Who cares? Just enjoy dat epic download speed. Some people would kill for such Internet throughput.
-
its probably time to buy and download all origin games then to enjoy the full speed
on the otherhand, try some p2p downloading to see if they work the way too -
Is it possible they just had everything highly compressed, and then during installation the huge audio files were uncompressed? Meaning, you only downloaded say 17GB (XboxOne size) for a 50GB install? Otherwise, I have no idea... I have a 50Mbit connection and have never seen download speeds anywhere near your 10MB/s, much less 65MB/s. As octiceps said however enjoy that wave while it lasts if its real!

Anyone tried the campaign yet?

One of the things Origin does right is the download speed.
And that you can pin websites on the ingame overlay. Can use it to watch vids on YouTube & Twitch while playing.
Editing some Titanfall vids for anyone wondering how the final game plays out but dont take the chat too seriously, me and my friends where just talking nonsense most of the time. (They played GTA5)
Yeah, its not a real singleplayer campaign but i kinda liked it. Kinda makes it fresh to play against some real people as well as the bots. -
I wasn't aware there was a singleplayer experience at all other than Bots as AI instead of real players in matches... is it structured/mission like with a story?
-
There are 9 campaign missions (10 if you count the tutorial) and while you play you can hear the story characters talking and stuff and once complete you unlock the other team to experience their side of the story.
While you play the story you unlock stuff for MP as well as the two extra mech forms. Still better than the singleplayer of BF3 though.

Cool, I was under the impression it was 100% online multi or simply adding bots in place of online players. I enjoyed the beta, need to pick up a copy.
-
The campaign is still online based though, but il take this over the SP of BF3 and BF4 any day. lol
You can get Titanfall pretty cheap by following the tips on this reddit: Where is the cheapest place to buy Titanfall for PC? US here : titanfall -
Hi! Can u guys suggest the best graphic settings to get a steady 60 fps on my Lenovo Y500. I'm currently using 335.23 Nvidia's driver and SLI profile from this which is the only SLI profile working i can find right now, but still getting 25 something when things get too crazy.
-
i think the sli still has glitches.
talk of turning of v-sync which can help but thats only from reading the forums as its not released until tomorrow in the uk
-
Has anyone tried the game in Crossfire yet, have those issues been resolved from the beta? I am going to be picking up the game later today, hopefully I can utilize both of my cards
-
Man i was hoping i could get this damn Titanfall clip done today but getting trolled so hard thanks to it being encoded in variable frame rate. D: Got a semi working output but im not that happy with the results as the video appears more jerky compared to the source. Should have kept it simple by using HandBrake instead of derping with stupid tutorials on ffmpeg and stuff. >_>

Unfortunate to see they haven't reduced the amount of time between rounds since the beta... seriously BF has only 1 minute of cool down and the rounds in that game go for way longer. Annoying.
-
If you used ShadowPlay to record that, I am in no way surprised at all the problems you've been having.Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015

I dont think MSI Afterburner with NVENC and Nvidia Shadowplay handles video the same way but my two biggest issues when editing was variable framerate and that it was saved in a .mkv container. After a bunch of "solutions" found online i went with the basics, run the clip in Handbrake and encode it in constant 60 frames per second. My media player decode the source just fine and i cant detect any stuttering on the Handbrake output so hopefully my next try will better represent the game. The YouTube clip above was made from the source after it went through MkvToMp4. Usually just record with Lagarith at 30fps but that codec at 1920x1080 + livestreaming to Twitch ends up being too much for my poor notebook.

still wondering how to read the correct KDR.... 4.2 doesn't make sense
-
So, uh... Yea. "Titanfall". I'd like to call it an "above-average shooter", but I just can't.
1) No high ping kick feature? As soon as people with pings over 250 start to join everyone just leaves. What is this, 2002?
2) Graphics don't seem that good for a modern, triple A title. I expected more even from the CoD hooligans.
3) More camera shake than a Michael J. Fox home video.
4) No directions/instructions/manuals of any kind.
5) You can't select your anti-Titan weapon via the mouse wheel? The hell is that?
$40 down the drain... Oh wait! I'm getting my money refunded :troll face: -
Im guessing you bought it from Origin then? The game is not for everyone but its nice to see EAs refund option actually working.
After the blunder i hit with BF4 i began ordering from the more expensive Origin store.
-
Is there a game that you do like? Genuinely curious.
-
Ok, I just picked it up, what the hell. Now downloading all 49.99GB of it.
-
If you need a wingman then send me a msg.
My playstyle is more on the stupid side so the enemy goes all confused. lol

