    What command?
I know you don't need their launcher, but their stupid account was still forced even if you bought on Steam.
Pretty dumb in my opinion, and I refuse to create yet another useless account to play a game, even if you can make a fake one.

I skipped Doom Eternal and decided to install RDR2 finally after having bought it at the holiday sale. At the rate I'm playing games these days it'll last me all year...

    Enjoy it!
RDR2 is a type of game you feel empty inside once you finish it...
It was quite an experience for me...

So far I'm having a lot of fun in Doom Eternal but it's messing with my head a bit as I'm also playing PUBG and Ring of Elysium. The issue is that in the BR games mentioned, I've got used to playing with very low mouse sensitivity (30cm mouse pad travel = 270 degrees turning). These setting really don't play well with Doom type games but I also don't want to hurt my aiming/flicking progression...

I can play Doom just fine with a lower sens than that (45 cm/360). Getting a bigger mouse pad helps.

Just finished Mortal Kombat 11, awesome game and the story mode is awesome, it's a mixture between gameplay and watching a movie. The graphics are insane in this game especially the fatalities. [IMG]

Love Gears franchise... all of them are loads of fun. I got stuck in a spot in Gears 5 where I can't kill the boss (yet) so I gave it a rest. It had me wound up like an 8-day clock trying to kill that sucker. I can't get her to stay frozen long enough to pump enough lead into the vulnerable spot on her back.

I'm having unexpected fun in Deadside.

As almost every release nowadays, it's early access, $20 on steam and it's an operworld pvp/pve survival shooty game. It's got heavy dayz and scum influences (sans zombies), some tarkov elements (traders, safe zones, item hoarding). As far as I can tell, it's using the same engine as scum but honestly making the game overly complex was what turned me away from scum. This is much simpler, much easier to find things and just get into some action.

By the way, new map in Ring of Elysium. Just tried it for a couple games. I haven't decided yet how I feel about it. The map is much smaller and to be honest, less complex. Not sure how it'll work out for them but I still love the gunplay. Feels way better than pubg for example.

If this makes someone really want to play JC4 and not support epic (which I totally understand), there are options: JC4 steam keys on kinguin, g2a or similar sites are under $10. That's like a 6 pack or random beer, a burger, 6 rolls of toilet paper.

Just sayin', there are options ;)

I did have fun with JC4 but to be honest I think I enjoyed a bit more JC2 and 3.

So instead of “supporting Epic”, you’d rather support gray market key resellers? If morality is the objective here, this is a what they call cutting off your nose to spite your face.

And that also goes for people who pirate EGS exclusive games rather than buy them legally. Just saying, if those people had actual principles, they have the choice of not playing the game.

    Absolutely, 100%, zero regrets.

Epic is everything what's wrong with the current gaming market. No point in going into details here, there's a good thread with clear data.

Although I was very much of an age that I could have played them when they were released, I never actually played the Half Life games. Until now. I just beat Black Mesa (remaster of Half Life) and the MMod version of Half Life 2: Update, and now I'll be playing the Half Life 2 episodes. I'm surprised how well the games have held up over the past couple of decades. Loads of fun.

Two slightly new games caught my eyes. Well, one of them is not new, it may have only received an update lately.

Mist Survival. Seems like an interesting little singleplayer survival game. While I'm having fun in Deadside and Ring of Elysium, sometimes one gets tired of only pvp and human interaction (ironic these days). Deadside is very cool, but I'm slightly annoyed because I like solo and I only seem to run into squads of snowflakes who are too scared to play alone... whoa, sidetracked.

Looks a bit dated (initial release was back in 2018) but from the one clip I saw, it looks like fun.

    upload_2020-4-24_12-10-31.png

The second one is Cloudpunk. The 80' movies, dystopian sci-fi futuristic blade runner vibes are strong in this one. Doesn't seem too complex, from what I read it's more exploration and story.

Messing around in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. With all the bad reviews on it, so far I find it enjoyable. Hard to compare to Wildlands which I enjoyed a lot, Breakpoint almost has a Just Cause feeling to it, without the grappling hook and cool explosions. Now that I'm typing it out loud, I think after I get tired of this, I'll install Wildlands back :)

Assassin's Creed Origins is one of my favourite games.

I bought The Hidden Ones and The Curse of the Pharaohs DLCs during last sales. Finished the The Hidden Ones and now just started playing Curse of the Pharaohs. Again, Ancient Egypt’s open world is beautiful!!

I love this type of decor and theme in a game. Huge futuristic city with lots of "verticality" and twinkling lights. On a first glance the gameplay looks maybe a bit too much like Mirror's Edge, but as you say, a good story may make or break it. I hope it will succeed.

Following up on this. It's been a very long time since I enjoyed a game as much as I did Cloudpunk. Very solid 8 hours of gameplay. Missed some of the side quests but closer to the end I just wanted to see what happens with the story.

For anyone who likes this type of atmosphere, I can't recommend it enough. It's an awesome game. I will be following it closely for when the devs add more content in the future.

It seemed to just do it automatically, doesn't seem to be getting in the way of anything.

It definitely seems like Doom Eternal is more difficult that the Doom 2016.

Yes, thank you! I thought my aim went bad and I'm crazy. I played 2016 on Ultra Violent and it was quite enjoyable. In Eternal I have to admit I went to Hurt Me Plenty at some point and now it feels about the same. Strangely Doom Eternal did not draw me in as much as 2016 did. I keep finding myself distracted with other games. IMO there are too many new "gimmicks" and by limiting the ammo count, they sort of force you to use them. The graphics are nice though.

Yeah I like the engine upgrades like better textures and the damaged enemies. It seems to run extremely well at max details. It's just a lot more difficult. Yeah the ammo limitation makes you chainsaw a lot which gets old and the jumping and platforming sequences are annoying. Still like it though.

    Brutal Doom is legit.

Sad state of modern PC gaming.
I love PC gaming, but this crap needs to end. Next thing you know every single game will require an online registration and a separate launcher...

I'm guessing I probably already had one due to previous games. I played a bit of ESO in an attempt to treat it like a single player game, it wasn't a bad experience, but seeing randos running to and fro was a little distracting sometimes and I fell off that. I'm guessing it just detected I had used something of the sort previously. Maybe tied to Steam? Doom 2016? and just auto-logged in. Shrug. I have so many accounts now that are equal footing (GOG, Steam, EA-Origin, EGS, Wizards, Beamdog, etc..etc) it just doesn't matter anymore. It's just another entry in my password manager and 2FA apps.

As far as Brutal Doom.. it's AMAZING.. I've pretty much replayed all the OG stuff through Brutal twice now. Love it. I still haven't finished Sigil yet but i'm part way.

Sigil MIDI soundtrack rules. Not that I don't love the Buckethead one, the MIDI just hits it home for me.

Portal 2. Single player and co-op. Such a fun game.
Managed to talk one of my friends into trying co-op with me. At first he didn't like it, but after a few levels he started to enjoy it a lot.

Played Warcraft 3 xHero siege with a couple friends over LAN last weekend, good fun. Love old stuff that runs on any potato PC.
