Is it better to go through the single player first then multi player? or just dive right into multi player?

 

The gameplay is basically traditional CoD with new guns - they haven't changed anything. I'm guessing the only way to learn multiplayer on it would be to...play multiplayer .

 

I did the single player first before diving into the mutliplayer, I had more experience once I got into multiplayer and it helped.

 

Could one play this game at the highest quallity settings with these stats in his laptop?

Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2GHz
Nvidia 8600M 256Mb
200GB 7200 rpm
2Gb DDR2
Windows Vista

 

If thats an 8600M GT then yes but not neccesarily at highest resolution unless you overclock.

 

lol I thought forerunner said to play this on veteran , guess didnt read properly that it was hardened.

In vetern its crazy...I die instantly, havent even passed the mission where your supposed to protect that tank in the bog level (3rd or 4th level). The tv station mission took ages too..lol

 

Please, I need help
CoD4 keeps crashing when i try to change the settings in-game. I once fixed this somehow by installing newest v-card drivers, but today after I installed Unreal Tournament 3, everything went down. Both of these games are crashing.
System specs are:
AMD Turion 64 ML-34
1gb RAM
ATi Mobility Radeon X700

 

Wow playing it on veteran on your first try through? Your a true soldier. I'm playing through veteran now. And trying gears of war on its highest setting which is a pain in the ass also. Don't have any idea how I'm going to beat RAAM in the end.

Gonna tackle crysis and then unreal after.

Arqu might be that your low on ram. If your on vista you really should at least 1.5 and even then your stretching it, 2 gigs is highly recommended.

 

Haha yea lol, gotten used to it now, its actually quite fun, have re done the bog mission without dying at all as well as the one after that. The intesity is soo much in veteran its amazing

 

Best of luck with the last part of One Shot, One Kill. You'll be throwing your mouse at the wall soon enough. I guarantee it. Even on Hardened, that mission took me at least 40 attempts.

That mission where intel says al asad is broadcasting in the tv station....when you raid the tv station...holy **** that mision took me some time..in the end i just hid somewhere and let my team mates do the work..occasioanly helped by tossing the grenades back or killing some one. After that though im on the death from above mission and havent died once after the tv mission to the death from above on veteran (took some practise)

btw another tweak for those having issues such as lag even in the menus or in mp. Enable Dual Video Cards option....even if you dont have dual video cards....it helped me out.

Im thinking of posting a cod4 tweak thread or guide thing as I have quite a few tweaks, advice on how to make this game run better or trouble shoot it..what do you guys think would it come handy or not?

hey I just bought the game, so I decided to uninstall the demo..however, after it uninstalled the shortcut remained on my desktop..and it won't let me delete it..how do I get rid of it?

 

nevermind..I figured it out..now I feel stupid..installing COD 4 now!

Damn I just unlocked the overkill perk, and damn its a doozy.

 

that was my favorite mission in the game besides the death from above one. the very end of it is a b****, when you are trying to escape. A couple of times I hit parts that I had to do 5-6 times over. I nearly crushed my mouse.

 

I just reach lvl 55. In my opinion, it is too easy to lvl up and there arent much motivation after 55 lvl. Some of the challenge is just plain...*** you have to be extremely lucky, like getting 2 kill streak while in the air or melee someone with a nade . I think I will go play some SP on veteran to fresh up my mind.

 

yeh, it is much too easy to reach level 55. i find it hard to get incentive to keep playing but i will because i know ill get used to not leveling up and getting points... but in my opinion,if they would've just threw out the leveling all together then i wouldn't feel this sense of "completion" which is not good in a mp game. it would have been much better without a XP system at all OR have WAAAY more ranks/make it harder like the BF series does. as a matter of fact, i think im going to load up bf again

 

The last 2 perks were stupid...NOX Ryan just finished his 10th run through prestige and wow...it was way not worth it, but i'm doing it anyway...

 

I have to disagree with some parts of your article but ill just point out one thing that bothered me...

you stated that you can customize your guns,outfits,etc...

how do you customize your outfit?you don't have any option to choose what you wear unless you have a sniper rifle on a grassy map which would automatically give you a ghillie suit...that is if your sniper rifle is your primary weapon anyway...

 

I wish we could add at least two attachments per weapon. Like a red dot and a silencer or like the guns we have in SP, because it sucks having a silencer but crappy sights and vice versa for the other attachements. Maybe activision will make a patch

 

Well that review was before I really got to play the mutliplayer alot and I based it off of inifinity ward's comments before hand that said suit customization. I guess they meant the camo of the gun which in turn for some outfits changes the camo.

Yeah, having a silencer is deadly in that game. Especially in maps like countdown where you can circle around the enemy easily and kill a good amount of people before they notice. Some of the iron sights are pretty good though while some do more harm than good so it depends on the gun.

I just finished the SP, the ending imo is a bit non-define, especially for Prince. What do you guys think of the ending?

Same goes for Captain Price.

 

regarding using 2 attachments to a gun...you can,its one of the 2 hidden perks you get after going through prestige mode 10 times,=P...

 

I think the ending is very memorable. The tv reports is ironic. They fought their way through hell itself but no one will ever know their heroic tale. The only proof that they were ever there is probably somewhere in the SAS archive room.

 

I smells an expansion pack that will fill up those empty slots. EA are good at making money, so prepare to get ripped off...

 

what are you talking about?those 2 empty slots are unlocked by going through prestige mode 10 times.

At least someone is there to pass on the story, I guess they didn't let him die so they can reserve him for the next expansion or episode of COD. Again the rule of, if you never see them die, then they are not dead yet, something like that...

god, stat padding is really gettin bad in this game...i wish there was a way to stop it ;p

if u want to get to level 55 in one day all u have to do is join one of those 24/7 shipment levels and get 1000+ points a round

Yeah I figured stuff like that was bound to happen. I'm indifferent to it because I really don't consider ranking up tedious but fun. Its nice to progression in your skills and with every rank I generally see my stats and skills improve and thus I get a reward eventually. Yes I know everyone unlocks the same thing but if you play better your awarded more. Especially in the challenges in operations where you have to come in the top slots or be the best in vairous ways.

If those people feel having all the guns unlocked after one day is what they want, go for it. They are just downgrading the game.

 

Got some strange issue, running on fully max graphic options in 1280, with ~30FPS, I’ve got some strange, lag or something when I’m turning my head, don’t know what it is. I’m using 169.01 driver (same **** in vista and XP)

 

Try 169.12 Modded Driver.I got the same issue with 169.01

 

It might be a setting called smooth mouse. I saw someone mention it earlier in the thread but I could never actually find it.

ps. I just reached level 40 and the p-90 + silencer + double tap is deadly. It's the only weapon that i can actually stand the iron sights

 

And i just watched that stat padding, god thats boring I have fun looking towards new weapons, although i think i'll stick with p90/g36c.

I've been playing more TF2 than COD4 this week.

COD4 has been very buggy to me, I am waiting for patch 1.3.

 

i'm waiting for new maps, more levels, and some more dedicated hardcore players

for now ill just keep ranking up and getting more goodies in bf2, and yes, im still ranking up in that game rather than the week it took me to get to level 55 in cod4

 

just wanted to post this for those interested... it appears they are working on a cod4 stat site but i believe u have to be playing on a specific server that is registered for cod4tracker ... its in the very early stages yet so there has been problems with bugs and such, but if ur interested its at