My previous comment is why you don't start your day with video games, haha. Dat fury!
I don't understand the nature of the question.
Bought it from the Mexican Origin store for $40 instead of getting ripped off for $65. I'll definitely be doing that more often, though. Actually, I'll probably just pre-order all games on Origin so I can play them for free for a week  But yea, I was really surprised the refund option was available and working. I have until 3am to refund the game (speaker system > video game).
Sadly, a fresh coat of paint doesn't make an old car new (there's another idiom I'm looking for here...). Feels and looks too similar to the past handful of CoD games. One might even make the argument that it's a faster paced game compared to the CoD series, as well. But yea, matchmaking, no kick feature, and not being able to select your anti-Titan weapon from the mouse wheel were pretty "meh". Seems like a few 'industry standards' for FPS games were thrown out the window, but that's just me.
In short, I feel like the Titans and the wallrunning are the only differences between this and CoD and both of those have been used in other games (to a much better extent). Ah well, they tried. -
You only have 24 hours from the time you launch the game first time, within 7 days of date of purchase or date of release if you pre-order. You don't get 7 days to play the game. You don't get to play them for the full week:
http://help.ea.com/en/article/returns-and-cancellations/
" To request a refund for a digital product, visit your Order History and click the “Request a Refund” link next to any eligible product. Complete and submit the Refund Request Form. You’ll get a response within 48 hours and your refund within 10 days if you meet the criteria, i.e., your refund request is submitted within 24 hours of the first time you launch the game, within seven days from your date of purchase, or within seven days from the game's release date if you pre-ordered, whichever comes first."Mr Najsman likes this. -
In what other games are those features implemented better?
-
I read that it had to do with it downloading compressed audio files and decompressing them, but counting the download speed as the size of the decompressed files.
Hence the seemingly impossible download speeds. -
That's odd. The EA/Origin page that I read did not include the "...whichever comes first" part (which is kind of crucial). I might actually send them a notice about that. They screw enough people over as it is
Thanks for pointing that out, HT.
Wait, really? Wall running and mechs? It's not like "Titanfall" is the first game that's utilized wall running/climbing. "Prince Of Persia", "Mirror's Edge", "Assassin's Creed", "inFamous" (I believe), countless superhero games (I'm looking at you, Spider-Man), the list is massive. I understand that "Titanfall" is science fiction, but the wall running was extremely dry and didn't leave me going, "Damn, that's awesome. Let's do that fifty more times". Hell, even "Doom" had better wall running than "Titanfall"
There are also a ton of great games that have mechs in them. -
The thing I don't like is that the Titans feel way underpowered. I feel that you should get only one per round, but make them very powerful and take longer for them to appear. Mechs should be something to fear, not just something to target with a different weapon, and a bigger target, which is all they are.
It is definitely a fast paced action game though. Still working out the kinks myself. But it seems a bit shallow. -
Btw it seems the multiplayer map Lagoon still needs some work, got mad fps drops playing that one and im guessing its because of all the water.
-
I've only ever seen you complain about games, so I'm wondering if there are any games you enjoy.
Also, saying that Titans and wallrunning are the only differences between this and CoD is like saying that "crime" and "missions" are the only differences between GTA and Need for Speed. Pretty substantial differences.
I'm not saying it's perfect by any means, but saying it's basically CoD is a pretty absurd statement. -
I have to disagree, I think they struck a pretty good balance with the Titans. It's a sizable increase in firepower without feeling invincible. Making the Titans a once per round thing would change this to a much slower game, which has its own appeal but would be completely different from what they've done here. You can even see it in the playstyle difference between a mode like Attrition and Last Titan Standing.
-
There are only a couple of threads I follow on NBR anymore so I assume you're talking about the "Battlefield" series and now "Titanfall", lol. There are more games in the world than just those
Also, my "Titan/wall running" comment was clearly an exaggeration. Are they the only differences between this and the "CoD" series? Of course not. However, it's merely my opinion that "Titanfall" draws upon too many parallels from that particular game franchise and it really shows. I also agree with HT's comment of it being a bit shallow as I mentioned the wall running being very bland, among other things.
Bad:
- The fact that developers feel the need to put in a campaign mode no matter how terrible it is (EA seems to be the largest culprit, as of late).
- The music sounded like it was so far in the background that I wonder why they even used any to begin with.
- The evac dropships had this "Everybody gets a gold star" feel to them like Respawn was trying to make sure everyone felt like they won. It would have only been cool if the number of survivors affected later campaigns somehow.
Good:
- The huge (and I mean huge) creatures seen at the end of the "The Three Towers" campaign mission. I was disappointed the Titans didn't make me go "Oh dang", but was happy at least something in the game did.
- As HT said, Titans weren't a source of fear as I had initially thought. I took out many a Titan single-handedly. Reminded me of the Titans in "Eve Online". Early Eve players knew a Titan meant "Run!", but nowadays, with so many of them, the reactions are more along the lines of, "Oh, yet another Titan."
- It was too fast paced of a game to really pay attention (unless I just sat there and did nothing), but I liked how the campaign shifted according to who won and lost.
Anyway, sorry if I come across as a jagoff, [hockeymass]. I've gotten weirdly critical of video games as of late and I have no clue as to why... -
Well, those are just the only games I've seen you comment on
The campaign is extremely lackluster, IMO. The only reason I'm bothering with it is to unlock the other Titans (Ogre and Stryder).
I think the response to the pacing of the game is kind of a matter of taste. I've played slow-paced mech games like Earthsiege and Mechwarrior, and I enjoy them, but I also enjoy the acrobatics and frenetic pace of Titanfall. The satisfaction of taking down one Titan with your 40MM cannon, ejecting, blasting another one with your rocket launcher from mid-air, and then landing on a third and taking it down rodeo-style, or riding on the back of a friendly Titan and blasting everything you see is a lot of fun. -
How do you eject someone off you if a pilot is on your back? I get notification that one is there, but there's nothing I can do about that?
-
Either get someone else to shoot them, use the electric smoke tactical ability, or jump out and shoot them.
-
I'm so confused, I thought this was based on the Teen Titans...

