That is full of WIN! -
Anyone else pick up the Golden Potato? I ended up pulling an all nighter to get it on Saturday. I like free stuff.
Now just to get my cast off so I can really play... -
ViciousXUSMC got the golden potato.
-
He swings his giant sword and then stomps Aperture Science front door. They had to give him that golden potato to keep him away

*gets to chapter 6*
wow.
ha. maaan. this game is great -
Is a Radeon HD5670 enough for this game? 1920x1200 monitor. I haven't played a game on PC since Vice City and I just happened to buy a video card yesterday.
-
I'm excited for player made content.
chapter three now, I will do more tonight when I get home. -

Well since I'm going all 1600x900 35-ish fps maxed AF, 0 AA, maxed everything else on my 5650 mobility.
I'm pretty sure your 5670 can handle it. -
I run maxed everything, no lag. 5850 is good enough. Don't know the FPS though.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Yeah I can easily run it on the 5870M with no stuttering at any kind and the game looks very stunning. Compared to Half Life 2, Portal 2 looks like it is using a totally new engine. That tells you the testament to how Source over the last half a decade can still adapt on graphics without significantly boosting the specifications. I believe Portal 2 is the latest iteration to Source's flagship as a game engine (with TF 2 the previous flagship).
I am also at Chapter 6. Every time I felt the game ended, there is always a new twist! -
Vicious is doing a marathon and is probably finished by now
-
Love this game so far
I get around 70-80 fps on my 3 GB nvidia 555m (900p) -
Lots of hate for the DLC in this game. Metacritics reviews are at a 96 for reviewers and 59 for consumers... every one is whining at how much the NON-Important DLC's, cost...
Also lots of hate because of the length. I don't think they realize there is an editor to be released sometime, or that there's co-op. -
I think people are bitter in general because of the false perception that Portal 2 was going to be released over the weekend, the crappy award for the 36 potatoes, cheaper pricing at launch opposed to pre-order, and other minor quibbles.
So far though I am liking the game, just a little too same-same as Portal 1 but I haven't progressed very far yet. -
Just a friendly reminder:
Use spoiler tags if you want to talk about the plot! I'm still loading and probably will be for another few days...I don't want to read anything! -
Good point, yes please use spoiler tags. I will be taking my time because, well, I have to and don't want it ruined. I've avoided any spoilers so far.
-
LOL at my ENTIRE Steam friendslist being on Portal 2. I can't play it for another day yet
-
technically they are not DLCs. They are more of microtransaction items like in TF2. And you can find them in game just like in TF2; and most importantly, they are all OPTIONAL.

Co-op is so fun... Thanks again for giving me the copy of Portal 1 this weekend ViciousXUSMC!! Finished it on Sunday and bought part 2, I'm addicted, haha
-
If it's not too hard, can you rate the game with two scores, one for single and the other for coop? -
Not bad a run as well. Now I just need to finish of the campaign -

You saw all the typing errors I was making in game.
I liked it, ill give a little mini review later tonight maybe in its own thread. -
Haven't played co-op yet. Too busy replaying singleplayer. -
Hey guys that are Steam IM'ing me, sorry if I don't respond right away. I usually turn off in-game chat because it usually happens at the most inopportune times and distracts me, or in some games I actually use Shift-Tab combo (BFBC2 comes to mind).

single player was absolutely great. can't wait to play co-op with a friend.

I don't think people would want to play with me because my mic's broken and don't wanna buy another

and have some friends waiting to join me laters. we'll see...

Loved single player, played a bit of coop with pistachio. This really is going to be a tough choice for GOTY this year, p2 deserves the 95 metacritic gave it.
I thought I was taking my time (looked around for easter eggs and simple achievements) and SP took about 10 hrs. It's no mass effect or dain terms of length, but the humor in it kills me.

Ghaa...35% downloaded. Forget "a day or two", this is going to take all week, and that's assuming I leave my phone tethered to the computer 24/7. >_<
-
-
I guess I could just take my netbook, download the entire 10GB and transfer it to an external hard drive, but that would make the 37% I've already downloaded here seem really stupid.
I wish there were a way to transfer partially downloaded games to finish downloading them elsewhere. -
-
Had to stop playing last night. xD
Puzzles be very hard when fainting of lack of sleep.
Btw here at Aperture science we start from scratch. -
I wish I could play Portal 2
I pre-ordered at Best Buy, and when I went today to go pick it up, they didn't have mine in stockI wish I bought it on Steam now.

and skip to post 20 in that thread, a valve employee responds. -
Actually the response from the employee sounds like:
if your cousin makes a separate steam account, he/she will be able to activate it and play coop with you (of course you have to be on ps3). This basically means ultimately you get two copies of portal 2 if you buy ps3 version. However, you only get one copy of portal 2 through Steam on PC because VALVe were not able to do so the other way due to some kind of technical issues. -
I remember reading a similar case over there.

Going to get some co-op going here in a bit. Finishing up a product review then onto gaming!

I was afraid that my laptop couldn't run Portal 2 because I have the 9300m GS, but luckily the graphics haven't been updated. Anyways, I have just finished it, and it is great! It took me around 6 hours. I would give it 9 out of 10. The story is top notch and it really sucked me in! I played 4 hours in a row because I wanted to hear the end of the story
.
I can recommend it.
Cheers. -
Six hours? I've been in it at leastsix hours and am still in Chapter 7...
-
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
it roughly took me 6 hours to beat single player, but I was going kinda fast at times.
