Why yes, i've searched for video gameplay and review for Mass Effect. I think i liked it, i'll buy it once i visit a retail shop. Thanks for your recommendation man, you really helped me out.![]()

I've played through both Mass Effect 1 and 2 a few times, and if I had more time there would be many more playthroughs. How you play reflects in the future games, and it's supposed to really show through in the third one that comes out early next year.

You might like The Witcher series. I can't speak much to the replay value, but they are excellent examples of PC RPGs. The enhanced edition of original Witcher is $10 US on most sites and is a fantastic game.

Ok so I'm going to tell you guys a little short story. I am an RPG gamer, I enjoy all games as long as there is an RPG element to it. Even certain action games are amazing because of the RPG element IE Batman, GTA, etc. I am not a FPS gamer, I am also not a sports gamer....until my co-worker introduced me to NBA 2k12. I am a huge basketball fan but I never could get in to the games because I just don't enjoy competitive games as much as I used to. 2K introduced something called MyPlayer where you start off as a recently drafted new comer to the NBA. You customize your character from their looks to their weight and height. Trust me when I say, your weight and height play a HUGE factor in how well you perform on the court. I feel like I enjoy this game for 2 reasons: 1. I enjoy basketball and 2. I enjoy RPGs. So is 2K12 an RPG, no; not by a long shot but is MyPlayer an RPG...kind of. I am this player I created, his performance is my performance and it effects how well (or bad) the game is played out.
So this is to anyone wanting to try something new, try NBA 2k12/MyPlayer. You may actually get the type of enjoyment I get from it. -
By the way, you may also want to check out Deus Ex: Human Revolutions. It's a 3rd person shooter/RPG.
-
Thanks man i'll check on it asap.
-
EA's NHL 11 is like this too, shame it's not on the PC.
-
I haven't taken a full look into the settings, but it would be nice to shorten the season at times in NHL. 82 games per season can get a tad long, especially when you are sitting there hoping for a trade
-
Yeah, I got drafted by the Blues, so I did it again and manually picked the Bruins

That's awesome dude - why didn't they release it on PC? -
They probably just didn't think it was worth the extra money to put together a PC version. It's too bad, because it's really cool.
-
Getawayfrommelucas Notebook Evangelist
lol thats weak man. From what I've read NBA 2k12 is a straight console port, nothing special was done for PC -
Well, 2k12 is also a different company.
-
Best free to play MMO?

Now? DCU without a doubt -
Not a huge fan of superhero games but I may give it a shot.
-
How's Red Orchestra 2? I'm kinda missing WWII style games and RO2 seems like a fun game to play.
-

