Well so far things are going good with the NBR server, but we need to get more people to play in it.
If you see people online, invite them into the server. In a perfect world the server would be full 24-7, and NBR members could join, bumb any non-NBR members, and we would always have a fun game available to play with friends. So far I have only gotten to play a few games, but they were a blast. The mumble server makes things a ton more fun (thanks Deagleson!).
Thanks to 10 generous NBR members, we almost have enough money to fund the server through March 2nd 2012. (we are <$10 short of being able to buy a 3 month reduced rate).
Even if you cannot afford to give, PLEASE come and play in the server, the more people are in the more fun it is. We need your participation.
For those of you who have donated, thank you. I hope this project is a lot of fun for all of us.
Donors in no particular order:
HTWingNut
Hockeymass
EtownFinest
TalonUIUC
TearTaker
Valkeriefire

Once again, the best way to coordinate is to just hop onto mumble and hang around. You can mute yourself if you want, just seeing names in there (+ the ability to chat via mumble) leads to more people staying, which leads to even more people.
I still maintain we need to figure out what modes and maps are best to play... judging from my server history, I only play on 24/7 conquest servers with map rotations that exclude metro. Then when we figure out what modes we'll stick with, we can name the server better so more pubs can find it. Right now it's pretty hard to stumble on it by accident, but adding 'conquest' to the server title will let people search for it easily for example.
The server rarely has anyone on it because, while enough of us play regularly judging from my friends list, we are not coordinated in any fashion, and people (myself included) would rather play on a populated server. Battlelog doesn't help much either... I really wish EA would listen to us and make the platoon useful for event coordination, more like steam groups. -
Been there few the past few days. Haven't seen you yet
-
Just added to the fund
. 3 month discount go-go!
-
Well, I voted no at first on the poll, but after reading through some of the posts I'll probably help out once I get a new machine and am able to enjoy the game. Appreciate the effort and organization.
-
We're discussing a way to coordinate NBR users as well as attract outsiders at the moment. Hopefully we can get something consistent rolling soon.
-
................
-
I changed all the maps to Small Conquest. Hopefully then more people will play. So far the server has not gotten much attention.
I have been busy at work helping people with a promotional exam during my spare time, but hopefully I will see you all on the killing fields in the coming weeks! -
Yea, I've been down to play, but never see anyone in the server
-
That is exactly why i haven't been in there, and I've checked frequently.
-
Agreed. I check everytime I play, and between games I'll tab out to check. I think what we need to do is orgainize a weekly game. One night a week where we all get on and play.
-
Definetly we need organization
We need everybody to let us know the times they are available I'm free now till April lol
-
I propose we meet online tomorrow night at 6pm pacific/9pm eastern.
We can call it... NBR BF3 Night. Free pizza and wings! jK.
We can get on the mumble server and have some fun.
Any takers? I think we'd need at least 6-8 people. -
I'm usually on HR's server. Their admins are great, kick and ban spawn campers fast. Their motto, everyone has a right to play. Spawn campers keep people from playing.
- Also watchful eye for cheaters. -
Count me in
-
Yea I could play at that time.
-
I'll be on then
-
Ill try and make it...wife...
lol
-
Still waiting to play BF3 with ya on HighRollerz server!
-
good idea guys, can't wait to join the fight
-
I did start a clan forum here: nbrbf3.free-forums.org • Index page
Figured use it for polls and organization of maps, times, etc. -
TONIGHT!
9PM EASTERN!
NBR BF3 Night!
Be there or be square!
NBR BF3 Server Chicago, starts with 1 player.
Map requests will be granted. -
9PM EST is 2AM GMT +1 correct?
I'll show up, lets see how laggy it'll get ^^ -
I think you are correct, that would be 2am GMT.
I just downloaded the Procon iPhone app, so I can control the server via my iphone. I hope we can get some action on here. I will see you all tonight, I may be late, but I will be there. -
19 players in here now. It is a record!
