etc, means ARMA won't even pretend like it's going to run on max all on any rig in this generation.
But the plus is of course that ARMA's medium settings are like many other game's max-all's, and it still runs ok, especially given everything it attempts to do. -
a question about steam: when you uninstall a game from steam, is it a complete clean uninstall...or is there still junk left over from the game?
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
-
-
To put it in perspective, my 740qm/5730 manages 25+ fps most of the time, with occasional dips into the teens, and the game makes use of all 8 threads as far as I can tell. -
Mount & Blade games are 80% off ($4-6), the package is $20
