lol, as the other guy said...in his sig.
    [intel] [email protected] = cpu
    evga x58 = mobo
    sli evga gtx285 = gfx
    3x intel x25m 80gb ssd raid 0 = SSD
    dell 3008wfp = monitor

if u want to know about the case, ram or other misc. (kb/mice etc.) then u can ask him. most of the important stuff is there (i can most def. say that it's a custom build, i doubt a person who bought ready-made HP/Dell desktops would OC their 920 to 4.2GHz (assuming that is a i7-920?) lol

and...as always, darkness62 has the best screenshots! lol btw, i ditched my 360, havent touched that thing in at least a 1 month, too busy with PS3 + PC :)

How is Divinity, combat wise and gameplay? I am really not a huge fan of rpg, but is this game hack and slack rpg kind of like torchlight/diablo?

its a hack n slash if you play as a melee character.i havent played those games so i would say its closer to Fable so you have skills and such you can use and lvl. You can be a melee, ranger or magic user or a combination. There is a target system so no worries about missed shots or magic spells. all you have to do is set it up in the controls tab. Oh and you also transform into a dragon. Over all its a good game so far and tough even on easy. i just got done clearing a few areas 4 times only to die...damn me for not saving :( .....save early and save often. :D

The game studders so i would suggest to wait if your thinking about buying it until they have a patch that fixes it.

haha same to you and your gaming collection.

i just played some halo 3...wow controls feel soooo weird. but one good thing that comes from my xbox, FORZA MOTORSPORTS!!!! love that game. other than that, i love pc as my true gaming machine. ps3 is pretty neat tho, now i have a bluray player for my onkyo home theater set...and a web browser that load youtube videos!

dam...GTA4 looks stunning on your comp. i can't wait till i can build my own desktop, gonna get a nice nvidia fermi + i7. then ima sell this laptop and get a ultra-portable or better yet....*drools*....an alienware m11x!

also...is it me or does this picture look photorealistic? dam, that's true HD! superb lighting, shadows and water quality.

I have an xbox 360, but don't want to pay for the controller pack b/c I don't need a 3rd controller, but would love the dongle. Anyway, does the wireless dongle for it allow pairing of more than one controller or do I need two to pair up two 360 controllers? thanks.

One receiver pairs up to four different controllers (or one wheel and three controllers etc).

oh, is it like for games such as Street Fighter, that support local multiplayer?

cuz other than that, what's the point since most pc games don't offer offline splitscreen multiplayer.

This is my biggest damned problem with PC games these days. I buy a computer that's finally more powerful than an Xbox 360, but I can't play splitscreen!

So yes, although it's possible to connect multiple controllers, it's pointless.

Oh... :( You should have given it a chance, I recommend reversing the flight controls and it will be much more manageable. Is it the greatest graphics? No, is it an interesting story and a decent action game, and most of all is it fun? Yeah... XD

lol well, the thing about it that annoyed me was the continous straight flying when in that mode...btw i tried it on the failbox. i wouldn't want to imagine how to control a flying game with a mouse

the gfx were kinda disappointing and the shooting just didnt feel satisfying...but hey, that's only my opinion :p

Don't worry, I understand, that would ruin any game experience... lol ;)

I see, well I loaded up the PhysX patch this morning before work, and played it when I got home. Now I really love it. The PhysX effects are really amazing, including weapon effects, turbulence and smoke trails.

    Link to to the patch:

Went through the Water Hazard chapter of Half Life 2 using the FRAPS feature to take a screenshot every 5 seconds.

Using a mod called Half Life: Update that runs Half Life 2 in the orange box engine with updated graphics based on the xbox 360 orange box version, and a couple skin packs for weapons and soldiers. The mod also adds in steam achievements copied from the xbox 360 achievements.

Sorry the quality is kind of bad, would have taken up way too much hard drive space if I had it saving larger image files.

I'll always remember that barn at the start, on my first playthrough I was so disappointed that the rebels there had been killed.

:( Check out my sweet SMG though!

I admire the balls those metro cops have, standing directly in front of the path of a speeding vehicle trying to shoot at it with dinky pistols.

Speeding crowbars work pretty well on them too.

