OEM cds that contain copyrighted material(in this case, a windows OS) can not be legally shared. Gateway is your only legal option, so I suggest that you speak to someone higher up in the "foodchain" if you really want it and prove that you are entitled to it. Also, discussion related software piracy(like illegally uploading/downloading copyrighted material) is against the forum rules...

    Anyways... I get 9471 3DMarks with 700/950/1800 with Nvidia's 179.48 driver. Anyone gone higher?

Edit: Just got 9498, same settings. Highest I've seen on forums is 9500 with stock CPU

Got a Question, running Warhammer online the opening movie seems to jump / lag throughout the whole move. While the game plays well the move is awful. I have downloaded the new drivers for the video card and still having the problems. Anyone else having situations close with the 7805u? or maybe a fix i am not seeing.

    1) Do you have your power settings set to "Power Saver" or "Balanced"?
    2) Is the laptop plugged in?
    3) Have you tried Dox's drivers from Laptopvideo2go.com?

Yeah I was pretty happy with those scores :)
Though now I get around 9490 because I've installed some background things since than.
Such as AVG 8.0, Rocketdock, Object Dock, etc.

    SemiGamer -

That is why I have a "Gamer" user on my system (did it on XP, too). The primary user gets all of that or similar stuff, and the Gamer user only has running those background programs absolutely necessary.

My latest 3DMark06 Score is up to 9523 with 708/952/1750 setting. The nvidia 179.20 beta driver did get the score past 9500 when the dox driver got me in the early 9400 range.

Wonder what rating would the Cnet author give the laptops thats got the 1920x1200 screens as it says 1440x900 screen resolution was a real let down for this beast.

Somebody had a similar problem and it turned out they didn't have the charger completely plugged in.

Easy to do since it does fit very tight, at least mine does.

Is the little blue light (right side one) lighting up when you are using the charger?

Well the chipset max is 8, but technically gateway specs the notebook with a max of 4. I'd imagine 8 would work, but as you stated, its nearly a grand for 2x4gb sodimms of ddr3, so I don't see anyone rushing out to try it when it's not necessarily even supported.

Finaly is mine. In 02/26/09 has arrived in Romania. My first laptop. It is amazing. It is 1440x900 and i'm happy with him, the 1920x1200 would be too much.
I have not changed anything, it goes perfectly with Vista, Norton 360, and the GPU driver si something like 175.xx, goes well.
Score in 3dmark06 is 9223 with defaults settings.

A question now:I have not done any back-up or system restore CD, and I do not know how. A suggestion or a link to how to do it, you can give me?

Congratulations with your new system :)

To create the dsics, get 3 DVD-R's, go to Start menu - Type in "Recovery" - Click "Gateway Recovery Manager" - Make both of them, Apps/Drivers and Factory Defaults, Factory defaults will take 2 DVD-R's, you will be prompt for the 2nd disc when its done burning the first.

After i do that, what else i need to do to secure my laptop? Do i need to change Norton 360 with another program like AVG or AVIRA, or it is good enough to secure my laptop? I'm using Avira in my PC and is working very good.

I uninstalled Norton 360 the first day I had this notebook, its uses way to much resources. Alot of us here are using AVG and Avira, I myself am using AVG at the moment.
The programs I'm using to keep my system clean and protected is:
    AVG (Paid for version).
    O&O Defrag.
    Auslogics Boostspeed.
    CCleaner.

HWMonitor will show you all system temps available.

And, I have a question for those of you who own a 78xx system, does it have facial recognition for the camera? I was wondering as I see it more and more on other laptops and figured it would be nice to have to simplify logins on the system.

Norton 360 may use alot of resources, but Norton Internet security does not, I have been using it for two months now with hardly no system hit, I was using AVG 8.0 free before, and it was using more system resources, the new Norton is not the old Norton. I can understand the past frustration of Norton, I felt the same way, there was no way I would install a Norton Product until a fellow NBR turned me on to it, I had a open mind and am totally impressed. The new Norton even goes into sleep mode when you go full screen, or you can manually go to sleep mode for up to 6 hours.

Yes, your system restore is off of your D: Drive. I would make a backup dvd of your apps, and drivers first, I think the directions on how to do it or on page 22ish of your manual.
