    Oddworld?

Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exxodus...both are available on Steam...

Blackthorne from Blizzard, but that would require DosBox which is an emulator...but if you go that way, then you open up Prince of Persia, Flashback, Jazz Jackrabbit, Commander Keen, Duke Nukem I and II and Manhattan Project (which slides into 3D much like Fade to Black after Flashback)...Manhattan Project is available on gog.com and while not a pure 2D side scroller may satisfy that itch....

Bionic Commando: Rearmed is also a nice little side-scroller. Might also wanna check out Booster Trooper.

Hello! guys well I'm going to tell my situation. I'm in my sister house and the internet here is not fast at all. I barely can use youtube. I was thinking to spend 60 dollars in games on steam. They must be single player and entertaining ! =D
I heard about crysis and crysis warhead but I dont know if they game sucks or not. I want to play the new fallout new vegas but oh well hahaha so guys tell me what do you think I should buy?

Those are a three good candidates right there except Fallout is more of an RPG w\guns than it is a shooter.

    I recommend:

    Bioshock
    Crysis
Fallout 3 + New Vegas (Rpgs)
Borderlands (multiplayer but has great single player campaign)
Mafia II (sandbox 3rd person shooter)
    Darksiders (not a shooter)
Dead Rising 2 (not a shooter)
Bioshock 2 (not as good as the first)
Transformers war for cybertron (3rd person)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Games (awesome unique shooters but does not fit everyone's tastes)

Well I only test splinter cell conviction on my m11x so like ... I wanted to try something ''bigger''. I played bioshock only. I wanted a game to pass my time you know like 3 weeks till I get black ops for my ps3 =). I think I'm going to get crysis but I dont know if I'll get medium graphics with my m11x r1.

How about Mass effect and Mass Effect 2, or Assassin's Creed 2.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas are huge games 100+ hours if you do side missions.

what graphics card have you got.depending which you got you might get medium settings which will be fine.
crysis is a great game and will keep you going until blackops.
thing is if youve got a bad internet connection then playing through steam needs the internet so you might struggle a bit.

I got the Nvidia 335M pretty good graphics card. I heard that fallout new vegas runs like a dream on computers instead of 360 and ps3 that needs more time between loadings and play. Mass effect is an interesting choice....I played the demo....But I wanted to play the first one because my mate told that the game got a perfect story. I'm thinking between crysis+crysis warhead or fallout new vegas >.<

4.8gb download which is exceptionally small for such a huge game.

Square Enix is almost as bad as Ubisoft for craptastic console ports. Not saying Just Cause 2 isn't a worthy game, but found that game is pretty difficult to run, seems horribly coded.

You can always get Starcraft 2 and play the single player campaign. Can buy and download at battle.net. Other good, fun, RTS games is Company of Heroes.

Or for FPS Borderlands, Mass Effect 2, Half-Life 2 if you haven't played yet.

Sins of a Solar Empire and Civilization 4 pack are fun and can take tons of time if you're just bored and want to spend time doing something.

not sure if it still comes with it but crysis warhead used to come with the free multiplayer crysis wars. so if you but the package youd get 3 games for price of 2.

Yeah, its on the same level as CoD 4's SP, which was pretty amazing. I think I actually like the MoH singleplayer more than the CoD 4 singleplayer, although it is a bit short.

I'm looking for a good pc rpg or shooter with a good single player campaign. I pretty much fail at multiplayer so I only look at storyline/gameplay and not unique/awesome multiplayer campaigns.

What games have you played recently? We'd be wasting our time listing games that you've possibly already played. That said, I'd highly recommend Mass Effect 1 & 2, they're mostly RPG with some shooter mixed in. Some of the best games I've ever played, and behind only Chrono Trigger for best storyline.

I would recommend CoD 2, 4, World at War, BFBC2 and Section 8 as these are some of the only FPS's with SP campaigns I found worthwhile. On the RPG/FPS side, the Stalker series is way worth the time if you follow the campaign through as well as Fallout 3. I even liked the orig Far Cry campaign and of course Crysis though Crysis campaigns can be completed in a sitting but there are tons of downloadable missions for Crysis.

Any good FPS' that are also cheap? or any decent COD4 servers?

The servers I like are always empty now, sick of MW2 and not a fan of Bad Company 2. Also kind of bored with L4D 1 and 2.

I need a good, always played FPS multiplayer, I've narrowed it down to these

1.CS:S - I know your all like WHAT but I've been console gaming for a while time to get back into pc, this is an option

2.Frontline:fuel of war - looks decent, does it have an active communtiy, and is there xp leveling? stat tracking?

    3. BF2142 - Is there a good strong community?

    4. BF2

    5. BFBC2 - I own this already on PS3 but it died now thinking of rebuying it here

    6. CoDBlack Ops

    7. UT3 - Already own on ps3 but if the community is strong on pc ill pick it up

    8. L4D 1 or 2 - which ever has more people

    9. MoH

So what will it be, or if there is another well played, balanced and fairly cheater less fps multiplayer please list.

H.A.W.X. but it's extremely arcade (think Ace Combat) so I don't like it. At the other end of the spectrum you have Lock On Modern Air Combat which is a bit old but it's extremely realistic and it's kinda annoying.

I prefer something in the middle, which currently does not exist.
