lol,My friend is having the same problem and he is going bloody crazy!
-
I'm not crashing, except client error every time I attack a boss.
-
I used to get the "Client Error" once everytime I logged in, but the new patch fixed that, but now my game will lock up at random times, forcing a cold shut down.
-
Just loaded it up, played for about 30 minutes, with a great framerate and lock-ups! Hopefully it's worked itself out!
-
Im on a few other forums and they are going absolutley crazy!
Some people are calling FunCom and asking whats happening and they said they dont know, they said they released a new patch and cant figure out whats wrong with it!
Man I hope they fix this fast, this is really starting to pee people off.I hope this doesnt happen often,im getting the game in a month. But Ive been told it will take a while to get AoC running good.I personally think the game was rushed and unprepared! -
It wasn't rushed, you just have to remember they can't test everything. All they can do is work out all of the problems they know of, and then address the others as they arise. WoW was shoddy the whole first year I played it. MMO's don't just pop-up perfect.
Here's a couple of screenie's. Not as cool as Snow's, but I dig 'em. Don't know why they're at 640x400, Imageshack resized them I guess...
-
It's actually pretty hard. You have to look through the code and find the error. I haven't had any major problems yet. I just don't know what people were expecting...
-
so the game is still freezing peoples computers requiring a forced shutdown??( game freezes on screen and character wont move with sound looping in background)?
-
Looks like it's fixed for me. Logged in twice, with no problems...
-
so this was after todays patches right kgann?
-
Nope, no patching today. Well, not that I saw at least. Have you removed AoC from your computer Halo? If not, you may want to give it a shot. The few people in my Guild who were having the same problems, complained of none today.
-
I still have it on my hard drive, will give it a shot later, i just dont understand how it was fixed unless they did some background fixes that didnt require the servers to go down
-
Well, logged on again, and it locked up this time. It's so random, I can't figure out what's causing all of this...
-
Happened once but it got back after 5 seconds
-
yea if your freezing comes back to normal then you dont have the issue, most of us have it where the actual computer freezes, not just the game temporarily
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I just got an out of memory error. The game's still crashing. Funcom couldn't have fixed anything today without a patch. Maybe Wednesday's (the new patch day) patch will fix these crashes.
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
As great as Age of Conan is, I'm getting pissed off that none of the patches are fixing any of the crashes, some of them have made the crashes worse. I can't get through a session without the servers crashing (yeah, they're crashing now, too) or an out of memory error. I'll stay a bit longer and see what Funcom does...
-
Well, my problems went away today. May be the new system, but played 3 times for 30+ minutes with no problems what-so-ever. (Knock on wood)
Plus, I love playing this game maxed out... it just makes it so much more fun... -
yea im still getting freezing in AoC and every other game also....but mostly in AoC
-
This is still your desktop, right Halo? Have you tried your laptop?
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
What virus programs do you guys have running? I just realized that if I disable Trend Micro Internet Security that the game and the updater launch instantly, instead of taking 40 seconds each. I wonder if some weird compatibility bug between AoC and Trend Micro PC is causing some/all of my crashes? Trend Micro doesn't cause that problem for any other games.
-
I'm using Kaspersky. Zero problems and it's rock-solid.
-
on my laptop it works fine, my desktop it doesnt. I dont run any antivirus or anything while gaming. Both pc's use vista 64bit, i wanna burn my desktop everytime i see it because of the never ending issues, i think im going bald from the stress i have dealt with lol, literally, no joke. The desktop plays gears of war for hours perfectly..and GRID and Crysis very well also, but not AoC
-
I haven't got any lag spikes or client error tonight!
-
Same here! It's looking good...
-
Avira antivir will stop my game with its updater and ad, it killed my character one time while fighting a real pain.
-
Yeah, when my game used to freeze, I would log back in, and be dead. Every time. Seems the game didn't recognize I shut down the computer...
-
Getting more latency spikes then ever before.
-
ok gonna give it a shot now..btw for sli settings in the nvidia control panel, do you guys use "nvidia reccommended(sli)", or alternate frame rendering 1 or 2?
-
I don't have an SLi setup, so I am of now help.
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I've had three lag spikes and one out of memory crash so far tonight... -
ok tried the game again and my computer freezes from it with 2-5 minutes, again no other problems with any other games
-
I think Funcom is about to start shelling out some Free Months, or refunds...
-
idk if its the game or not, my desktop has been acting up lately...alot of my games crash and display a message saying the game stopped working also, im very close to just selling this thing and getting on with life...im not ripping on pc gaming its just i game maybe 8% of the time the pc is on because nothing ever works right....all my friends who are console fanboys just point and laugh every freeze and bsod i get..maybe 15 times a day...anyways i cancelled by account through funcom and will be finished playing for a long while
-
Haha, I think you could get enough money to buy a PSP from it... or 6.
