Yes the Source engine is getting a little dated, but it still looks good! l4d2 looks bloody great, such a shame that our draconian censorship laws will mean the game is crap.

love the new interface! graphics look much better as well.

one minor complaint, i dont like how the damage meter is, like how that blood effect looks like, i'd rather have the gears of war, rainbow six vegas or COD4 effect rather than that fake looking obstructing blood on the screen.

 

hehe I don't really care about the blood effects all that much.
Been playing more multiplayer (Domination & TDM) in the last few hours (Australia here ) and having loads of fun with my MP5K, no lag as well. The new maps are pretty cool too, definitely better than the old CoD4 maps.

Are you playing the PC version maksin01? Even though the game comes out on the 10th, I hear Steam will not activate the game until the 12th and that is the only way to play the game, by Steam, even if you buy a retail copy.

 

Yup it's the retail PC version. I bought it at eb games today here in Australia (got them to price-match a cheaper price for $79AUS instead of the regular $98AUS ) and Steam activates it right away, no problem at all. There are already tons of people playing online just like me.

 

I think I will make today screenshot day when I get off work and get some game time.

Dragon Age Origins and Torchlight, I just installed Win 7 so lost all my old game isntalls and thats all I really have installed now except Borderlands.

I have L4D2 preloaded but dont want to d/l the demo.

Got mine at 00:24, picked the most remote location I could find, turned out to be an isolated Walmart Superstore. There were maybe 50 people in line. Every EBGames, Future Shop or Best Buy I passed the lines where around the building. XD Anyway great game, love it, and no I don't care about multiplayer. I buy dedicated multiplayer games for that.



When I first started it up it asked if I would like to skip the more disturbing missions. :/ Anyway I played it, and it is very disturbing. I couldn't fire at civilians even in a game... I didn't post any pics of it either. Anyway if you haven't picked this up get it. XD

 

So many complaints for CoD:MW2 and now everybody is hunting to find copies of it? lol?

If you wanted it why not pre-order it and get the $20 coupon.

Thats what I would have done, but I decided for right now I do not want that game, but will get it at a later date when its cheap.

 

same here, will pick it up for a cheaper price later, 60$ is hard to swallow for a single player shooter.

quick question, how well does COD6 run compared to COD4? i run COD4 maxed @ 1080p with everything high, 4xAA etc. it gets around 40-100fps. what do u expect 1080p will be with COD6 on my laptop?

 

You shouldn't have a problem...I run it at 1280x800 textures all high and 2x AA w/o sync every frame. BTW BEAUTIFUL game and multiplayer is fun, just not as much as COD4

OK.... As for the image i didnt even notice until someone pointed it out. But I agree with SACH7002 in that more clicking = bad .

mmm just finished modern warfare 2 campaign, bloody epic although there were a lot of question i had after i finished, which wikipedia solved

anyways here are some maxed 1080p shots of the game...mostly the last 1/2 of it, cant wait till MW3 comes out!





ps. wow that was lame copying every thumbnail link...srsly y cant we just put our hi-res pics in it? it says 56K warning...meaning large files are present in this thread. you can zoom out using CTRL+"-" to make the pics viewable. its much easier...

 

It'd be a nice addition if you guys also didn't post your thumbnails in a long line. They're just as inconvenient.

 

what wrong with a line? saves space downwards...

 

It also makes paragraph responses as long as the line and requires sideways scrolling...

I was surprised Dragon Age runs so smoothly on my system. It's on High Detail, High Textures, 2x AA.

 

lol i bet it runs better than the 360/ps3 version as well. 720p (slightly above for ur resolution and high with 2AA vs xbox/ps3 1280x720 with NO AA and most likely medium everything, for xbox probably LOW textures haha).

 

Is that with the system in your signature?
If it is, with 2x AA that's amazing!

The SPAS 12 shotgun is great.

 

Actually, the only differences between the Xbox 360 version and the PC version that I've noticed are the draw distance and the resolution. The shadows are lower-res too. But the Xbox 360 version looks surprisingly good for hardware from 2005...

Also, on my computer, I run it at 1680x1050, 4xAA, max. settings.

Have you even played the Xbox 360 version? Or the PC version for that matter? Or are you just assuming it looks terrible?

 

Yep, same system as my sig. I was thinking I'd have to run it on medium with no AA, it runs a lot better than I expected.

lol im just going by the review and the fact that it is a xbox. i love my 360, console gaming is where it all started but ive noticed how bad the gfx are compared to pc. GTA:episodes from liberty, while a really really fun game, just doenst satisfy my graphical needs. i saw some screenshots of the 360 DA:O and it looked REALLY BAD. im not a "dragons and dungeons" kinda guy, more shooters/racers/action-adventure games.

Half Life 2 : Lost Coast!!! And my price is...

 

Playing a lot of Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, love it, play it at 1920 X 1080 never drops below 30 FPS... Never goes above it either though. lol On my third play through now, the PhysX is truly amazing, and the Euphoria engine is as well. Love how the characters react, trying to grab ledges or each other when you force grab them... Can't get enough of it. XD

Wow, that's a lot of screenshots! The Force Unleashed looks like a fun game, although it didn't get great reviews. I always keep toying with whether or not to pick it up for the PC because I love Star Wars games, but I don't want to be disappointed by a mediocre game.

 

it's a bad port. the only graphics setting available is resolution. i'm serious.

I just finished it for the third time last night, tried the good side ending this time. It really has a great story and I love the game play. It does need some work especially for play on low to mid range systems. It is being patched though, there is already one out, but I have not applied it yet. Anyway great game and I highly recommend it.

As a side not I have discovered why my thumbnails and pics will not show up... The forums language filter. lol The album has "S", "W", "T", "F", "U" in the title and the language filter takes out all but the "S" and "U".