-
Nice playing with you all. Too bad the time difference here is so big otherwise I would have stayed longer. Well played everyone, especially Hakirak and Carlos something (sorry can't remember the name)!!
-
Philiphan is was great to have you. You are one good player, I must have gotten killed by your iFV 20 times.
29 people in the server now. -
Yea great turn out tonight, had some great rounds.
-
Yeah, I am exhausted, 3 hours of getting killed really takes it out of me.
The server has had 30-32 people in it for the last hour or two.
Looks like we found the formula to get people in.
Get 6-8 NBR members, other people will join, and it snowballs into a big game. -
Yea, that seems about right. If we can be in there regularly, we shouldn't have a problem filling it up.
-
I had fun killing everyone with my G3, but I did not have fun getting killed by whatever vehicle Hakirak and Shobster decided to pilot...
-
I spent half my time on that last map flying around, shooting jets and choppers, yet never getting a kill, only disables and they crash. Whatever it was Hakirak was flying I don't think I ran into it, I was killed by foot soldiers only I think, but was trying to find them, just couldn't. I was looking to even out his deaths with his kills!
And that stupid client side hit detection ticks me off to no end. Whoever it was I thought I pinned in front of my jeep. It showed them hit, not dead, so I jumped out to shoot and was bam, dead on the spot, and they had 100% health. Sigh.
It was fun anyways. -
Well, that jeep situation was me. You didn't hit me head-on on my perspective. That was weird.
The server was absolutely amazing, not bad for a 32-players too. -
Yep, good times were had, we filled the server up. Sorry mjol, I'm just a good tank driver and heli gunner, blame shob for flying helis!
Highlight of the night for me was shooting down ht's chopper with a tank shell
-
Server has a quite a high ping to me, 70~ ( I'm from San Diego). I would join but there is barely anyone
-
Its OK, I killed you when you were repairing at least once I think...
It would be easier if I wasn't playing on all low settings at 720P and could actually see things more than 20 feet away... -
Wish I could have joined in but I had too much going on lastnight. Glad to see it went so well. We gotta make it a regular thing.
-
Yeah lol, I think I was capping a point with the chopper. I've never had luck shooting a chopper with a tank or RPG despite them hovering still. All in all the server was one of the better ones I played on, maybe because it was 32 player and close to me, I dunno.
-
Does anyone want to play tonight? I'm gonna figure out how mumble works and I'll join voice as well if that's alright.
-
I wish I could have made it, sounds like it was fun. I didn't get home from work until 9 EST
-
I killed HTwingnut with my 1911 once! and in the end I fell asleep in front of the deploy selection, was 2 am when I woke up
-
I'll to make an appearance and get some Recon Points in
-
It is so much more fun with the mumble server, and it is in Norway so the ping for you should be great. For us it is like 600 but still works great.
I had a ton of fun also.
Anyone who wants to coordinate another night go for it. -
With mumble, do you all use the same channel or are you in different channels based on team or squad?
-
I was on the mumble server last night and in the same channel as you guys, but I couldn't hear anything at all. I must have something wrong.
Also, I don't remember who it was I was knifing, but i knifed 4 in a row all on the Hilltop point at Caspian Border and none of them were near each other... it was epic.
-
There are four separate channels within the Bf3 part of the mumble server, so each team or squad can have their own channel. We only had 4 people in mumble, and we were all on the same team, so we were all on the same channel.
It is very easy to use. Once installed and setup, you just drag yourself to the channel you want to be in. -
Btw ValkerieFire i took the liberty of stealing your dogtag while you were "afk eating" ^^
I'll make sure you'll never get mine! Bwahhahahahahahahhahahaha
On topic though, I'll join the server at 9PM EST, I'll closely monitor the server from 8PM EST though, so if someone joins I'll be in within 5 minutes. -
Hmm, I need to mess with it. i never hear anything either. I need to spend some time with it. Would love to be able to communicate so I can coordinate a strike. Move in from one side and set a squad to flank from another side. Obviously planning to avoid fratricide. Can't come from opposite sides of course, than you shootint at your own team
