Official NBR Battlefield 3 Clan Server Thread

This happened to me yesterday. I got hit a few times by cannon fire and was at about 75% or so, then all of a sudden went 90 degrees sideways and smashed right into the ground.

 

Found out about it after dying a few times by it.

At first, I thought it was the mobile AA, but they nerfed it. Couple times later, it was the same guy in a jet.

Kinda sux though, you get stuck between a rock and a hard place in countering jets.

 

I just get the mobile AA and lay waste to the choppers. Just firing at them and getting a few hits usually scares them away long enough to cap a point.

 

CITV + Guided Shell.

Although sadly chopper pilots with Guided Rockets kind of counter this tactic. Or simply flying right above the tank.

EDIT: A laser designation + Guided missile from the jet work as well for a 1-hit kill but i'd rather take rocket pods.

 

The Mobile AA is good fun. I've yet to figure out why some dudes fire off flares while I'm lighting them up with it.

It took me forever to figure out which vehicle was the US mobile AA. Kind of weird that the US doesn't really have anything comparable to the Tunguska in real life, but I guess AA cannons don't get much use in real combat.

 

How does that CITV + Guided Shell work btw? Does one guy have to use the CITV station while another shoots the guided shell? I chose the guided shell, but it wouldn't shoot.

 

Someone need to designate them in order to use guided shells. Either CITV, Air Laser Painting or soflam.

By jolly very effective for noobs like me to take down helos without the canister unlocked.

 

Exactly. You can lock on ground targets without laser designation though.

 

good news! a new patch for clients and servers on PC is coming out on Dec. 6, and quote: "Also, it will once again be possible to reduce the number of players required to start a round to 1 both in ranked and unranked mode. We changed it back after getting a lot of negative feedback from both individuals and the RSP companies." now we can play on the NBR server once again...

 

So I could test my fps or plan c4 on vehicles.

 

I should be able to be more involved now. I will do what I can! And great news about the patch changing start mode to 1 player. Whew.

IRNV nerfed too. Muahahaha. I liked IRNV though for dark maps so I can actually see something. Now only snipers, er, recon will have the nasty 12x scopes (or whatever).

Overall looks like a good patch.

 

Yeah this is excellent news. It should enable us finally get our server going again. I was feeling terrible about having started it, but hopefully it will pick back up quick.

I also like the weakened IRNV and especially this... "Decreased the effectiveness of 12g FRAG ammo when equipped on semi-automatic and automatic shotguns."

 

Anyone want to get a game going tonight?

I'm glad that a patch is on the way for servers, because now that I think about it I really haven't played BF3 at all (let alone on our server) since the last patch. Granted I've been busy irl but even when I do have free time right now I've just been playing terraria of all things

 

Can't play tonight. My Uni is playing football in the Big 10 championship.

 

I'll be around tonight. I'm glad we can get our server going again, it made me sad that it was just sitting there, empty, rotating through maps even though nobody was playing

Me and Dr. Deagle did the co-op stuff the other day. It was good fun and I am more than willing to do it again with any of you. Apparently its not a beat and unlock thing its score driven so you have to farm it.

You guys get a small taste of what its like on 3 screens too since I didn't plan this as a recording session I just recorded it on whim when I was playing multi monitor.

Sorry to bump up the thread but i was just gonna say that the Mumble server will be down for an hour or two depending on how long the electrician does his / her thing.

I dont have a UPS capable of sustaining both my server, NAS and still keep the Altibox FiOS juiced up.

Il might be online, it all depends but i dont think i can do allot of voice chatting because other people are sleeping. xD

 

Depends on if my kids are sleeping or not too. Otherwise you can hear my kids or if they're sleeping I just don't want to talk too loudly otherwise they hear me awake and want to come sit with me.

Oh and DEagleson, your Mumble server. For some reason the delay between us was literally about 60 seconds. It was funny when ValkerieFire and I were on, you would comment on somthing that happened like a minute ago. Like "There's a tank shooting me at B" and we had already blown it up a minute earlier, lol.

 

Hmm, i dont know why there would be such a big delay.
What kind of ping do you guys get?
At home i get 1ms to 2ms since i connect locally but it cant be worse than 150ms.
Thats what i get when playing on the NBR server.

 

I'm in New York and the delay is barely noticeable, around 0.5 - 1 seconds, not more than that.

 

I'm in Boston and my ping to your server last time was like 150ms.

Not sure the ping, but it was a LONG delay. Valkerie and I were laughing about it near the end.

 

I get 250ms in Las Vegas, but it is still usable. Philiphan (agolfhither) and I played last night (he is in Europe), and we could easily talk and coordinate with it. Too bad I am cannon fodder and he is a one man army.

Offering up my "practice server" now that it's unranked and starting with 1 player. Now you can die and not affect your stats. All weapons are unlocked too. Feel free to play around. Starts with 1 player with 30 minute idle timeout.
