its playable, I have it running, just curious to see what others are gettin FPS wise
-
I can try to lift a building with a piece of rope and then complain that the rope is useless. If you lower your settings (especially shadows) and your resolution down the game is playable on an 8600. -
ok installing the game now, im still unsure on what server i should join, also im picking demonologist, i wonder what the best race is for this class
-
Gateway P-6860 FX runs Conan flawless 45-90FPS constant currently for me no processor upgrade yet. When I upgrade the processor its going to be sickening.
Conan is awesome. -
wow, playing now, this game is amazing..someone friend me on death whisper, name is Elirius
-
Ok guys, I'm a former WoW addict that has played off and on since Day 1 of Release way back when.
A couple of months ago, I quit and haven't played since just because it got so monotonous. It lacked flavor and life.
From what you have seen, would you recommend this game to a former WoW addict? -
for sure, it kills wow, just have some decent hardware
-
ehh I imagine after I go pick this up, I'll be dropping some cash on the upgrade to the SLI 8800 for my XPS 1730.
The wife will not be happy. -
what the wife dont know, dont hurt her...hahah just kiddin..if you have 1 8800m gtx, i dont think u need to upgrade, but it help the game look alot better if you do...this game on max kills my desktop in my sig
im confused a little, do u get spells thru leveling or buying them? And i hear at lvl 19 you leave the newbie area...and when can you join a guild?? -

MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I don't think you need a Gametime card to activate your account, you'll need to add one after the included month to keep playing, though.
-
Okay thanks, yeah. I'll try to check on the back of the box tomorrow.
-
remember, if your framerate is bad, turn off shadows...
if your framrate starts sputtering around water, turn off reflections.
both of those are nice, but not necessary to enjoy the game and having the framerate is better than that particular eyecandy in almost every case.
If you have the hardware, go for it, but use your head if you don't and get rid of the fluff. -
Has any received their collector's edition or in Australia Limited Edition ? Any feed back on it ? like was it worth it etc? Any info would be great
-
Does the release client run better than OB for you guys?
-
HaloGod2007
How does it run on you ASUS M50SA? -
The client runs a lot better than OB for me. It still does not support SLI though. I got the collector's edition as well.

This game is running terribly for me, all low no shadows at 1440x900 and I still haven't broken 30fps yet and sometimes it dips down to 12
I just updated my driver and I'm gonna try it again....I made a toon on Deathwhisper "Bruciand" but still in tortage cuz its running so bad.
-
I have a Clevo D900T
3.6ghz P4
7800 GTX
2Gb Ram
Everything at min and getting 4 - 30 FPS.
Drops to 4 or 5 fps when fighting or with high population... I am thinking I may be CPU limited... considering an ASUS M50SA or M50SV to play this game. But want to make sure I will be able to consistantly get 20fps on low, -
The game has a lot of hype, i think itll catch on amongst normal PC gamers and MMO players in general. But yeah its casual (not even mainstream) scope is going to be limited considering the incredibly steep requirements
-
Will AoC run on my laptop? (DX-10 off & lowest settings of course)
C2D 2.4 GHZ-3MB cache
2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeFORCE 8400M GS (256MB)
Vista 32-bit OS -
-
yes the game runs on my laptop at 1024x768 at medium settings and no shadows or aa/af nicely...my desktop maxes the game at 1920x1200 fine also
edit: im very shocked, i upped the res and settings and its very playable on this laptop, wow, i underestimated my laptops gpu -
-
im telling you on a 8400m gs it wont be fun....ull have to play at 1024 on low, or 800x600 on low with some medium...some advice for helping the fremaes...turn off shadows and bring the particle rendering distance slider all the way down to like 5 or 6, this wil boost you like 10-15 frames
-
HaloGod2007
If you could post what FPS your getting on you notebook at native res on low setting that would really help me a lot.
Thanks -
-
Not too far into it yet and all I can say is I am very impressed. Story line immediately makes more sense than some of the other MMOs beginnings that I've played.
Graphics even on a 8700M GT are very very nice. If you are curious about this game, have the comp and the cash, just go get it! -
What is your average FPS on a 8700m GT and what are your settings at? Computer Specs?
