Currently playing Wolfenstein II with the help of a Sonnet eGPU and GTX 1070. On times away from the eGPU I'm replaying Ultima VII having last played it almost 27 years ago.![]()

wanted to buy battalion 1944 but it's just a COD2 remake and not the objective stuff I want like in battlefield so....PASS!

TBH it's more like CoD5 promod. CoD2 was really slow. -
objective stuff is more fun than simply doing 360 no scope BS.

You should look into Day of Infamy then.

Just got back on playing DOTA2

I'm still playing a smattering of Sniper 4. It may be the worst game I've ever enjoyed playing the crap out of if you take my meaning. Recently I've moved into finishing areas with only my silenced pistol, hand to hand, etc. Picked Grim Dawn back up with the new expansion and still feel like it's missing something, I don't know what. I can have fun for a while but it never really hits me with Diablo like addiction that these style games can bring on.

Every time I think I'm almost done with Divinity:OS there's some random thing I have to go do. Still like it, but jeez...
EDIT: IT IS DONE.
Just in time to start the 2nd one, bought it during the sale could not help myself...Last edited: Feb 19, 2018 -
Playing Bayonetta 1+2.
-
Finished playing "spent the weekend moving all my media, backups, etc., from the Synology NAS to a BYO server with ECC RAM and a decent CPU because Synology kit is garbage and the company can't be arsed to take Meltdown and Spectre seriously".
-
Unless you're using your Synology as a shared platform or run crazy 3rd party apps on it they don't really apply.

I'm currently playing Endless Journey! And it is so good game! Just look this review! https://gamebestnews.com/reviews/adv...venture-games/

Started Divinity: OS2.. so good so far, I really like it. I'm not far along yet but some things that seem improved:
- 4K is improved, UI is nice
- performance seems better while the graphics are improved
- I really like the narrator explaining unspoken facial expressions and such, nice touch from the tabletop world
- quests and story is good so far but I've only scratched the surfacekillkenny1 likes this. -
I've got tons of games I bought but haven't played! It's a common yet bad thing to do, IMO.
Anyway, I'm currently playing FFXII: Zodiac Age on PC. It's been one of my favorites from the main series. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Yup the addition of narrator was smart move. Voice actor (and VO director) did a great job! Definitely brings a unique touch to the game.
Only wish Obsidian would follow Larian's example and did the same thing (together with full voice acting).
Enjoy the game! It's a great one! They improved on DOS in every possible way, except maybe smithing, it's useless...
It was a GOTY 2017 for me.hfm likes this. -
No, I don't really agree. At least not necessarily. It depends on the game. When a protagonist's character is scripted then full voice work is fine, and can be amazing some times. But when the protagonist's character is defined by me then the voice work damages the game for me. Because, for examples, two completely different versions of Cdr. Sheppard or the Sole Survivor sounding exactly the same is wrong, and none of them necessarily sound like what *my* Cdrs. Sheppard and Sole Survivors sound like.
YMMV.mtness likes this. -

I think we're talking specifically about how DOS2 will have a narrator jump in and narrate unspoken things like an NPC "wrinkling her eyebrow and glaring slyly while gently spinning her dagger on the tabletop" before launching back into the NPC voiceover.. it works much better than the way Obsidian did it where those same types of things were in the text and you had to try to read it while the voiceovers were happening.
It ends up being like a DM is there running those NPC's and giving them more flavor. I don't think I've ever heard the narrator jumping in for the PC's that way but I might have just gotten into it and didn't notice it happening when I have the PCs talk to one another.killkenny1 likes this. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Protagonists' dialogues aren't voiced in DOS2. -
I'm playing one of the origin characters (Sebille). I wonder if that changes anything. I'll pay close attention next time I play.
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
I'm playing Lohse myself.
As far as I remember (haven't played DOS2 in a while), random PCC phrases or interactions with NPCs are voiced, however in dialogue menu PCC doesn't talk, when you choose a reply option.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.hfm likes this. -
This is different from "fully voiced". I thought you were describing part of a full voicing for a game, which can be a problem. Depends on the game. But I do see the point: when a voice says one thing and the text says something else? That's bad.
-
The text had the exact dialog in Pillars, there were just extra things in brackets explaining the mood and character actions.. [he sighs deeply..]
Have you played either Pillars or DOS2? These aren't like mass effect where every dialog scene is a camera close up on the characters. Not that it's bad, but things like ME tend to look robotic sometimes. It's super expensive to do those things well, and ME ends up a little flat sometimes. Not all of them can have Witcher 3 level skill and detail.
Pillars and DOS2 try to stay isometric and bring in a lot of things from tabletop rpg gaming. DOS2 just did a great job of having a DM type narrator fill the colorful gaps and if you've played a lot of tabletop rpgs it brings a smile to your face because it just works.. It's brilliant.
Edit: I don't think I'm spoiling anything with this, but one encounter I just got into there was a strange "disembodied voice" in the turn order.. I was like what is this? Then all it did was speak on its turn in an omnipresent way.. was pretty cool.. this is the closest I've ever seen anything get to tabletop..Last edited: Feb 25, 2018killkenny1 likes this. -
No, but now that you describe it I recognize it from the old D&D games like Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment. Obsidian have been doing that since before they were Obsidian. "Good" to know that some things never change.
-
The old infinity engine games are precursors, but they didn't do this type of dialog. I'll leave it alone you wouldn't understand unless you tried it, or have played a ton of tabletop rpgs.

No, I understand. I just can't articulate it.
(Yes, I have played a ton of tabletop games: mostly Champions and Palladium FRPG, some AD&D, some more recent D&D, some Shadowrun, some Storyteller, and some others

Kindom Come: Deliverance.
Finally released on GOG! I hoped they would drop the patch they promised before the release on GOG, but alas, it did not happen.
Still, the game is astonishing! Spent about 5 hours in prologue, and so far it's amazing , minus constant freezes and lockpicking...
And the forests, man, the forests!

I tried Ion Maiden on steam and it plays really well

Never looked at first Max Payne as "underappreciated gem." I think it was pretty well received and well known back then. -

Playing the following on my new surface book with performance base
* Metro 2033

just finished wolfenstein II the new colossus last night. always been a total sucker for the wolfenstein series ever since return to castle wolfenstein. played every part and was never disappointed
think im gonna skip the DLC packs though, they sound pretty boring, especially without BJ as the protagonist!
next up: hm... still got the bioshock series, of which ive only played part 1 thus far, havent finished it yet... also got the two prey games (old and new), the new tomb raider series and some C&C games to (re)play.

Getting close to the end of my first Xenoblade 2 play through. Got super-lucky last night: Vale from a common core and no boosters. Only need KOS-MOS to complete the set.
NieR: Automata route C. Picked up the game at half price on the recent Squenix Steam sale.JRE84 likes this. -
Jessica Valiant one is good. Gunslinger Joe was also good, but I liked Silent Assassin much better.
I started playing the Captain Wilkins one last night, it's ok so far, good to have more new Wolf.. but not as good as this first ones.
It would be cool if they could do a longer Jessica Valiant one, kind of like maybe a $20-30 product in the vein of The Old Blood. Maybe a full back/origin story game.Last edited: Mar 17, 2018jaybee83 likes this. -
i think there is still one more game possible after the new colossus, to see the revolution to its full glory & proper end in the US and maybe even expand to other countries & settings. with the end boss being AH
