I'm impressed! Almost as high as mine ;) Woz, that's a sweet score man. I don't recommend, but haven't fooled with anymore, using these clocks..
745/1003/1940 - that's the clocks i set my current score with. Maybe the CPU helps a lil..but I dunno.. Wanna let me know?

    No license agreement showed up.

Also, not sure if I should have it or not, but I do NOT have a nTune service in my "Services" administration area.

Alright, I just got the nTune service to show up by installing nTune and not the System Tools thing. Still no performance tab or EULA to accept.
I'm running P-7811 at stock everything right now on Vista 64-bit.

You may have to uinstall Nvidia graphics and nTune, boot Safe Mode, run Driver Sweeper, boot and make sure generic VGA is installed, reinstall Nvidia graphics and nTune.

    Heya guys a few questions!

    I have a P-7811FX.

I have installed the 177.92 drivers and they are running great, however when I open up Rivatuner to overclock it does not show my correct clock speeds.

It shows 400 core, and I forget the listed mem/shaders but they arnt right either.

Tried both Rivatuner 2.09 and 2.10

Any suggestions there? Also with Ntune I dont seem to be able to overclock my shaders?

    A few questions....

    1. How do get Rivatuner to recognize correct clock speeds so I can use it to overclock?

    2. If I use Ntune, how do I get it to recognize shaders?

    3. Can I use Ntune to automatically set to my stable overclock on startup or do I need to manually do it every time I restart?

    4. Where did you guys find your X9100 CPUs? I cant find any!

    5. Any way to overclock the stock processor with Setfsb or similar programs or like other lappys is the clock generator completely 100% inaccessible?

    Thanks!

    3. Can I use Ntune to automatically set to my stable overclock on startup or do I need to manually do it every time I restart?
    you can in profiles

    5. Any way to overclock the stock processor with Setfsb or similar programs or like other lappys is the clock generator completely 100% inaccessible?

Anyone else with suggestions on where to purchase laptop CPUs that will fit or how to address the Rivatuner issue?

    Thanks :)

I had a similar issue with the Control Panel disappearing after installing the OEM driver. I had to uninstall nvidia drivers and software through control panel of vista. Then rebooted to safe mode.. Ran the Xfastest setup.exe. You arent trying to use a modded driver with xfastest, are you? And you're running the setup.exe file..not trying to install with device manager? Hope so. Run xfastest, then reboot make sure you have control panel..should have OC available. If not, then install 6.02. Check again. Make sure you're installing all 3 options with the 6.02 install..system update, monitor, and control panel i think they are. Check again for OCability. Lemme know what ya get :)

Here is my impression after 1 night of testing the Xfastest driver.

Ive only had time to test through 3 runs of 3D06, and have not tested 05/03/01/Aquamark on XF 177.85 yet, but do have the latest 177.92 from laptop2go on those.

Stock scores I jumped 150-200 points on 3D06 with the XF driver over the 177.92 (modded). Roughly 8550 to 8750 give or take.

Overclocked scores I was even to -30points with the XF driver. (700/800/1750). All scores around 9100 or so.

Temps were slightly better for me on the XF driver.

As E-wrecked mentioned I think the best way to eval drivers is how they perform in game more so than benchmarks. Benchmarks although a useful tool are synthetic and can be easily manipulated by a variety of factors not related to actual performance. For example.....if I wanted to I could test for the best LOD for the 9800M GTS and that would boost another 100-150 points in 3D06 most likely (maybe more?). There are also several other "tweaks" that can be applied.

Im not saying benchmarks arnt important, just that it is important to put them into perspective and not rely 100% on benchmark scores to make your decisions on what driver/hardware to use.

I still need to test XF vs 177.92 in a variety of different ways, but so far they both seem stable and work well in my P-7811FX.

    FWIW.....

PS - anyone figure out how to get Rivatuner to show the correct clocks?? I much prefer it over Ntune personally.

Also I find sometimes that my temp sensors get "stuck" and wont raise above a certain number. I will play a GPU intensive game for an hour and my GPU temp on Nvidia hardware monitor as well as Rivatuner is reading something silly like 44C, or run a 3D bench and the temp sensor doesnt go over 56C or something silly when I know I typically hit 68-70C on that benchmark.....

Im assuming its the modded drivers? Not sure though.

    More testing :)

Aquamark relies heavily on the CPU and GPU drivers and GPU OC may not have impressive effect.

    **IMHO**

I wonder if you uninstall, verify generic VGA, then check the reg for something being left behind. Maybe something registered improperly and can't remove but blocks the control panel start.

how i would go about it:
uninstal all nvidia products from control panel
boot to safe mode run sweeper twice
boot normally run ccleaner get that vga installed reboot
boot normal install drivers have disk method reboot
    install ntune...

but maybe you done all that already...

I get the same behavior - no overclocking option. If I install Ntune I get an overclocking option however once I accept the EULA it crashes before I can even begin overclocking (nvoclk64.dll from memory is whats causing the crash).

Using 177.85 xfastest and have tried uninstalling ntune and drivers from scratch a couple of times in the manner suggested in this thread (drivercleaner, safemode etc etc).

i prefer ntune over riva tuner any day. it might not the most user friendly to profile, but it works very well on my rig.

i cant see the reason why the eula wont appear, did you try the older ntune 5.5 ?

and maybe start with installing the 177.35 HWQL ?

I am running XF 177.85 and had BSOD issues when trying to OC with ntune and atitools also, then I installed the latest nvidia system tools and now the performance / oc settings are right in the nvidia control panel.