-
2.5 DC CPU
4GIG RAM DDR2
8700M GT
1400.900 almost all low with viewing distance bumped up
FPS consistently around 22-34. Honestly, I wasn't really paying attention for a while and have to say that it was acting just fine to me.
Even on low settings and 1400.900, everything is still beautiful. You really feel like you are there instead of a cartoon! -
Southpaw,
What brand notebook is that? -
does anyone know when this game will support Sli? i have a second GTx going to waste and could use the extra frames
-
Just to clarify, that's just one 8700M GT, not SLI 8700M GT. -
I was wondering what race and class everyone picked and why.
-
Oh... great game... Well , I haven't really tested it because I sold my beta account months ago for $350 (helped me pay my M1530
)
I only tried it for 2 hours.
Anyway, how is it now? Do you recommend it? I am not really a MMORPG person, do you think I should give it a try? -
Conan IMHO is by far the best PvE and PvP experience in an MMORPG period in the early levels. (1-20ish)
I do not have any mid-game or endgame experience yet.
this game is definitely not for everyone, however...
Its atmosphere and story-heavy... it is brutal and bloody and dirty...
If you want pretty, neat, and every number listed for your crunching... the game is not for you.
If you want a game which helps you take out your fantasies of what you'd like to do to your boss sometimes... then this game is theraputic...
one fatality... one head crushed off the body with blood splattering all over and you will be hooked... i actually caught myself breathing differently after one battle... the game just feels so right...
this is the first MMORPG that actually made me feel like part of a living breathing world... -
I just started playing last night, but if you've played Oblivion you should be able to jump in like a duck to water, fighting is different but the structure is similar.
-
Let me put it this way. I'm about to cancel my subscription to WoW.
I don't think WoW is awful or anything but I only have a very very limited amount of time to play and that time will go to AoC! It's awesome. I posted this elsewhere so I'll put it here too.
-
So... I have seen a few people talk about playing with a 8700 GT or 8600, but as anyone tried playing this game with 2 7950 GTX's in SLI? What would I be able to run the game at? I got 2 gigs of ram, running on windows xp and a 2.16 C2D Processor. If only one 8700 GT can run the game on low then what can a 7950 GTX or 2 of them run the game at on a resolution of 1440x900?
-
I use 7950s. The game runs on medium settings at 1680x1050 with an average fps of 25. SLI does not work though atleast for me. So 25 FPS at 1680x1050 with one 7950 isn't that bad, but I am angry I paid extra money for this card to specifically play AoC and its not getting used.
-
Hmm, your CPU might bottleneck you there. I was paying attention to my 1730 little gaming window that shows my CPU and RAM usage and it looks like a CPU intensive game.
However, I bet you could run 1400x900 on med-high settings or 1600x1050 on low settings, easily. Don't worry about that though because even on low, it's still very very nice.
These graphics are going to satisfy for YEARS, not days or months.
EDIT: KockM answered it for me. -
The current client is DX9, so a single 7950GTX should perform similarly to the 8700 at 1440x900.
I get 40ish FPS avg (27minimum)at 1440x900 on medium with shadows and reflections off on the starter island... with the setup below.. and thats no overclocking yet.
odds are you are fine with a 7950GTX at 1440x900 on medium... (turn off shadows at least)
With two you should be even better, but my friend keeps telling me that SLI support is not very good yet.
more RAM would likely help both you and I...
get the 175.16 drivers... they almost doubled my frame rate from 174.74. -
the game works very bad with Sli, so wait untill its patched or fully supported.
-
I'm picking up my collector's edition today or tomorrow. What server types are available? I'm interested in preferrably RP/PVE or RP/PVP.
I played on one of the betas and am looking forward to what hopefully is a somewhat polished game. -
What do you need to spend $ wise on graphic cards to get this game at high settings 60FPS
-
As of right now $300+
-
Gonna be honest, I dont think there is one right now that will run it 60+fps with shadows on that isn't an SLI setup.
Even desktop god boxes are turning down or off shadows. -
yea my desktop struggle badly on max settings at 1920 res in this game, its worse than crysis on max in cities and big areas
-
You guys are really making impatient to get this game. I saw it at ebay today and damn, the CE box is so big! lol
EB is only giving me $12 for Growlanser: Generations and 10 for Luminous Arc. I'll try to special order at my local import shop where I should get 15 for LA and 25 for GL
