The more I read about this game and the more of these videos I watch, the more excited I get. Everything just seems SO fleshed out. I have massive hopes for it and I really hope it lives up to my expectations.

Haha yes, I knew it was something from the 80s, couldn't figure out which song and it was driving me nuts.
That beach scene was amazing. Was expecting more corridors and cutscenes, I had no idea the game had this level of open sandbox gameplay systems. It seems that Elizabeth was interacting with the environment in a way we haven't seen before with NPCs in this type of game. Hopefully it will enhance the replay value. -
Wow, if it comes with XCOM I'll pre-order.
-
This made me very happy

Does anyone know of ANYWHERE that has decent preorder bonuses that are not XCOM or Bioshock 1/2? Cause I already have all of those.
Edit: I have this irritating fear of this game not being good. It's entirely irrational (no pun intended) but there has been so much triple-A shovelware over the past year or so that I'm afraid. My little remaining faith in the gaming industry will be deeply shaken if this game doesn't live up to the hype. Every fiber of my being tells me it will be, but I will be really sad if we end up with another Aliens: Colonial Marines (not that I think Irrational would do that). -
check Gamer's Gate and Green Man Gaming, they offer your choice of Bioshock 2/Darkness 2/spec ops the line/civ 5 and one more i cant remember.
-
^ he beat me to it. I got mine from GMG for just £22.50, which in American money terms is equivalent to $34! Almost half what a standard game costs at launch. Woohoo!
-
My only choices for GMG bonuses are Darkness 2 and Mafia 2, since I have all the others. I guess that's the way to go, though.

i pre-ordered my copy and have a quiet sense of calm, regarding the game, i felt done with rapture and look forward to seeing what can be delivered in this new world high up in the sky, until then tomb raider beckons.
-
Today I was like on Jeremy Kyle show when I saw X-com unlocked.

One week people, one week!

I started playing Bioshock 2 last night, I bought it in the Amazon summer sale last year but never played it. The difficulty level is way higher than I expected. Not a huge fan of playing as a Big Daddy. It's good, but I don't think it's as good as the original. I'm pumped to see how Irrational is going to top the first one.
-
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
Maybe I played on a lower difficulty level - I don't recall - but it didn't really seem like all that much of a challenge to me. The little sister escort and protection missions were a bit of a pain sometimes, but rarely required more than one or two quickloads. I also wasn't so into playing as a Big Daddy. For one, it entailed more protection and escort than I would have liked, and for two, I'm not a fan of being the slow-but-powerful guy in games - I get enough of that in real life - so I like to be spry and agile in my escapism.
The biggest issue with Bioshock 2 for me was that it felt more cartoony and arcadey than the first game. I've talked about how I feel disconnected with the action on-screen in Crysis and Far Cry, and I used "flat" as a descriptor for the feeling I get from the games. Bioshock 2, on the other hand, feels too "round" - it's preferable to being too flat, but it overshoots what I would consider a balanced feel. -
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
As I'm sure many of you are already aware the game has been leaked early. Internet tolls are now littering forums and other sites with major spoilers. Be really careful as to which forums you use from now onwards. Oh, and I have heard that the various Wiki's have had spoilers planted inside, so avoid them too.
Gotta hate these trolls who want to ruin it for everyone
-
Thanks for the warning. I really don't want this story spoiled for me.
-
What, its been leaked? Jesus, the nerve of some shop workers. Thanks for the heads up. Did you read the spoilers yourself or did someone warn you too?
EDIT: I see its only the PS3 version thats been leaked. -

Interesting interview with Ken Levine, it seems previously he was trying to add multiplayer and then they weren't able to make it work, so they canceled it.

Just look at this. Absolutely beautiful. The vivid colours really pop and the lighting is so bright and natural. It looks amazing.

Well, broke down and Pre-ordered, looking forward to this one, and with the deals out there seemed like the time. Went with Amazon because I have all of the games from GMG's offer and don't have any interest in TF2 hats. $30 2K credit and XCOM put me over the edge. Excited! Looking like a preload either tomorrow or this weekend it appears?
-
Just bought from GMG. It's a bit misleading. The advertising says: "Get 3 Free Games*" and *= get them instantly
That's a lie because my email said XCOM key won't be provided until March 26. I was hoping to play some this weekend.
edit: I see in very fine print at the bottom of the page:
* Regional restrictions apply. Also when you pre-purchase from GMG you get the Industrial Revolution bonus - this key is sent immediately after purchase. Keys for Bioshock Infinite will be distributed in time for the release date. XCOM: Enemy Unknown keys will be distributed before the 26th March.
They had one * at top why would they have two? They should have a ** or # or something to signify a second restriction. -
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
How does that work? You can use the $30 in the future to buy 2k games from Amazon? -
I did too. I got the Green man gaming with $15 credit because I don't know of any other 2K games I'd buy or any they have that I don't already own that I'd want to play.
But more or less $45 for Bioshock Infinite plus XCOM isn't a horrible deal. -
Yep, $30 credit towards any 2k game purchases from Amazon, good through March 2014. Figure the next good sale I'll pick up a copy of Borderlands 2 or something, but its good for all of their games. Gmg was a good deal too but I had all the games except XCOM.
-
I just checked amazon, and that deal appears to be gone.
-
??? Nope, it's still there.
-
Hmm, just checked:

I'm on my phone, so I might have missed it. I would love a deal where I got the first 2 to go with it, but that $30 gets me close.
I've had my np9170 for a couple weeks now, and could never play these games with acceptable detail til now. My m11x r1 was nice, but pretty limited.

That's right, almost forgot the release date is Tuesday! Have to decide between Steam or Amazon.
Just to make sure, if I buy it on Amazon, I get a Steam key, correct? -
My confirmation email says I can download it tomorrow.
-
Yep, they'll send you a Steam key for Infinite and XCOM. The credit will be added to your account. They are advertising preload starting at 1:00 pst today.

also check out Kotaku's review of the IGN review =) .
-
I just preordered it on Steam last night. Steam gives you the extra games instantly. I already own XCOM though so I suppose someone will end up with it as a birthday gift or something.
-
Yeah, well GMG was offering XCOM, 2 games (which I got both Bioshock 1 and 2 that I'm giving away here at NBR) and $14 cash back or $15 GMG credit.
-
bummer. I received my steam key code from Amazon today, and thought that maybe I would be able to download it now. DENIED!
I guess I'll have to wait. -
Hmm, you should be able to enter your key in Steam and preload, that is how amazon is advertising it... I received all my keys yesterday but have been away from laptop to try it. Also, XCOM is playable now.
-
It's a preload.
-
what graphics engine the game use?graphics are amazing!!
-
Unreal Engine 3.
-
ok rly?and looks so good?very nice!does the game support dx11?
-
Soon, soon... muahahahaha
Anyone else notice how the game releases on 25th at 23:30 GMT? Seems Steam are jumping the gun a little bit
-
well technically its 12:00am EST march 26th so no not really.
-
Well in UK it is the 25th! I suspect they're doing regional releases. Tomb Raider also launched half hour before the official release day, at 11:30pm on the 4th March here in UK. Good to see we don't have to wait for American time-zones to catch up, instead it's near-midnight releases wherever you live! I love Steam

Do you know what time the Steam pre-load will unlock? -
Isn't that usually how it is?
-
I pre-loaded the game yesterday. I feel like it's right there on my external hard drive, taunting me.
-
Kinda like Pr0n.