-
yea i know its vista and nvidia chipset drivers..ever since the move to 64bit and evga getting rid of the 9.46 drivers for 64bit ive been stuck with new drivers that crash, then again i was asking for trouble going with a quad and sli...that plus vista times nvidia chipset drivers = crash

HaloGod, maybe it'll work fine if you set all your clock speeds back to their factory settings? Those are some pretty rough overclocks. I had one out of memory crash tonight, a few interface bugs that made me restart, and at the end of the night I had all kinds of problems like the grey map and a few wierd bugs that probably meant I would've crashed if I stayed on. Age of Conan is a great game, and it looks amazing at high (I saw it on low and medium tonight and high looks a lot different and better), I just hope that Funcom fixes these problems soon. BTW, I got one of my in-game friends to sign up here so I can help him install Geforce drivers on his Quadro card.
-
I am now using Vista x64, but haven't had any problems whatsoever.
Sorry to hear that, Halo, but at least you still got your laptop!
*EDIT* I agree with you Michael, the game looks brilliant on high. I was running it on high with my 8400GT, but with sacrifices. (Low draw distance, no grass, shadows on just characters, water reflect off, etc.) Now, I max it out, it looks beautiful. (Framerate anywhere from 30-65) Once I throw a better CPU in this thing, it will be insane.
Quick question- VSync? The game doesn't offer it. Should I just enable it through the Nvidia Control panel, or deal with the tearing? -
i tried stock clocks and still had issues, its not the overclock..its nvidia's stupid new 15.17 chipset drivers.
EDIT: wow i checked the nvidia site for 780i chipset drivers and they took down the 15.17 drivers and reverted back to 9.64 because of the huge problem it caused...hahah i knew is was the problem...im downloading these now -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I enabled it through the NVIDIA control panel. It was tearing like crazy before, but now it's working fine and I don't see noticeable performance decrease. BTW, in case anyone's wondering I'm running the game at 1680x1050 with 4xAA 16xAF at high settings with a maxed out draw distance and the amount of the environment in high quality is set to 100%. I thought bloom took away from the game's look, so I keep that off. I'm getting 25-40fps in cities, and 30-50fps everywhere else, with 60fps in instances (it won't go higher because of VSync). -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Are you sure there's a lot of problems with the 15.17 drivers? I'm pretty sure that I installed those on my nForce board a week or two ago. I haven't noticed any problems with them that I wasn't already having. -
I will try that out, cause the tearing is insane.
Running at native 144x900, all maxed, no AA, AFx16, no bloom (looked strange), 30-70FPS. I really need VSync turned out, though. Is there anyway just to enable VSync for this game only? (Through an AoC profile or something?) -
google issues with that driver and you will see. I dont know whats going on but the 780/790i have major issues with drivers, and freezing issues
-
Hopefully this fixes it for you! I'm just happy my temps went down! I ran it today for 20 minutes the first time jumped up to 85C!! Then, I realized my "cooling solution" was actually covering the vents! Put 2 DVD cases under the battery, and viola, max temp of 63C after an hour of playing!
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Yeah, go to the NVIDIA control panel. Then click "manage 3D settings". Choose the tab "program settings" and change VSync to on for all of the Age of Conan clients. BTW, I'm running with 16xAF, too. -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Did you guys ever try this to help stop the crashes? A Funcom developer recommends us to try this we're getting out of memory crashes until they have a real fix.
http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=5551
I'll see if it helps when I'm playing tomorrow, but it'll be annoying restarting whenever I want to play and when I want to quit to get Windows running normally again. -
well guys have been playing AoC for about an hour and a half on my friends account and no more crashes after i got rid of the 15.17 drivers and reverted back to 174.74 beta display drivers, i knew it was a driver issue for me...newer drivers must not like my hardware config, but atleast its back to normal now, AoC runs with no errors at all, now i gotta re-activate my account, hopefully i dont have to pay double
-
WOW,This thread was doing so well a while ago,now everyone has just left, well if I have to talk to myself then I will lol,not really.
-
I am playing it, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. Even questioning if I should re-new my subscription...
-
Really??
I have a had a feeling lurking in the back of my mind that AoC would be a fail.I refuse to beleive it because it looks so fun,but Ive been told by many people it came out too early and doesnt have enough content.
Im a massive MMORPG fan and I dont see any good one's out there if this goes,no im not playing wow btw.
