Speaking of, I'm probably not alone in this but I just got a 25% off coupon for Divinity: Original Sin 2 into my Steam account.

Says it's tradable, anyone want it? I don't really want anything in return but I suppose steam will force the trade to have an an item on both sides? Never traded anything on Steam before. If anyone has been wanting D:OS2 here's a chance to snag it for 25% off...

It’s not like people make it out to be.

The game runs like butter! And just looks unbelievable.

Ive got it at 3840x2160 resolution. All (3) view distances at 100%

Everything on Ultra, and only shaders on medium and shadows on medium. I cannot see a visual difference.

It’s locked at about 34 frames per second 99% of the time. So far I’m 19 hours in the game with these settings.

With G-Sync it feels great! More like 45 FPS.

My gtx1070 is performing on the high end of the spectrum of the average gtx1070 laptop. Matching the average stock gtx1080.

    But it runs great!

1440P is much easier everything ultra 46-59 FPS

I never got in to the Witcher. I played a little but I never gave it a solid chance either.

Almost like that movie you could never follow, or pay attention to. You liked the idea of it, but it never reeled you in.

Received one of these coupons as well. And I don't even have DOS2 on Steam!

Anyway, it says it's valid until 30.03.2018, so if anyone wants it, just holla.

Not sure but majority of gamers on the internet are saying it's caused by FOV setting and chromatic aberation(in case of Doom). What I don't understand is why other fps games doesn't affect me the way these games are.

    "It depends".

For me the factors are usually narrow field of view (including, especially, confined spaces like narrow corridors and tunnels), too-fast camera rotation speeds, motion blur and depth of field blur. Any one of these alone is usually just an annoyance, but start combining them and get me a barf bag.

Just curious... Am I the only one that's been Watching MechWarrior 5 develop? Loved the genre and Mech 1 was my first computer video game that wasn't text based. Video here ----->

Along the same lines I went from those early games into hardcore flight sims and I think I'm going to jump into DCS FA18 as soon as it releases. Looks pretty savory for those that like this sort of thing. Video here------>

Looking forward to MW5. Played them all since 2. Its starting to look really good but i prefered that they went with the era of when the clans attacked though. Thats my favorite story part of the Battletech universe. Clan Jade falcon, Clan wolf etc. Also they have the coolest mechs, Timberwolf!

I would have rather seen something a little different myself but I'd guess considering the range of possibilities it might not be easy to get any solid consensus on the "right" game to make. I do recall reading somewhere that the game is limited somewhat in what they could do at the start of development and what they can do now which has changed as the IP disputes have progressed. However that may be I'm glad we're finally seeing something coming to fruition. I'm thinking they're really going to have to botch it not to have some success. I was in at hello and I suspect I'm not alone in that, it was why I posted. I know there are more of us. :)

I got into the Battletech unvierse because of the cartoons in the 90s after that checked some of the books etc. But that era was got me into it so secretly I was hoping it would be a story arc in the same Battletech Era but not complaining. This game looks stellar, the sounds etc. Instabuy for me.

I also played some MWO but for some reason I didnt get into that. Maybe because it was slightly p2w.

I... didn't. The introduction of the Clans ruined Battletech. Clan tech is so superior to Inner Sphere tech that you can't have a fair match between the two. Yes, that was by design and it might have been good for the universe but it was (and remains) bad for the game.

Yeah i like it storywise & lorewise. Never played the actual board game.

Also the clan mechs just look better :D

But im so happy they pick the universe up again in videogames.

Will try out the battletech RTS as well which is coming this month.

TBH, I'm waiting until after March 14, 2021 before I consider getting into Battletech again.

Reason being, that's the day Harmony Gold USA's rights to Macross outside Japan expire. What this means for Battletech is that whoever owns the IP will be able to (re-)license many of the images of the original and now "unseen" battlemechs from the Japanese rights holders. Whether or not this will happen remains to be seen (pun not intended).

It's a curiosity thing... I don't find RTS's as satisfying as I used to and it seems to me that those around me agree on average although perhaps it's just confirmation bias? No worries about hurting my feelings, I'm a crusty old man that grew up in the age of actually allowing others to have a differing opinion.

I really haven't liked a strategy game much since the original Command and Conquer. Maybe one of the Warcraft games. I am finding Endless Space 2 somewhat entertaining though let's see how long that lasts.

I try a lot of them but it always ends up seeming too much like work and I bail on them soon after.

"Robotech: Battlecry" if you can find it is probably the closest you'll get, because it's Banpresto otherwise and their games are terrible (I regret importing "Digital Mission VF-X" and a Zeta Gundam game back in the day). But check out Battlecry if you can. It's not Armored Core but I put it a close enough second.

I've only played it that way, for some reason while I do better in first person with KB/M I seem to do better in third person with a controller.
