Official NBR Battlefield 3 Clan Server Thread

Yeah last night looked cool. I logged into the server control panel via my iPhone and when I saw 27 people in there (with all the NBR people on the same team), I got jealous and wished I could have been playing.

Glad everyone had fun. It looks like this server is finally starting to pay off.

 

Wish I could have been there. Unfortunately, Patriots+Bruins+friends in from out of town=no video games

 

When were there 27 people on there? I got on for a little bit and it was 4v4 TDM, later it showed 2 online. Didn't check after 10:30pm though.

 

I know there were quite a few when I got on, and I think I was only on from 10:30pm-11:40pm Eastern. Must have been just after you left.

 

HT after you left they all started joining. At one point we had a full house 16vs16 on Firestorm/Kharg/Caspian. People mass dropped though when the server switched to Grand Bazaar. Could have been because of the time, or because of the infantry map, or a mix of both.

Still good times were had!

 

Did you update the server yet? It not showing up in the list yet.

 

Great, they broke our server... the "min player required to start" is stuck at 4. I can't find a way to change it back to 1. So basically instead of being able to log into our server and explore the map while we wait for people, we're stuck at spawn looking at [WAITING FOR PLAYERS: 4]

Try the server now. I restarted it and made a startup change. Hopefully that fixes it. If not, I will look into it first thing on Thursday when I get to work, or maybe Wingnut can fix it.

Ranked servers are forced at 4 minimum, according to them to prevent stats padding. In order to have a minimum of 1 you'll have to switch the server to unranked.

I hate DICE/EA. Ranked servers are 4 player minimum, which I guess is ok. I have another server that I was using with a few of my friends just for screwing around, and was waiting on unranked. They finally offered unranked, but now requires minimum of 2 players to start, where before when it was ranked only, only needed 1.

I just want to go in and check out maps, unlock all weapons and have a heyday for a bit. Can't even do that.

 

Exactly my point ht... as recently as monday I was on our server alone just waiting for people to show, and what I did in that time was learn to fly the scout chopper and refine attack chopper maneuvers.

I don't even care what their excuse is, just revert it back to how it was... people who stat boost are going to find a way to do it anyways even after the patch. It hurts way more than just us too... think of how many little clans are out there who can't attract players even with 1 player starts, and all of these clans have rented servers.

 

Well, it maybe a damage mitigation for against those who hacking the leaked server files by guessing the queries and data structures so quickly

It would really suck to join those that automatically resets you.

Good luck getting back since EA support are very slow at that.

 

EA is starting to act like a bunch of whiney little b^&^#@s. Why put a min on it? Who cares about stat padding? I mean really, it's only a game. HTF am I going to learn to fly? Jeez, makes me less inclined to play.

 

Yeah this sucks.

there are a lot of training servers online, with 8 player limit and active admins who will kick/ban people that are killing. Just untick every filter setting you have and search for "training". You can go there and fly around in jets/choppers.

 

I have one practice server, just PM me for the password. Problem is that before you could run around with only 1 player online (and it was ranked before), now it's 2 and unranked or 4 and ranked. So stupid.

 

I read on the server forums that passwords are now disabled. Is that true Wingnut?

 

For ranked server, I believed are disabled.

Try downloading the manual I posted and read the server administration ...
there's a table of what can do and can't for ranked and unranked.

Thanks Falco I didn't realize it was different. I will look into it tomorrow but from what I've read so far the 4 person minimum cannot be undone (I hope I am wrong). I plan on organizing an email campaign tomorrow to get EA to change things back to the 1 person start. They are penalizing a lot of rule abiding players in order to punish the small number who would pad stats using such servers (which is rediculous since skill comes from playing live opponents, not unlocking new weapons, so if someone did unlock everything they would still not ruin it for everyone since they likely suck anyway).

 

From everything I've investigated it's 2 person minimum unranked and 4 person minimum ranked.

 

Yep that's correct ht, and still pretty stupid to me. If it's unranked and nothing counts anyways what the heck does it matter, it should start with 1 player.

I think they should just revert the change completely, and let people start with 1 player even on ranked servers just like before, until they come out with a proper patch that lets you play around on a ranked server with no minimum players, but points are not awarded until you get 2 or 4 players. I mean come on, it was in BF2 and BC2, it's not like there is no known solution for this.

 

Well that, coupled with getting rid of the game queue too. They sound like things are all roses and butter but it really is skunks and munster cheese!

i little bit earlier would be cool since i'll be gone from tomorrow noon to monday in germany, and i wanna play as much bf3 as possible. I'll idle in mumble just yell there or spam me in blog if anyone is up for playing.

Hopefully Dice will change the number of players for the server to start soon. They are catching a ton of flack for it. If you read their forums they are getting hammered for it and the game has lost popularity since the change.

To my knowledge no one has been able to use it since the R9 update. It was also thanksgiving weekend so it is possible people were too busy with their families.

Until DICE changes it we will need 4 people to start any games. Anyone who wants to organize a game go for it.

I want to play with some people that know how to fly helicopters. Nothing beats getting in the gunners seat to have the pilot take off and strafe sideways into a telephone pole.

 

I'm half-way decent. I can't say I haven't crashed into a few poles myself though.

 

I don't claim to be the best pilot, but I am pretty lethal in the gunner's seat. I also managed to score my second kill (a tank) in an FA-18 the other night, finally unlocking the flares.

 

Yep.

There are times when I'm in the gunner's seat and the pilot dives toward the ground in a point of which my mind tells me, "EJECT". By the time I do, the pilot makes a smooth recovery and flies away. There are times I can't tell if they are a good pilot, or just plain lucky.

 

I was with a really good pilot yesterday. He was diving low to shed locks and break LOS with ground fire, circling back to regen, bringing me around for good cannon/rocket passes. Then we went toe to toe with a Havoc and I got magically killed by a rocket that only hit me. The pilot lived, but I died. I did get at least 5 kills and like 6 destroyed vehicles.

 

lol, I hate it when that happens. Especially being a pilot, when I die and helicopter just freefalls to the ground and the gunner is like, "Yo dawg! Why did you crash into the ground, herp derp.?!".

 

I must say i have a lot respect for you now as a mgs fan Shobster.

 

Damn helicopters be lethal.
Only way to kill a good pilot is to get the whole team launch stingers at the chopper or get a lucky shot with a tank.

 

Or steal a jet and go helo tipping.

(Doesn't kill or hurt the jet, but the helo dies)
