What class of mobile graphic card do i need to run this one smoothly?

    I own a 135m (something like a 8400 GS) ... is it good enough?

I suppose it would run smooth provided you lower the graphic settings to low.

Specular maps uses advanced lighting techniques to reflect light better basically. With it on you notice more reflection of light off of surfaces. You won't notice a big difference if any at at all (some of my friend don't see a difference.)

The retail is more optimized than the demo. I know because I was using the demo as a benchmark for my overclocking and the retail definitely runs better.

OK multiplayer is both fast paced and slow paced at the same time. In the game being patient and using cover is essential. You have to run from cover to cover and can't expect to run and gun in this game. Its fast paced in terms sometimes you die in the blink of an eye and alot of the time you have no idea where the fire came from.

Its about constantly moving, using cover, and being patient. It is very intense though and can be very frustrating sometimes but just as rewarding when you do well. In this game you can see your progression with weapons and in general gameplay over time. Getting used to the realistic weapon dynamics is a big part of the game because they all handle differently.

Its also a good balance between stealth and using team barrages to flank and bombard the enemy. Its a great game, you won't be dissapointed.

Soryr my multiplayer review wasn't as good, school what can I say.

i really think this is one of the best fps games out there that goes well beyond waht tf2 did for me... if u want a fast paced firefight u can go into a 32 player game (or 54 if u want to go into chaos) or you can go strategic/tactical by dropping down to 16 or so players... i love it either way, 16 players just reminds me of GRAW2 and is awesome. even though this is my multiplayer game of choice right now, i will occasionally play bf2 to go the vehicle/massive infantry way...

Well it appears that overclock is overall the max overclock for most games. Some games I can go higher and some games the screen artifacts if I try to go higher than that. With the cpu and gpu overclocked my gpu temp goes around low 90s. With only gpu overclocked it stays at about the high 80s. Depends on the environment too, since recently a cold front has come in and my gpu temps are a few degrees lower than usual.

I don't use a cooling pad though I'm thinking about buying one soon.

are the 169.04's overclockable? Every time i bring mine up to 550/490 and close rivatuner and reopen it to make sure the settings are what i set it at they revert back to the normal 475/400

Yup the .04s are definitely overclockable. Try starting from lower values and incremental jumps in the overclock. Sometimes if you jump too high too fast your gpu does not allow it.

Ah there i go I don't know why i still had old drivers detected. I OC'd the .04's to 540/460 and got 3920 in 3dmark so a definate increase in performance. Another question do you have you link your core clock with your shader?

Yeah my rivatuner forced me to do it. Also what comp are you on? Most peoples mem clock reaches like 485-515 with a high core overclock. With the overclock there you can play with pretty good fps at 1680 x 1050.

The game runs great with texture settings set to High, no AA, at 1280 x 800, most of the advanced graphical options off at the moment. Still looks great and the game feels really in depth.

    Hi Everyone.

I've gathered alot of information about this game and its performance on several mobile GPUs, I run this with a steady 85 performance in multiplayer with everything high on my Desktop PC... now I've just ordered the Zepto 6224w which consists of the following.

    2 ghz 7250.
    2 gb PC5300.
    8600m GT DDR2 512mb version.

Now will it be able to handle a steady FPS with some tweaking in multiplayer? Or at least some playability?

I'm running it on 1440x900 with 2x AA and its running great, oc'd at 560/460 with a steady 50 degrees celcius. I've gettings TONS of freeze ups with the 169..04's, anyone else experiencing this?

HI everybody, I just want to make a comment on how good is the netcode in COD4. I'm from Brazil, and as there isn't yet brazilian dedicated servers, I'm playing regularly in north-american servers, with pings between 190-240. And the game is absolutely solid and lag-free for me. In fact it plays better than the brazilian BF2142 servers I'm accustomed. Really impressive.

We have nearly the same system, and it will run fine. I run it at 1200x800 res. texture on high and extreme and nearly everything else on and get a fps around 30+.
    I have overclocked my x1800 to 452/522

    Great game...................

    Highlight To Read

I agree, COD4 has been one of the most emotional games I have ever played. So far the most emotional part for me has been when the Cobra goes down and you have to rescue the female pilot in the downed Cobra since the other pilot has been KIA and then as you load up into the SeaKnight and begin your extraction as you fly off the nuclear bomb goes off behind you and your helicopter crashes and then also after the video following as you try to climb out of the helicopter and just as you crawl out of the wreckage you die. Also the graphics, background audio and general emotion of that level/video just adds to the overall excellent effect.

You could mark that as spoiler, but whatever.

Also, most of the stealth missions in fps games and such are pain, but the ghillie stealth mission + "one shoot, one kill" mission are absolutely best stealth-, if not best missions i have ever played in fps game.

Also, the game is not as hardware demanding as it looks. I raise my hat to Infinity Ward.
    So worth buying.

The game is famous for intensity during the game, like all the previous episode, CoD4 has done a great job! The intensity during some of the mission made me gone frustrated(Was playing on hardened)!

I am totally agree with The Forerunner, help yourself and play it at least on hardened! Feel the intensity(and hopefully extend your playing time abit as you will turn out to be dying a lot of times)!

OK my main tips that I gave to a new friend that started an account is to always act like your being watched. He was very frustrated but he loves the game, hes coming over tomorrow to play some more.

Never assume you are safe so always run from cover to cover. Often when you see all green around you that still doesn't mean your safe so just be wary of that. Its kinda dumb but if you play it like a real marine it helps alot because they don't just run and get shot. If you value each life and are patient you'll do well.

Like in this game its more like alot of the time being prepared and ambushing the enemy. My friend whever he saw enemies would go bring the fight to them and get pwnt. Then I would take a turn and show him that if you use cover and wait for them to come to you, you can kill a whole squad of 3-4 instead of running around in the open and dieing before you can kill a signle of them.

Also keep your compure. My main thing is when I die from a string of deaths I get reckless and die easily by being suicidal. Just keep your attitude in check and keep focused.

Also keep your composure if your low level. Most of the people now are pretty high leveled and if your aren't just do the challenges and you'll be fine. Any skilled person can kill anyone else but yes you are at a disadvantage of having a a less powerful weapon. Just do the challenges and unlock the attachments and you'll do fine.

Mainly play like theres always a chance of someone watching you because realistically most times there are. People are waiting in ever little corner and some wait to shoot you from an angle that gives them a view of of the size of a bowling ball just so they aren't seen and can shoot you.

Also silenced weapons are your friend as well as melee. My friend never uses the silenced pistol and melee and it costs him big time. If you see you are behind an unsuspecting person or even a group, melee is great. You can run up to them and stab them without any of the others noticing. Often people are so worried about whats ahead of them when they are in a group they assume they are safe from the behind because the other members of the group would notice. I remember one time I was playing with my friend and I killed every member of a group by melee and silenced pistol than hiding and the last guy did not even notice and I just made it humiliating by waiting for him to turn around before I meleed him while walking 2 feet behind him.

Thanks, for the advice! I am starting to get along well now.

The MP is very fun, its cool because its just so dynamic and changing.

It's cool because you can choose an MP5 and play tactically or grab and M16 and play like a soldier.

It really is tons of fun.