I don't get it. Many times my Titan was destroyed before I could even get to it, within it's shield, within a few seconds. Isn't it supposed to be protected for a little bit by the shield? I mean litearlly 20m away, yet it's destroyed before I can even get to it.
-
with default keyboard settings, hold E to exit the titan,
then shoot that rodeo guy(the guy on your titan's back)
also, if you find yourself in trouble but not doomed whilst wanting to nuclear eject (in some situations, you cornered another titan knowing that he'd knock you back and escape before you get to nuke eject, simply press X and then double tap E to perform a manual, nuclear ejection, just so you know a well cornering nuclear eject can get you 3 titan kills
-
Playing the "campaign". Seems at the end it's usually 6v3 or 5v2 in the end. That sucks, no wonder we keep losing horribly.
-
don't forget in every blockbuster shooter games we have those 13 year olds who rage quit whenever things go wrong
i've had a game where me and my friend is the only one on the team, whilst the other 4 players rage quitted -
That didn't really happen to me. There's really no reason to ragequit since you get credit for the mission whether you win or lose and I would assume most people are just doing the campaign to unlock the Ogre and Stryder.
-
I usually roll the survivor perk when i use my Titan, even when doomed i got enough time to wipe out a few more fools before ejecting. My favourite game mode by far is capture the flag as long as its not on Lagoon, i hate that awesome lagfest map.
-
Yes I have read those theories too, sounds about right.
Do any of those games combine wallrunning and mechs?
Agreed, that one and Demeter are the worst offenders for me. Reading this thread it seems there´s something fishy with the shadows. I can´t flip it back forth like they suggest, it crashes my game. But I disabled it like someone mentions in the end and the stutter is reduced. Still there on Demeter but not as much.
It runs smoother with shadows disabled and everything high (no AA) than all on low. -
whats everyone elses default setting and what have you changed them too. i have no idea whats best for my 680
must admit on the default the picture quality was average and it looks a lot better now but how do you work out if it can be set even higher. gpu temperature is still very low at 50-60c
these were my default settings, and what ive changed them too:
res - 1280x720 - now set to 1920x1080
AA - none - 2xMSAA
v-ync - double buffered - same
fov 70 - same
texture res - insane - same
texture filtering - bilinear - anisotropic 2 (what the heck are these names)
lighting quality - low - high
shadow detail - disabled - medium
effects detail - low - medium
model detail - low - medium
impact marks - high - same
ragdolls - high - same -
All medium/high on 765m and 40fps+ for the most part at 1080p.
-

-
I bet you didn't know the titan's gonna fall(again)
i'm rocking the gtx675mx, its smooth at 60fps with everything maxed out, vsync disabled, so i bet your 680m can go a bit higher on the AA and texture filtering (maxed, if i'm being correct), though i did OC my clock speed from 666 to 888 and vram from 1800(forgot, maybe 2000) to 2200, so i'm just about getting 1/3 extra performance compared to stock speed, oh, and the FOV is at 90, still not breaking a sweatLast edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
I love titanfalling people its the greatest, also anyone know if titans count toward KDR?
-
Every kill registered will contribute to your KDR
But only your true KDR (pilot kills) matter
