Steam Forums are pretty much getting DoS attacked because of all the refreshes and spam posts and all that crap.

Congrats either way. -
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
yeah.
golden potatoes are now getting it early (and the valve complete pack)
Have fun vicious -
The problem with the Valve Complete Pack is that most people own pretty much all their stuff. I know I do.
-
Heh, I'd be mad if I won that, since I literally own every game in that pack. Maybe they should do something else, like a certain amount of Steam credit.
-
Lulz. Potatoes hovering around 60,000. tell me this isn't rigged.

It's a perpetual potato machine. McDonald's has nothing on GLaDOS!

it also hangs at 12/13/14/15%, 32%, and 64%
I'm at 32% -
Portal 2 needs to update.
Awww hell nawwww. When your download speed is 100KB/s on Steam... it's gonna take a while.

and just for random statement of the day: if everything would've worked out last weekend, i'd have played the glados song as my set-ending on a big party with around 2000 people.. sadly, my computer most likely was GlaDOS infected, too. It restarted on stage doing windows updates while I was playing...

Well. I've been having fun. I hope that your connection manages to get it down as quickly as possible Mastershroom.
BTW, decryption took a while on the i7-720QM as well. -

I had the "incomplete installation" bug.
had to verify cache, get the error again, try again a few times, and then the steam servers weren't so overloaded that it was able to activate my game.
game looks impressive. I can max it out on my system (minus AA and Vsync).
seem to get a minor bit of fps drop here or there (to the 30s or so) but eh. Push come to shove I'll drop something down but for now maxing out -
They have an in-game store. Stupid stuff costs $1-$7.50 each. You can buy everything in the store to start for $35. Sorry not interested in spending money to play Mr. Potato Head.

Well ran out of time need to go to work, got to chamber 19/22 its starting to get pretty challenging now, that last one #18 was the first that had me stumped for a bit.
Cant believe they have bot customizing for co-op and even a store to buy items, its TF2 all over again but maybe worse.
Edit: just caught up on the thread.
I have 0 items in my backpack and the store was closed when I tried to look at it.
I hope that the 2 pack is not the reason for not having items, that would be super lame, but I would consider that a bug and think they would honor those who pre-ordered via 2 pack and not just those who got a single game. Esp since they dropped the price to $40 for the single game, same price as the 2 pack split between 2 people. -
stuck at 32%...
-
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
no items, didn't order the two pack.
so *shrugs* -
Apparently the items are being removed for some people. I think VALVe might be fixing the glitch and removing the hats that you guys didn't buy or something.
-
Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
I wasn't aware that they are pulling a TF2 in this as well. What is next? A L4D2 MP Store?
-
Portal 2 is overrated.
Yeah, I said it. *waits for flames* -
-
The game runs very well, I guess it should've been obvious given it's still running on Source. But yeah looks great and runs smooth on my 2011 MBP. If anyone cares here's my gameplay video of it.
First ten minutes of gameplay, so yeah I guess *spoilers* possible.

Enjoying it so far, think ill have the game finished in one day. Almost one sitting.
Im in Chapter 6 now and there cant be much more left.
In terms of money SC2 was a much better investment it took a lot longer to beat and the online game is constantly evolving and changing. New maps/games/modes all the time.
Portal 2 has the new co-op feature, this can really extend the life of the game, and it seems they have intentions of doing so with a full blown trading outlet, a store, and all these accessories for the bots.
Its insane $35.00 it cost to buy all the current "accessories" almost the cost of the full game just for some minor cosmetics that honestly dont even look that great. Totally new models would be a better purchase rather than just a little makeup.
So my thing with co-op is that portal 2 is not a game with huge replay value, the first time you do a puzzle is the only "real" experience with the game, once you know how to do it and have done it before there is little reason in doing it again.
Thinking co-op will work the same way, playing with randoms and friends will add a small bit of varity but still you will only want to do the same maps so many times before it feels pointlss. Consitering I see all this stuff with the store and bot customizing I hope this is a sign that they plan to also be adding new maps/puzzles and not just new gear.
I also hope we can have player made maps show up and playable easily between multiple people like you would any other comptuer game (mostly FPS, just join the server and DL the map) my fear is this PS3 cross play is going to ruin this option. Already it states that if you have skins that people playing on PS3 cant see them. If the PS3 cant even download a skin, how is it supposed to be able to play new levels?
Maybe they should keep things like this exclusive to PC honestly I think its better for the games life in the long run due to how so many old games carry on a new life through the mods and efforts of the community, and if its on console lockdown its like putting a dead end sign out in the road ahead of time. -
Good morning everyone!
Instead of decrypting, I simply deleted the exe file and some other weird files, and started I verified the integrity of game cache. Stuck at 32%
Bah, I will re-download it... -
It stays at 32% for a LONG time, depending on your CPU. Mine went to 32% for a good ten minutes maybe then all of a sudden it was done.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Mine was slow but not too slow, it happened in the background while I was talking with HT and done before I know it.
I had SSD though and a quad core i7 doing the job so I am sure it was faster than some other machines. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yeah quad and SSD here and did not take long here either.
-
Don't redownload. Decryption will be stuck at 32 for a while (10 mins) then it will speed through. Started the game last night btw. I like the sharper graphics but vicious is right about the game being relatively short lived. Perhaps some sort of online/ctf/team based multiplayer could help with this.

God, this game is worth 100! The music, the gameplay, the graphics, the optimization, the FUN...! GOTY for sure.
