NVIDIA Unleashes Beastly Quadro P6000 With 24GB GDDR5X, 3840 CUDA Cores For Pro Graphics Market
If you think you’ve seen the best that NVIDIA’s Pascal graphics architecture has to offer, you ain’t seen nothing yet. NVIDIA impressed us with the enthusiast-class GeForce GTX 1080 (8.2 TFLOPs, 2560 CUDA cores @ 1.6GHz) and surprised everyone with the new Titan X (11 TFLOPs, 3584 CUDA cores @ 1.4GHz). But there is yet another monster that has been brewing over in NVIDIA’s development labs, and it’s aimed squarely at the professional market. We introduce to you the new Quadro P6000, which was announced today at SIGGRAPH 2016. The Quadro P6000 is even a step beyond the Titan X, with 3840 CUDA cores and 12 TFLOPs of compute power at its disposal. NVIDIA says that all of this power on tap will allow the Quadro P6000 to “manipulate complex designs” up to two times faster than its predecessor. You won’t find High Bandwidth Memory here (aka HBM2), but the professional graphics card does pack in a massive 24GB of 10GHz GDDR5X memory. HBM2 is reserved for NVIDIA’s flagship Tesla GPUs.

Oh sorry. might have been out of hurry at that moment.

I think that 1080 will fit in P870. But I also think it will cost a lot, and won't fit before someone tweaks the vBIOS :D

I've had 2-3 resellers tell me in confidence that the P870DM would be the only model able to accommodate the larger cards. It is 99% certain.

Oh and yes, the 1080 WILL be ridiculously expensive. More than the 980 DT as a module.

Thanks for the info brother. Well hotdog I know what I want.
So it's looking like 2x1070(m) or 1x1080 perhaps for the Clevo P870DM-G.
I don't see it costing much more than US$1200 of the 980D now. If it's anymore than that I'll just get a 1070(m) and double down at a later date.

I'm not sure about the 1070 SLI tho, it all depends on how large the cards are.

Well, if you already have the machine, you might have to wait until Q4 of 2016 to get your hands on a module unless you have really good relations with a reseller.

If you're looking for the machine I'd say late september/early october.

I mean, you guys said the 1060 was the new 970M, and Clevo has done this with the 970M while managing to keep heat lower than its 13.3" predecessor, all while making it thinner & lighter. Only issue is battery life, which I'm sure will also be addressed.

You're making fun of me, aren't you? :confused:The point of a smaller notebook is to unplug it and use it while out and about, unlike the desktop-replacement P870DM. My current laptop nets about five hours of light browsing and document creation, while still being decently powerful, and has an rPGA CPU (but a BGA GPU and yes, it's not a GTX 980, but I can play games at playable frame-rates - that's what matters). I see no reason why processing power and battery life have to be mutually exclusive.

Or a 1070 even. If they only can deliver 1070m then what I want to u defatted is. Which is stronger. 1070m or 1060. And if they are near identical. Then it's pointless having one or the other if the performance is the same. For it to make sense it has to be a difference of day a 960m and 965m between the two in favour of the 1070m whilst the 1070 is the difference like a 970m difference which is the case.
But thing is would you prefer a 1060 or a 1070m in your 14"?

I'd have to say 1070m even if there was nothing between them. I liked how having a laptop that I had second tier card. Sounds mad powerful than mid range.
But if they can do better and add 1070 in 14" then I'd be happy for 12 months before the refresh. And if the previous difference is anything to by like 870m to 970m. Then it be very impressive.
But I think any gtx card from 1060 upwards is impressive now. Just not price.

It doesn't at least as far as nvidia has done a good job in holding off any information. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if they've purposely held out so they can sale some of the expensive desktop variants for a few months before m versions make it out because the pricing of the ones we know about is just absurd. It's almost as if nvidia has gone. "We've made all these great graphics card over the years and the prices have always been relative. We should increase our prices like we do our performance" lol.

Again, I never said that, lol.

The main issue with a 13" - 14" notebook that houses a desktop GPU is an inadequate PSU. They usually come with 120W-130W PSU's. I'd be surprised if it came with a 180W or 230W.

I have thought about that in the past. Wouldn't you just use a bigger psu that fits? So it draws enough power when overclocking. Or when we upgraded CPUs with higher watts and like wise for upgraded gpus? I know most people I read obsess about the size of the psu as a negative in reviews which is probably why we only get smaller sized ones that's just enough for the laptop as a whole on full power.

That video is too hilarious. Thanks for sharing it. Gates wins, but since Windows 10 I think we won the battle but lost the war. Now we're stuck with a piece of trash from Micro$loth and little or no possibility of Mac OS ever being truly relevant in the grand scheme of things, LOL.

If Pascal mobile cards will truly be desktop cards with the same cores and lower clocks then I think that's good. However they will all be soldered except for the high end MSI, Clevo laptops.

    I think P870DM owner's will be happy. :)

    I totally hope so!

But think that even BGA users will have good power in their hands. BGA power, but still really good performance!

I think that advancing makes everyone happy, I just hope they don't drop MXM cards

Totally hope we're not going to need to build our own new OS based off old windows + new windows + Linux :D

Maybe they'll come back to their normal good OS state ?

Are you using it, and as a power user?

All settings are more complicated to make, power users have a harder time controlling things, some things are embedded and hard to take off, it's full of spyware / bloatware, takes one a lot of time before it's a good OS and you can use it for daily activities.

Performance wise, it's really awful until you de-activate a lot of things, and tweak a lot of things. It is usable, but in the long run, I run a custom build that I need to edit down to registry / basic levels to work for me. Not extremely fun to do every time you install windows.

I get performance somewhat as all other windows versions since windows 7, but I've always run a custom built... Windows 10, and 8 needed the MOST changes before being a good to go OS for everyday work.

They're getting it to feel like a child's OS with only uninteresting settings, and defaults that put power users in disadvantage.

A small example of the beginning http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/28/microsoft-removes-policies-windows-10-pro/  And the future with this pastel junk will be pitch-black!! :bigyes: Maybe Micro$haft should merge with Apple? The new name will perhaps be MicroApple or something like that? M$ want be the new Apple!! So Why not?

What truly underscores the depth of Micro$loth leadership incompetence and greed is they aspire to be similar to a product that holds an insignificant and irrelevant market share. Mac OS is a minuscule fraction of the market and trying to be even somewhat like them is the wrong thought process. The reason they are a tiny fraction of the market is the tiny fraction of people that like it. But, they want 100% and they are willing to screw the 99% that don't want it to gain an extra 0.2% market share by appealing to Mac-boys. I think the Redmond Mafia has been infiltrated by Apple spies to try to kill them from within... like a Trojan Horse concept, because they cannot complete otherwise. Micro$loth will end up killing itself if it continues on its one-man race for the stupidity crown.

I second this. They are jealous of the way Apple milks it's customers. Trying to follow that scheme when you come from a different world (win xp -> win 7) is just crazy. MS doesn't have the experience Apple has on closed systems and fan base or Google on ad revenew and selling it's analytics data to 3rd parties. They are shooting themselves on the foot like this and we get hurt in the process. Don't spit on the hand that feeds you o_O

    End of rant.

On track now: I hope the mobile Pascal quadro they showed comes out in a normal mxm form factor.
