johnksss, what upgrades did you do to your computer to get that vista experience score? I see your upgraded the cpu. Did you change out your memory or did the memory score increase when you changed out the cpu?

that memory score is hard to change, but yes it went up from 4.7 tp 5.0 and from there to 5.1 with a memory timing adjustment.

I tried those timings and it was really slow and buggy. I will have to experiment with other timings now, to see what the best performance I could get.

UTIII runs great, but after UT2004 it is a disappointment. The number of maps is low. The game feel slower (the pace of the game not how it runs).

I traded my copy in yesterday at EB.

I have 4 GB and the memory score never changed.

My guess is that it went up when you added an 800MHz FSB CPU, even though the ram was still 667. When I get my X7900 I'll confirm.

If you liked Crysis you'll love UT3, its my favorite game by far, maxed setting 1440x900 I get 50-60FPS game runs super smooth far better than Crysis! UT3 has great graphics and unlimited replay value, and is very addictive.

What am I missing with Memset beta 3.5? I change all the timings to 5-4-4-11 and nothing happens...no change in vista mem score...it feels like it is not really doing anything....

My cpu (a 5550) is idling at mid-to-high 50s while my GPU idles at mid-to-low 40s. Is this a normal ratio. I ask because my last laptop was a e1705 (or Inspiron 9400) and it was the opposite. High 50s seems a bit hot for the CPU, but maybe it's normal...?

    EDIT:

I was just gaming (Assassin's Creed) and the CPU was at 83! This can't be right. Please provide some input... I am even using a laptop cooler.

    thanks!

i have played a few, but really dont recommend it unless it's the 8600m gs. which we dont have on this model.

i ran 575/850 with no problems, but i have only played the following two games. cod4 & crysis). cod4 you can play all high with no oc. crysis is a bit different.

the right drivers will make your life that much easier....

I just got a 6860TX this past weekend....Only removed some stuff...did not do a clean install...

7081 is best score ive gotten....using 174.74 drivers.

But it plays my games smoothly at pretty much max settings so I am happy.
