now if we could just get a heatsink for a 1080.

anyway, so any temp under 80 degrees is ok for a 1070?

Bro, anything under 90C is fine. Pascal temp throttles at 91C to protect itself. Dunno why you're so worked up about it.

Still does not appear as robust as the MSI version. Less mosfets, less phases, probably lower TGP rating, not safe to raise.

A worthy vega card would need to be 150w, if you're having issues with a 980m replacing with a hotter card isnt likely to help.

The Vega 56 on the Helios 500 is 120w TDP and performs mostly right below the 1070 iirc

It probably needs 150w to attract buyers to switch to AMD.

so....? i was talking about 45 degrees, not a 90 degree angle. in that case ure right, wouldnt make a difference for a square package/die :p but im talking about letting it "stand on its tip/corner" with regards to the lenght of the board :)

I'm not having temp issues anymore, gonna repaste the cpu with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut as the Condutonaut evaporated a little due to the space between heatsink and chip. Just have to turn the fans to max a few minutes before launching the game.

I've made a mistake in the calculations. It's a bit smaller than that - 48 x 48 mm instead of 51 x 51 mm. That's from the images and scaling and etc, since I don't have access to the exact chip size, only the GPU part.

Anyway, it's not that imposible after all, especially in the configuration that you've provided.

Other than that you need to consider signal influence, interference and cost, etc. You might be able to get a 15 layer PCB with Vega Core at $1500 that has 20% hazard rate over one year and 30% chance of haveing flickering screen.

Javi-Jie worked on the FHD kits for T420/T430 and it's not an easy thing. Otherwise Gecube shouldn't have struggled a lot

Have you tried polaris BIOS tools? Those worked fine for my miners. I modded my WX7100 to [email protected] /1950 and it's ETHash is ~28Mhs
OFC, f*** winbugs 10 and secure boot and all that ****ing bulls***. I used atikmdag patcher to deal with that s***hole.

China is a slow piece of #/(¤&)!/(¤ to ship my 4k monitor eDP, and then Bhiner F****** up the pricing on it, so I said well screw it I take the 1080p 120hz next best thing too in colour accuracy and contrast ratio.
It appears that it is indeed ENDURO that is the real bastard when it comes to limitations here, I also theorise it is indeed ENDURO that screws me over when it comes to vBIOS checker, why would my Vega 56 not have that yet the WX 7100 for laptop have it? Makes no sense, Vega has even more limitations when it comes to vBIOS hacks.
When Bhiner hurry up and ship my stupid monitor that I been waiting for two months now I will report back and test if W7 drivers will actually work this time around in W8.1, there no way I am using W10 on any of my main systems, LOL there no way, I rather like my files intact.

And if only the WX7100 worked in Clevo's..

I heard of Superbuy but never read much about it, might try it out in the future if the prices are lower, biggest problem for me is whether they accept PayPal, Norwegian banks are completely useless for chargebacks in case I get really screwed over.

W7170M does not work with any Clevo machine, I can confirm this, the Chinese have tested it on the P150EM and got the same issue as usual, boots and then you get black screen and the usual warning sounds because its temperature reader is not compatible with Clevo it is built to Dell standard only.

Its one of the main reasons why I got rid of my P150EM beside the obnoxious audio issues.

Of course it supports PayPal, otherwise I wouldnt use it. They also have really fast shipping.

Shame about the W7170M, I would have gotten two, for my P377SMA (CFX?) and one for my M6700. I would have no reason to not believe it can be Crossfired, as shown by my M6100 XDMA CFX (with eDP screen)
I don't really want to get rid of it because it's kind of rare to find these for a good enough price compared to the M17X R4/17 R1

Might get a WX7100 for my M6700 eventually

As a very famous person said, "cut the blue wire!" Of course, all the wire's are black, so I'll figure it out as I go
Or I could just HWinfo, but its a little buggy. Speedfan seems to work less and less on my machines with each passing day

If you buy their workstation with the WX7100, it comes in MXM format I think, as there is no way its a full desktop card and I don't believe it's soldered. Might be able to ask for pricing

They are closed for tonight on Live Chat but ill ask them tomorrow.

iirc its a 120w card unless I am mistaken? its a RX 480 but as a 1200 core boost clock, stock desk cards pull about 150w(or more if modded I would think).

I know the 980m's are easy to source and priced pretty well but I hear nvidia + linux are a match made in hell for linux and I am tired of fighting my computer lol.