Can highly recommend Batman: Arkham City
Ran beautifully on Dx9 with my clevo 2820 and Ati 6990M
60fps all the way through from start to finish... -
Can anyone recommend me a good RTS game? I am a fan of Generals Zero Hour and Homeworld 2.
-
Starcraft (if you don't mind older graphics) and Starcraft 2.
-
can anyone suggest any good turn based games.
like Jagged alliance 2, Xcom series, UFO series, silent storm? kinda miss those kind of games.
or a good flight ww2 based flight sim games? -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
IL-2 series is the way to go for you. -
Which other games comes close to or is like -
SWAT 4: The Stetchkov Syndicate
Thanks -
Just a question guys, I'm about to buy a dvd of Skyrim. What's the downside of having the DVD instead just downloading the game?
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Hmmm, that's a tough one. There seems to be a lack of such type of games. Probably Rainbow Six comes close, I played some RS which came a while ago and I mean about 8 years of something. So I guess you, like me, stuck playin' good 'ol SWAT 4. There's somewhere an online petition for SWAT 5. Go ahead and sign it! In the mean time try playing some COOP. I really enjoy SWAT 4 TS COOP. There aren't a lot of servers, but still, it's better than nothing.
But I really don't get it, why developers won't use SWAT formula to make a great FPS. It's 100500 time more realistic than CoD type dog poo, the gameplay isn't anything like everything else. But I guess it's to complicated for today's casual console player. -
There's no downside if you have a DVD drive. It will still be tied to Steam once you install it (it uses Steamworks) so you have at least the base game on disc and you can get a backed up fully updated version if you choose to keep an archive.
-
I agree
& people who did not try it MUST
-
Looking for a free mmorpg to try until GW2...I play Vindictus, it was a good game until several months ago (Nexon keeps failing and failing).
Preferably decent graphics, action, and is not cash shop dependent. I tried Dragon's Nest.. too kiddy for me and poor party system. -
Try Rainbow Six: Raven Shield and its expansion packs. The graphics are oldish but decent, and the missions are top quality. There is even a mission planning phase where you define what each squad does when, including breaching doors with explosives or looking at a specific flank while moving crouched.
And it's something like 4 euros on Amazon UK!
-
A think a good RPG series is the Gothic branch
Gothic 1-3 are only pc but Gothic 4 is pc and xbox
World of Gothic -
guys can you recommend me a slice and dice game? something like devil may cry series with combo/slashing etc. the only latest i have seen something like this is alice madness returns.
-
Kingdom under fire is a slice and dice that includes some strategy. it is a series im not sure which is the latest one.
-
How 'bout skyrim?
-
Are there any fun hot-seat games similar to the old HOMMs and Master of Orions?
-
Hey y'alls! I'm looking for a new game to put on this 'ere laptop. I'd prefer it be bought through Steam and it is necessary it is under $15. (I have some leftover on this Visa gift card!)
I'm really a fan into strategy games, realistic-type. Not a big guy with the sci-fi. And I like games that have 'depth' or like, there's more to the surface of it. Suppose you show it to someone who has never seen it before and they cannot tell you everything about it. I loved Civilization V and Age of Empires III. Turn-based or realtime is nice. I have been looking at the Total War series and it looks pretty fun.
Not into FPS on a laptop, though.
Sooo any suggestions?
-
Looks like the total war series is right up your alley. I haven't played any, but i believe Shogun 2 is pretty good.
-
REALLY NEED help.. I am mostly a sports and fps gamer however I've played skyrim and have almost 50 hours into it in the past 2 weeks lol. I don't really like RPGs but skyrim is simply amazing but anyways I'm growing tired of it, my character is a wrecking ball in the game and I just get on now to do a couple missions and then I get bored. I've been switching on and off bf3 but that too gets a bit boring after a couple rounds. someone please recommend me a game, I don't care about the price, I would like awesome graphics, I've looked at the fallouts and the graphics are just blah, mass effect is not something I can get into, I tried it and just the space and sci-fi feeling does not appeal to me. Star wars definately no, I've looked at metro 2033 but I don't like cliches US vs Russia, that's overplayed. I don't think I would like a military shooter I don't know I need some serious help, oh and I don't like command and conquer or anno, not my type of game, LA noire I've already beaten, GTAs I have beaten also, I'm screwd
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Metro 2033 isn't just another US vs. Russia cliche. Where's nothing about that in the story, well, except that the mess that people are in was caused by nuclear war between those countries. Try it.
-
I will take another look at it, it didn't look appealing. Any other suggestions? I tried saints row the third and didn't really like it, it was too kiddish and too much just get out and shoot and drive although the beginning 20 minutes were awesome after that the game was meh. I really need an expansion to skyrim, I'm losing my breath without it
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Red Orchestra 2? I really dunno what you're into
.
-
Never heard of it, I'll check that one out also, I'm into sports, shooters, zombies, games like skyrim but not fallout or mass effect like. I like open world games but don't like star wars or any platform games like diablo or command and conquer
-
Try half life 2. Possibly the witcher games. Also look at deus ex: human revolution and the Batman arkham city/asylum games
-
I know the graphics are childish but there are few really fun games that don't require fancy graphics.
I would recommend you download the Build-a-lot series from Big Fish Games. If you are looking to occupy your time with something new, I found Build-a-lot to become very addicting at times.
Burger Shop and Burger Shop 2 is one of those repetitive games that can consume a lot of your time.
Plants vs. Zombies is a definite winner.
And Angry Birds... SUCKS. +1 for anyone who agrees with me. Screw Angry Birds! -
lol my girlfriend stays playing big fish games. I've played half life and both batman arkham asylum and city, I was looking at the witcher 2 seems to be battling with deus ex right now
-
I'm really on the fence about the witcher 2? anyone have it? what do you think?
-
Some good FPS with more recent graphics I've played were Borderlands, Duke Nukem Forever, Quake 4, Unreal Tournament III. Borderlands may be fun for you as it's an FPS but has RPG elements like leveling up, acquiring new weapons, buying accessories, etc. The others contain some old school FPS fun especially if you enjoy multiplayer.
Definitely look into Saints Row The Third if you haven't played it. I see you've played some GTA so you might like this one. That's all I've got at the moment for recent titles. -
yeah I think this is the first sign that I've been playing way too many games, I've already played borderlands and I'm waiting on the second one.
Saints row the third was fun for the first 20 minutes then it just got silly
I'm very interested in witcher 2 I'm going to go home and watch some youtube videos on it to help me decide, from what I've read so far it seems to be somewhat of a different game than most, like the fighting remnids me of assassins creed meets batman meets some magic mixed in, which is not bad so I'm interested in it. As far as the story goes I have no idea how it plays or how you develop your character. I think that will be the one I end up going with however my buddy recommended that I play deus ex, I saw him play on the ps3 and he was getting his @$$ raped by the cpu ai so it looks challenging, it's tough to decide meanwhile I've been jumping into some bf3 to get a couple rounds of adrenaline in, I think I'm just suffering from playing skyrim for 40 plus hours now I feel like my life is worthless -
So what games are most people playing online now-a-days?
I'm asking because I have gift card for 25 bux for target, and I figured I can burn those on a game of some sort.
Call of Duty MW2 was 30 bux so I guess I could add 5 if it's worth, i.e. lots of online players ...
otherwise please recommend me something. I like Unreal Tournament 3 and that is what I'm playing online (since an year already). I believe I can play pretty much anything at 1024x768 as my GPU is overclocked by some 55%
thanks.
