Aww come on. That chest also probably has a sweet roll..![]()
This is true though, you would maybe expect to be more highly rewarded for finding a random dungeon. This is something dragon age: inq did a little better. Even if what you have is already a little better, getting to or doing the work to reveal random or side dungeons was more rewarding in that game.

Even Skyrim did it a little better, though usually in a way that I got the suspicion I was being made fun of.
And DA:I did make the harder to find stuff worth it even if there's not a lot of opportunities to do so. Don't want to seem like I'm dissing either one, I love them to death. -
I can see how the jumping around might not be what you want (Japanese gamers generally didn't want it, that's for sure). You probably wouldn't like ZTD either: further refined gameplay from VLR at the cost of even less coherent storytelling.

There's that and I felt that there was way more dialogue in VLR than 999. That's the main reason why I prefer the first Danganronpa game to the second. Despite the mysteries in the latter being a bit better constructed, there's so much conversation that it drags down the pacing. -
Yeah. VLR is a bigger game with 24(?) final branches at the ends compared to 999's 7.
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is due on Steam late next month.
Been playing the Generation Xth (aka Operation Abyss/Babel) games. Always did prefer Wizardry to Ultima. -
Tried Lone Echo for Oculus and it might just be a candidate for killer app for VR I was looking for, it really demonstrates the advantaged of the medium

ghost recon: wildlands - deluxe stutter edition.

+1
Best graphics game I have played for a long time..
Very smooth engine.. -
Pathfinder Adventure Card Game on steam (I own all the tabletop sets and the mobile version), also still making my way through Borderlands 2 though I put it aside to do some PACG.

Might try that one with ReVive, it looks really cool. -
Do you think this game is worth it if you're not playing online with others?
-
I'm taking a break from PC gaming to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which has been a blast so far. Highly recommended, especially if you'll enjoy Nintendo's other offerings down the line (Metroid, Mario, etc. - I wouldn't buy a Nintendo Switch just for one game.)
-
Reinstalled Splinter Cell: Blacklist and it still runs pretty good for a 2013 game
-
Absolutely.
It's a tad repetitive the single player missions but definitely awesome especially roaming around with the helicopter.
Good luck

Highly recommend trying Lone Echo out, I'm unsure if the revive supports finger tracking though as it's integral part of the gameplay.
I'd like to know as well, although I've heard tremendous praise with the co-op experience -
I wouldn't buy any console for just one game. My rule of thumb is 3 games before I take a console seriously.
-
Nintendo is good for enough unique exclusives that it's worthwhile getting their stuff if you like the style of their games.Prototime likes this.

Following your rule of 3, I bought a PS4 for the following three titles:
-The last of us
-All of the Uncharted series
-Red dead redemption
It's shocking to me how good these games are. I do feel cheated not having them on pcChanceJackson and hmscott like this. -
PC + Nintendo has always been the best combo for gaming. Anyways, I am playing Forza Horizon 3, Overwatch, Doom and Heroes of the Storm lately. On my XBox One, NBA 2K17, Rocket League.

Had the weekend to myself, so dragged out the Nintendo Wii and played emulated Mario 64 while listening to '90s Music and drinking Surge.

I don't get nostalgic for much, but that definitely hit the spot. -
The new Mordor expansion of LOTRO. Still fun after 10 years.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Finished The Rise Of The Tomb Raider for the second time.
Now play a a match or two in CSGO, don't play anything else currently. -
XCOM2 Long War 2 with tons of cosmetic mods installed and voice packs. I now have the following squads:
Predator 1 (incl. the Predator model itself)
Predator 2 (incl. the Predator model itself)
Predator Rejects (characters from Predators + the Super Predator models)
Mass Effect (incl. Mordin, Garrus, Wrex, Grunt, Tali, Kasumi, Thane, basically every character model)
Alien (incl. Pulse Rifles for every tier)
Star Wars (incl. Jedi class and Gunslinger class mods)
KOTOR 1/2
Clone Wars (incl. Commander Cody w/ Obi-Wan leading)
Star Trek TNG
Star Trek DS9
Backups (incl. Iron Man model, Black Panther model, Catwoman model, Arkham Knight model, Bane model)
God, I just love the cosmetic mods available for XCOM2. After beating vanilla, it really makes a difference for replayability on LW2 and since these are all characters I'm familiar with, I'm extra gutted every time I get a "That's XCOM" moment.
Recently had Elmo Dukat miss a point blank 90% shot that would have ended the pod. Then he takes a critical to the face and dies. Bashir managed to lug his body out of there, though, so he could get a proper Cardassian funeral back on Deep Space 9, I mean The Avenger.
XCOM just brings out my inner super-nerd, I guess.
Also struggling to finish Dragon Age Inquisition. It's just so long that it's become a slog, and it's taken me so long that I can't remember any details of the story outside. Just gotten to the Well of Sorrows, hope it ends soon! -
Meh. Overwatch wannabe...
-
it's so not on the same level as overwatch.
-
I requested refund.
-
Wow is it that bad?

As in better or worse?
-
nah, they just can't handle it!
It's more fast-paced than overwatch with a focus on anti-gravity combat.
Overwatch requires no skill. Lawbreakers requires you to have some skill.
Plus the art aesthetic is pretty cool. -
Meh. Lawbreakers felt unpolished and very generic to me. I didn't notice any anti-gravity combat in the few rounds I played.
-
Damn, shots fired.
-
it's been stated by other sources so it's not posturing.
-
Unreal Tournament requires no skill. Quake requires you to have some skill.
See, I can do that too.
-
do what? talk?
-
Isn't that what everyone does? Game "journos" (kek) included.
-
I enjoy lawbreakers.
-
We should leave this garbage at the door.
-
Serious question though, what makes the opinions of people who write about video games for a living more valid? Because as far as I can tell, they are less qualified for their job than journalists in other fields. Many of them don't even have a degree in journalism or media/communications. They're just glorified bloggers.
-
It's just one person's opinion. Find ones you like and fit your style and maybe they'll steer you. In the end it's just some human's opinion. I like some and some I don't jive with. I think we should just leave bashing "journos" and kek out of our space though.ChanceJackson likes this.

Oh I get it now. It was the marketing you referring to. Skilled AF.

Since it's in a commercial, it must be true!

Pfft you all want to talk about skill, then you have to talk about Tribes (not including Ascend). Fast, frictionless movement (skiing), z-axis gaming (jetpacks), all projectile (no hitscan BS), all projectiles are relatively slow (meaning insane leading).
The skill required to play Tribes at an extremely high level was off the charts, and typically people good at Tribes translated extremely well into other FPS games.
As someone who played competitive Tribes for years, I have never played another FPS that required as much practice and training as Tribes when it came to being good at killing, and this doesn't even take into account the meta game of competitive CTF.
(Granted it's not as twitchy as something like Quake, but it's a different kind of skill and one I find harder to get better at.)
You're moving 200kph, chasing the enemy flag carrier with about 2km distance between you, and you've got to aim a projectile that inherits velocity, across a distance that is played mostly in the air.
Sigh I miss Tribes.
Mid Air, currently in development with alpha access, is the spiritual successor to Tribes. Check out these insane shots / clutch plays at insane speeds. And while "Shad" is very well known for being great at Tribes, this isn't even one of the better videos.
It's hard to explain to someone who has only ever played modern cramped arena shooters just how tough these shots are.
While I'd argue that the peak level of skill for most competitive shooters are pretty similar to each other, the learning curve of Tribes is far, far steeper.Last edited: Aug 11, 2017
