Man, I still don't get how to install mods. Always end up getting same error:

What methods I've tried: Witcher Script Merger, a couple of things from here, nothing seems to work.

Mods I'm trying to make work:

I also have no intro/storybook loading mod installed.

Hmm. I don't know - I only use 1 of the mods you're using but if I was guessing, the issue may be the block when you want mod. Try Verify/Repair the game or try removing it and see what happens

That would mean uninstalling and reinstalling (I have ordinary non-Galaxy installation) the whole thing... I think I can survive without a few mods.
A few of them do work (no intro, HD textures and Gwent merchant, HQ faces "works" too), but when I add others, it all goes to crap.
I thought it could be outdated mod, but, for example, block and dodge mod supports 1,11 (version which I have), and everyone says it works tip-top, but when I try to install it (even when there are no other mods installed), it gives me that script error... Same with Gwent Deluxe and meditation mods.

I think it's because you don't have the best mod ever aka Photo mode mod.

anyway, Gwent Deluxe works fine for me (v1.11 on S). Don't have block and dodge and meditation but the one time I get the script compilation error was when my mod was outdated. However, the error message was much longer (not sure if relevant). Also, sometimes scriptmerger can't merge and it has some warning or something so make sure don't overlook that.

if all else fails, just accept it as a life mystery.

So apparently by deleting those two files from error report, everything started to work.
Better lock up your children and wives, someone's gonna mod the crap out of TW3 tomorrow...

ive tried to get a couple of mods working but i think ive screwed it up, namely trying to get the The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project hd texture mod working, ive installed as suggested but tbh don't notice any difference.

Spent about three to four hours (and about twenty crashes and Nvidia TDRs) finding all the XXXX School diagrams, crafted the Viper school and Mastercrafted Lupine School Gear, got all the Superior bomb and potion diagrams, did some alchemy, all to get ready for New Game +. Then the first fight with the ghouls, and Geralt gets hit 3x by ghouls (wiith red skull icon, no less): Geralt is rekt. I'm getting a feeling level 39 isn't enough for NG+.

    Damn.

Edit: after further research on the Internet, I found that my particular NG+ save game was bugged. Re-started another NG+ save and killed the ghouls, easily (on Death March, no less).

make sure your mod folder (in the mods folder) is modHDReworkedProject folder. It won't work if you chose extract to "name" option because that would create another "layer" of folder. I'd installed a few mods before but I made this mistake with the HD Project. Also the easiest way to check is to look at the rocks. Much more detail. For example, the one in front of Kaer Trolde

i think i have done it right, in the C:>GOG games>The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt folder i made a folder called "mod" and in that mod folder i pasted the extracted modHDReworkProject folder.
i suck at this type of thing, but i think that's correct, maybe there is a difference and i just haven't been paying attention.

    You did everything right.

Myself, I tried a few mods, some I liked, others not. Ended up installing 15 or so of them. To what purpose I wonder. I don't play TW3 for now and by the time B&W comes out I'll probably have to reinstall them all again :D.

yes, it breaks some mods but I don't know which one exactly. This is my list:

    All NPC Scabbards
    Better Combat Evolved 2
    Custom Localization Fix
    Gwent Deluxe
    HD Reworked Project
    Infinite Carry
    No Dirty Lens Effect
    No Level Requirement
    Photo mode

so if you've all these mods, don't install patch 1.12 (not sure how helpful my information can be). Well, it could be the Better Combat Evolved since I see its name in the error message. But I won't bother fixing it until Blood and Wine releases. Actually having my fun in Skyrim role-playing as a beautiful (succubus) girl so (not that I'm into cross-dressing).

I just uninstalled my mods and reinstalled them again and game seems to work just fine.
I only have 3 mods though.
    Carry mod
    Travel from anywhere
    HD reworked mod

After the update it did break the mods and game wouldn't start until I uninstall them.
    Reinstalled and no problems.

I have a fifty-fifty situation with mods and 1,12. Some work, others don't. Need to wait a bit before they are updated too.

how long is your TW3 loading time? I installed mine on SSD (copied from HDD actually) but I feel like loading time is still the same. For example, it takes longer than Dandelion's narration so the loading screen (the bar running and a ring like when you fast travel in from point to point in the same map) will show up.

Will try that when I've time but I just don't know if it's because of his narration that makes my game take longer to load.

if it was because of Dandelion's narration then my game should be done loading after his narration but no, another loading screen would show up for 10~20 sec.

    I actually enjoy Dandelion's narration :p

Isn't it Papa Vesemir who does the narration? At least judging by the voice.
They were fine at first, but after a while they became tiresome, at least for me. Listening to the same ol' stuff being repeated over and over again...
Loading did improve with the first mod, but nothing too drastic. Expect only minor loading time improvement.
Obviously the best part is that I don't have to keep pressing spacebar to skip the cutscenes.

it's an old Dandelion. His voice does indeed sound like Vesemir's but the "I" should be Dandelion. Plus,

Interesting. I haven't played NG+ yet, but in ordinary game Eredin was rather easy (on DM). Found him to be the easiest of the Wild Hunt bunch (Imlerith being the hardest for me). Took him down on my first try.
Maybe they buffed him for NG+.

I have played two Wicther games and the only boss that i had problems defeating (at on-par level) was the operator in witcher 2, it was one of the hardest boss I had ever faced. Remembering it still sends down a chill in my spine.

I don't remember him much from the ordinary game since he's rather underwhelming. But in NG+, he's very tanky and my quen doesn't fully block his attack, cost me 1/4 HP bar with quen. His attacks and spells are very fast too.

I probably played Blood and Broken bones on my first playthrough and without this combat mod which nerfs Quen.

forgot. The ending alone is worth a second playthrough.

60 hours probably if you do every single quest. I finish TW 1 with 30 hours and TW 2 with 45 hours. I didn't do every quest in TW 1, only the main quests and a few side quests. For TW 2, I did 2 playthroughs since it has two different paths (the second playthrough I started from where you make the decision).

also, prepare not to get frustrated by TW 1 combat :D and don't go full sword tree in TW 2 early. There is mod which gives you more skill points in TW 2 if you want.

Oh okay, you also use a mod.

Yes. At least TW2, because some might find TW1 combat a bit weird. But story wise they are both worth it.
You should fit within 120h mark to finish both games. Don't remember complete time, but it took me longer to complete TW1 than TW2.

I really cant wait for this expansion. Witcher 3 really surprised me. It was my first witcher game and now one of my all time favorite games. it was emotional, intense, incredible and engaging.

After finishing this expansion I am certainly going to do another full playtrough.