Here's a bit of a closer look at the altered metro cop outfit I'm using.

I like touching my shiny new magnum.

And another look at the SMG.

Their pitiful barricade of empty wooden boxes didn't even slow me down.

I almost feel sorry for this guy.

But not this one! (pity the mounted gun still looks like crap)

It's a little hard to see, but this metro cop has such gigantic testicles that he's decided to rappel down into my path instead of shooting me from the safety of that bridge. Surely he thought the sheer mass of his balls would be enough to overpower the momentum of my air boat.

My favorite achievement, you have to find all the little supply caches that are marked with lambda symbols, and you don't get any fancy radar to tell you where they are.

Hm, sometimes I think the reflections turn out better than the actual scenery.

I admire the rebels new urban camo while this nice vort preps my new gun.

And I get an achievement for it!

Haha, now I can fight back!

In between bursts of violent combat, I take a moment to appreciate the sun beginning to set.

Looks like the chopper didn't take the hint the last several times I shot his up.

    Oh shi-, he looks angry!

But I've got him on the run.

And down he goes! Netting me another new achievement as well.

And the sun finally sets on another day in the life of Gordon Freeman.

    nice photo-story! lol

btw, i also read about the physx release on OCN, i might try the demo on pc...tho im doubting it since this game got 6.5/10 on gamespot. i remember last year, on gamespot they had this "most anticipated 2010 games", and among all the exclusive ps3 games, dark void was listed

As per usual, generic Crysis or Crysis Warhead:

Running surprisingly well on an 8600 GTS (roughly same as 9600M GT in case you didn't know), with usually about 25FPS, drops to 22FPS in heavy action.

it's okay, but I usually don't use either once I get used to the gun. Besides a few classes I'd like to keep, I usually change a class or two during the intermission to see how I like something. I think that was the Fal, and since then I took off the Holo for the nade launcher(haven't used it yet, but try to because I want the shotgun attachment).

lol i hate the shotgun attachment, i put it on but i NEVER used it, just a clickspam and boom! dead at close range. deagle + M16 (w/ stopping power pro) FTW!

in regards with the nade launcher, i dont use it simply because of the way i played COD4. i played in a clan, named DbP...and the rules were no martyrdom/grenade launcher, so i grew up playing infinity ward's games w/o the launcher lol

Is it just me, or do the textures on that upper right wall look highly detailed?

Half Life 2 had a great texture artist/s.

These are from a mod called Synergy which you can download right on steam. The mod is basically a platform for playing online coop maps made by the mod team and the community (with coop versions of the HL2, EP1, and EP2 campaigns available).

These pics in particular are from a map called Desert Strikes. The gist of the map is that you have to bunker down in a fort lying in some random desert valley and defend it against various waves of attackers.

Sorry again about the quality, FRAPs just doesn't do well with jaggies when using auto-mode and they don't get any better when I have to convert and upload them.

Here's a nice little pic to get a picture of the main part of the fort and some attacking antlions.

Observant viewers will have noticed the dune buggy in the last pic, well this one's a two seater. My blue friend is a damn good driver.

A little secondary base at another part of the map.

There is also a van, as this poor antlion has discovered.

It has 4 seats in the back, and 2 in front. I'll get to the panic room thing later.

Here's a shot from the back seats.

There's a truck too, but I don't think it likes me (those are my limbs on the floor).

There are mounted guns in the towers (not the same as the kind in HL2).

And also this crazy contraption that shoots rockets, but you have to go out and find special rockets to load into it and load them manually.

Here's what it looks like when you're driving the dune buggy and have a passenger.

Eventually striders join the fight, but there are a couple magnussen device spawners to help out.

    Hunters too! Ramming speed!

I stop for a moment to admire the road paved with my enemies corpses. Too bad the antlion corpses faded by then.

A few times, the enemy will attack with some kind of biological warfare bomb or whatever and you gotta hightail it to a shelter called the panic room. This is on the wall of the fort, and the panic room is all the way on the other end of the map!

    Oh shi-

Whew, made it. They really ought to put a light in here.

And for the grand finale, I finish off a gunship (final wave) with an SMG grenade.
