Thx no worries man just a forum anyways. The original question about my greedfall comment was too much off topic, shouldn't have bothered continuing to feed it from there mybad. Again it's a good game but playing greedfall while going through TW3 really puts the quality in perspective, great games are timeless like books etcJRE84 likes this.

All I did was very calmly and kindly ask him for his reasoning for a rather strong opinion. Somehow asking someone to explain their position on the game using more than divisive rhetoric culture war speak became me being the bad one here? If you want to lob a grenade at the game labeled "SJW" you should be able to explain it clearly. I've never played the game and was interested in the viewpoint beyond those throwaway jabs in more detail.yrekabakery and killkenny1 like this.

I guess to get back onto games, still loving AC:Origins. Great change of pace from the others in the series. I had to grab a gamepad though, the keyboard controls were a total pain vs Syndicate. I do kind of like the almost RPGness of it. Bayek is a master at hiding in some damn bushes. I like the Phylakes (even if not historically accurate) as well, took down 4 of them so far.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
At about 1/2 through Halo CE got really bored, played a bit more, but in the end dropped it and deleted it. Not my cup of tea. Good thing I didn't buy it, as I had Halo MCC in my wishlist.
Back to F.E.A.R. 2.
So someone claims X, you say "I don't see it, present the evidence that X is true" and then basically get "you are too dumb to comprehend it, education you have received is crap and you are not worth spending the time explaining it" or much popular these days "do your own research" in reply, and somehow you are at fault for "asking questions." Gee, thanks...
Really interesting take...Last edited: Jul 11, 2021 -

Quoted post wasn't yours?
Anyway...
It is kinda a given, considering the fact that TW3 had both a bigger budget and bigger staff working on it. When you use it right you get something like TW3 or RDR2. And we all know what happens when you don't use it right...
With Greedfall you can see they had to use resources sparingly, but when you count that factor in together with the end product you get a pretty decent game.
EDIT: Also good news - there's gonna be a free story DLC based on The Witcher show

By rule, when I see a post complaining of games being political in some way, that is merely the inadvertent admission that the game held political views contrary to their own.
...nobody attributes politics to a situational presentation that matches their own worldviews.
I have to pick a new game. I tried Pumpkin Jack, but it didn't take. I have a little trouble getting into new games.
...I also have trouble prying myself away from old favorites, like FO4.killkenny1, JRE84 and yrekabakery like this. -
Possibly this is why the other posters didn't see any of it, but it's certainly cleverly disguised in most media format and does require discernment/ relevant knowledge as well, regardless of whether you agree with it or not. There are plenty of references in games that someone who has no knowledge of the referenced original material would never notice, most of the time it's hijacked/skewed by the referencer for thier own purposes. SJW usually involves deliberately putting protected, "more equal", entities in certain roles just because they've been designated so by the system at various levels. It's a falsehood for political and othe purposes and is inserted in subtle ways. It also involves deliberate slander of other not protected, deemed less equal, entities. It involves horrid hypocrisy of the current systems own "values". Greedfall is fantasy based but don't be so naive as to think that that's not done for real purposes in the real world.
I'm not too far into greedfall so maybe it's just a fluke/non-political what I noticed so far.. It's pretty janky all over and TW3 playthrough is so much better I haven't been back to it after getting to the first setting after the boat ride. TW3, even the latest version, still crashes at battle kaer morhen unless I turn all low/720p always had that problem since it came out. Too much going on and not properly fixed. Probably have that problem with the final ships battle in skellige too when I get there. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
I think @thegreatsquare nailed it perfectly.
I often see these complains and SJW shoutouts when some game doesn't align with someone's views. And it is always with these games that present, let's say, idealistic society and not the other way around. No one complains i.e. about Call Of Duty and it's mass genocide.
And it is not what some of us don't see this, often it's because we don't care about it. It's a game, why complain and continue playing when something doesn't bring you joy when there are thousand of other games around.hfm likes this. -
Well ok then, I'll just post what I'm playing from now on. I always just liked to comment on it to give an opinion for others consideration, but will leave political stuff out. I don't play COD/cs or any other killathon focused games for that reason it's degrading and frankly uninteresting. Same goes for those dreadful thief simulator, drug dealer simulator, sex games etc I have a hard time playing gtas too but do play them occasionally for the story and amazingly detailed open worlds.

I finally started Red Dead Redemption 2, what a beautifull game, looks stunning and the gameplay and atmosphere are superb aswell. What a masterpiece!

Amazing game, one of my all time favorites.
It also has scheduled DLSS update coming out tomorrow so looking forward to that performance boost. -

Tried it. Definitely looks better than TAA or FXAA and performs better than MSAA.Cylix101 likes this. -
Did a quick test myself, looks really great with it and performence did increase, maybe 10 FPS more, ill need to test more when i play

