Reads to me as: we still want people to buy our game... So we have to take down this video that shows how much we downgraded the game Watch Dogs style.
-
Still here:
The original PC vs. PS4 video was taken down yesterday but ppl were quick to reupload it.
Anyone can see this is a ticking time bomb, t-minus 48h. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, and CDPR has certainly gotten big-headed in recent years. -

I have never seen so much deleting in my life even before the game has been released.
Strange how the tide turns. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
I think you can download it a la Steam through their Galaxy launcher, no?
#JustPCMasterRaceThings
Exactly! Graphics are fine, and man, did CDPR crap out on PC graphics, but as long as it has a good story and good gameplay, it will be fine. The thing that got me hooked on TW is story.
It means that English tough in school was no good.
So much for an honest and caring about the community developer... -
That is bad. And yes they should really clarify it, if they state GOG.com is the only official source then Steam and Origin are not legit either. If they want us to use their Galaxy client, it's a piece of crap right now. It's really nothing more than a browser and exactly matches your gog.com downloads page offering no additional functionality whatsoever.
Next thing you know CDPR will be implementing DRM of some sort after this incident. -
Ionising_Radiation ?v = ve*ln(m0/m1)
If they ever do that, i.e. implement DRM, they will be in deep excrement - probably as deep as or deeper than Valve was when they announced paid-for mods.
CDPR already are sinking in because of the graphics downgrade. It's just kept down and merely simmering because of the extreme censorship going on at the CDPR fora. There are always threads that pop through, but they get closed extremely quickly. After the release, there's probably going to be an explosion.
It's already happened here @ NBR - after I mentioned the graphics downgrade, this thread lengthened by some fifteen pages in a few short days. -
Just started downloading it. Surprised it's only 26GB~. Thought it'd be much larger.

Graphics whores be damned, I'm excited about this one!! Seems by Steam counter we'll be trying it out tomorrow evening. I'd rather a game that runs great over a "PC_OR_DIE" version that runs like crap. Whole thing is so silly, but whateva... I chop plenty of real garlic to worry about what it looks like in a blasted videogame lol.
-
Ionising_Radiation ?v = ve*ln(m0/m1)
I'm excited too. But playing a game where the devs spent an extra year tuning up for PCs (GTA V) versus a game where the devs spent an extra year cutting down for console parity (Witcher 3) is a whole different story.killkenny1 and octiceps like this. -

What's funny is those comparison gifs were made by MaLDo. Perhaps he's already plotting his next move. Witcher 3 HD restoration mod, anyone?

This is depressing :\
CDPR (o7 Ubisoft) to PC gamers everywhere:
And here's the best quality PC Ultra (incl. GameWorks) vs. PS4 comparison I've seen so far, which goes over most of the individual graphical settings:
Honestly, if you don't mind 30 FPS or have a below minspec PC, get it on console. There's almost zero difference between it and the maxed out PC experience.Last edited: May 18, 2015LanceAvion likes this. -

It's not just the meshes, textures, yadda yadda. CDPR killed the colour balance too. What was a dark, gritty game has become excessively over-exposed, cartoony and washed-out. Oh well, at least this is a problem that can be fixed (however partially) with SweetFX/ReShade.
-
Yeah in its current state, color correction is a must

Can I haz it? I too don't like how garlic looks it TW3. I would also love to suffer through the game while playing it on (hopefully) my future gimped 970 with only 3,5GBs of proper VRAM.Ionising_Radiation likes this. -

FIRST BENCHMARK
Seems they improved a lot the graphic and in the end its way more demanding than the preview version.960gtx cant get playable framerate on max settings without gameworks on 1080p(26-28.8fps) -
Well, that's disappointing. I was hoping for 30 fps maxed out on GTX 970M (which should get similar performance to GTX 960).
Also these numbers kinda explain graphics downgrades. Right now only Titan X can get 60 fps at 1080p maxed out (and that's without HairWorks, enabling that brings it down to just 53.2 fps avg / 50 fps min). Imagine how slow it would be with all those bells and whistles from earlier trailers turned on.
At least 900 series Maxwells seem to do better than Keplers and Radeons. Curious about GTX 980M and 970M performance. Let's hope there are some silly ultra settings to be turned down to bump up framerate with minimum visuals lost (given how similar PC version looks to consoles, there should be).
7 more hours to go ... -
Which adds to the validity of my argument, chances are when they threw everything they had together using the same settings used in the alpha builds it probably created a unstable build.

For some reason, I see this on GOG Galaxy:
"Release in less than an hour"? -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
For Pete's sake man, use ([Alt] +) Print Screen! -
What!?! GOG releasing early?
Also, I saw the supposed new comparison videos, and to be honest, the difference between low and ultra seemed so small... Obviously ultra looks better but still, I think ultra will be one of those taxing settings with little benefit to visual quality.MichaelKnight4Christ likes this. -

I was playing GTA, and didn't want to tab out. So I just whipped out my phone, took a picture and sent. Problem? -

Yes - this is not how we take screenshots in PC world. You should learn some stuff
.
Regarding to benches, I kinda expected TW3 to perform better after it had its graphics were gimped... -

*Sigh* people here argue over the smallest things... I know how to take screen captures (on Macs too). I was just lazy. Happy now?TomJGX likes this. -

i expected to be less demanding but a 970 is minimum for 1080p max setting with or without hairworks for 30+fps.I dont know why they listed 770gtx for recommended.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Graphics, Performance & Tweaking Guide
http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/gu...-hunt-graphics-performance-and-tweaking-guide
This is quite promising. Overall looks quite good, much nicer than those early reviews videos plagued by compression artefacts.
Those damn HairWorks monsters do look pretty (less visual impact on human hairs). I guess worth turning down some other features.
From quick check, things that do make obvious visual difference:
- texture quality (cheap)
- HairWorks (expensive)
- foliage visibility (expensive)
Things without big noticeable impact on visuals:
- antialiasing
- shadow quality
- water quality
- depth-of-field
- grass density
- foliage distance scale
Things that are cheap, but can be annoying, so you can turn them off and gain few frames/s:
- bloom
- light shafts
- motion blur
- chromatic aberration
- vignette
- sharpen
SSAO vs HBAO+ is kinda wash. Some things look better with the first one (indoors, characters), others with the second one (outdoors, foliage).Last edited: May 18, 2015Mr Najsman and killkenny1 like this. -
Replace "TW3" with "Watch Dogs” and we've traveled back in time exactly a year. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I will be shocked if my 5yo dual core runs this game but then again it ran gta 5 so it all depends on optimization on the lower end. I cant wait to report in on what my old pc thinks of this ha.

Lol man I thought I was tough pal your not easy but I respect that ...I think witcher 2 used more pre rendering and did not really utilize a real open world so they had space for more details on some things but tw2 was very restricted. The witcher 3 worlds even though it is downgraded from the 2013 promos still look very rich and have a lot of characters and animations and effects going on.I will praise projekt red if thing boots up on my ol girl.
I hear ya your specs are hardcore and mine (hp i5 540m, ati5650 1gb, 8gb) is not 4k material either lol I guess we'll find sooner or later how much Gerald of rivea likes 1 gb cards LOl. I did run w2 though but for this im very doubtful. -