Did a test using Vulkan. I think TAA looks better on some of the edges, some texture detail and definitely Arthur's hair doesn't have the patchwork effect looks more detailed. DLSS Quality did a better job on the power lines and also just the fact that something that was around 40FPS on Ultra moved to 50+ FPS is a win. I could definitely see DLSS was a little lower texture quality in some cases. It was hard to spot though I really had to look close. I had to really scrutinize on the 2nd run throughs to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing. I did two one with vsync 75Hz since I always use it I hate tearing and this game had bad tearing with it off. I think overall with how hard it was to tell the two apart I'd leave DLSS Quality on even at 1080p. No way I'm going lower than that though at 1080p.
Ultra 1080p TAA vs DLSS Quality, oddly the runs with vsync on still went over 75Hz.. I never actually saw the FPS counter go over 75 though and it was pegged at 75 in some scenes that went well over with it off, so it must be some in between anomaly. Sorry about the odd sizes I didn't bother trying to crop them all the same size. Gained roughly 10FPS average, or around 16% increase at 1080 for DLSS Quality. The more huge win was the first scene with the snow where the FPS counter was in the low 40s for TAA and the 50s for DLSS Quality. That's more like a 25% gain for that lower perf section. The final numbers don't really reflect that.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Mine are 30,973 min FPS / 103,753 max FPS / 80,0601 average FPS with DLSS on quality vs 30,4657 min FPS / 98,4145 max FPS / 69,7303 average FPS with TAA high (custom preset on 3440x1440).
I gladly take those average 10 FPS boost considering how bad TAA looks (just look at any objects while moving, especially tree leaves).hfm likes this. -

Played through RE8 and it's pretty good but fairly short and there just isn't the attachment to ethan like the characters from the first few games for me. 7 was better. RE2re is by far my favorite, now if they just had proper 3d cameras for 0-1 remasters those would be amazing. I'm hoping for another game in the revelations series as I liked both, especially revelations 2.

I wish the village and castle levels were longer... the rest of the game felt like B-roll, or just filler material compared to the castle.

I know I keep saying how much I loved FarCry 5.

Still on my replay of TW3, at the final battle in the main game and doing Blood and Wine at the same time. Goes too fast! Really wish they would have done more real DLC for it, even just more contracts. I haven't done any main Hearts of Stone bc of that fugly facial scar Geralt gets in it until you get it off later. The music is so great in this whole game.

I got all of it at once. I just 100%'ed it.. there was literally nothing left to do except the quests Reda gives you which I suspect are just endless dynamically generated I didn't bother doing very many they didn't seem worth it. Unfortunately two of the achievements for The Hidden Ones didn't work even though I completed them, saw reports online that it was a bug but I just didn't have it left in me to New Game+ just to try to get them. I was only achievement hunting to make sure I didn't miss any of the game. Best AC game in the series so far IMO (Sorry Ezio, it's just true). Just the museum style discovery tour thing is worth the price of admission IMO. I love history and museums and I was blown away how well they did that.
I'm playing Odyssey now, like it so far, though there was just something about the Egypt setting that was special. I am liking that it's pretty much an identical system to Origins with a few little tweaks here and there. Definitely also a stunning game so far from an environment and art direction standpoint, though I'm only lvl 5 so far. Can't wait to see how they handle ancient Greece and tie some of the mythology to the precursors like they did with Origins. A little of a stretch in The Curse of the Pharaohs, but it still worked if you let it. hah..
I suspect with Greece being roughly 300 EDIT: 400 just looked it up, years previous to Origins (Cleopatra was alive from 69-30 BCE) that there is literally no "assassins" part to it since Bayek started the "order". I don't like calling it the Brotherhood, too many badass women assassins for that, and the whole "brother" moniker is steeped in too much problematic thinking. I mean obviously the sneaky assassination mechanic is there, wouldn't be an AC game without it. Will be interesting to see how they handle the precursors in this one (guessing a lot of Greece mythology is wrapped up in it..) and as well how they handle the whole templar vs assassins story thing if at all. Might be hard to do that seeing how Bayek originated that and that was 400 years later. Can't wait to finish it all though, not burned out on them yet. I basically picked Unity back up during lockdown and blew through to Odyssey lol. Hopefully by the time I finish Odyssey I will still feel like moving on to tackling Valhalla. It'll be the first time I've been caught up with the franchise since I was playing them all at release time up to AC3.
I'd love to see an animated series for AC just kind of following the games from inception. That would be fantastic. I could see a lot of seasons coming out of that. I'm not really into the feature film aspect here there's just way too much stuff to tackle for 2-.2.5 hr movies that take years to make. I'm also a little skeptical of what they are thinking for the next game to be a "service" oriented one. I'll try to keep an open mind about it, but I kind of like the single player aspect, not really a huge fan of any of the MP or community stuff they add in, thankfully it can be ignored for the most part. Especially the parts in Unity where you'd see calls for help from others, one popped up right in front of me while I was in a huge long drawn out mission and I accidentally activated it while trying to loot a body. Was so frustrating that I had to bail on it and restart the whole mission I was on as a consequence..
This related article just popped up in my feed.. pretty cool

Fired up Chernobylite and it looks good graphically but the rest is kind of clunky tbh, the base building feels a lot like FO4. Not a big fan of the micro managing rations etc either, another SOD2 thing.
Just finished TW3 Blood and Wine and I had no idea there was a prison ending lol I suspect last I was playing it primarily back years ago it hadn't been done yet to be covered idk. Have a save to where I can do as many different endings in that, I like the fairytale world more than the vampire cave, syana mm mm good. Still havn't started the final final battle in the main campaign but it's all ready to go. May do HOS dlc first.JRE84 likes this. -
STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order. Bought it during the last Steam sale and just started it. About 4 hours into it. A little too puzzle oriented but I like playing it.

For some strange reason I got back into Ring of Elysium these days. The player base is 95% gone, there are mostly bots but I do get real players occasionally. Even with this, it's still fun for a few sessions every other day.
I'd like to get back into PUBG as well but I feel it needs too much time to get back into the zone and not get killed instantly every game.
