can if you want to. i havn't noticed much difference other than 25 point less in 3dMark. I would lay off the AA to up FPS but then i have 1920X1200 res and it doesn't make it look any better for me on or off. just more FPS with it off

all that said it is a desktop package.

just installed and run the farcry 2 benchmark. i don't see much improvement at all.

24.46 avg fps vs. 24.15 avg fps.

    that is 180.48 vs. 178.13

If you find it to be a hassel to update drivers, just wait until you hear people say it ACTUALLY does provide some "in game" benefit. otherwise it is a waste of time to constantly be switching drivers. I for one don't mind it but will probably wait for Dox's version unless people begin praising it heavily, but who knows i might throw it on there tonight :p

I'm a P-7811FX Owner, can you guys tell me what's the best driver for my 9800M GTS. I'm using Dox's 180.44, but i got bad performance with Company Of Heroes and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare. With 8600GT (My Desktop), i got about 55 Avg FPS. But i got 34 avg FPS with my 9800M GTS (Max settings). And COD4, the FPS drop down at 22 whenever have explosure scene (1900x1200, 0xAA, maxed out). I've turn to high performance mode, nothing change. And i tried to overclocked it 698/990/1800. It's not help. ( I plugged the charge )
What can i do? I don't think COD4 can beat 9800M GTS :( one more thing is my FPS never drop down when something blow up in Crysis Warhead (Often 30FPS). But with COD4, it's jumping up and down like crazy  is there any patch that can solve this problem? Or should i try some other driver?

btw i am updating my drivers for some time by actually updating them rather than uninstall sweeping rebooting installing drivers physix ntune etc.

the next step is to check the nvidia information panel if all components were updated to the new version.
so far only one upgrade resulted in mixed versions components so the whole routine was needed.

p.s. anyone using the .48's yet? hate to read laptopvideo2go, since most people are having difficulties with installing the drivers all the time, and the forum is polluted.

Ok, so I'm now using the 180.48 drivers on my Gateway P-6831fx, but the computer doesn't sleep anymore when I close the lid. Is this something I have to live with if I'm not using Gateway's recommended latest drivers? I checked all my power management settings, but they still show sleep on lid close.

Ok I've noticed something strange here, I using the 7811FX hooked up with HDMI cable on my fullhd plasma, then when I use customized drivers the resolutions 1920x1080 is ok, it fits the entire screen , but when I use any driver that needs a modified inf the image doesn't fit the entire screen in the same resolution, loosing 20% of screen size, so any have the same problem or now to fix this?

Can I safely assume this driver is the successor to the XFastest 177.85 driver (i.e. it works with the 7811)? Has anyone tried it out yet?

i always had xfastest previous ones, but then i think i installed some cuda drivers so i could use my gpu for hash cracking and did 3dmark06, and got 8794 stock. I just installed vista x64 180.48 and got only 8450 so it really stinks. About to install newest xfastest and see how that goes.

edit: xfastest 180.70 7605. About to try cuda 2.0 178.08...

edit2: yup yup... cuda 2.0 178.08<a> 8768. There are cuda 2.1 beta 180.60 available but when i tried to install it i got a message saying that my video is not supported.

I have lockups system while gaming with Dox 180.43, Dox 180.44 and 180.48 the last one, I'm currently using the 180.70 and looks like it solve my problem with lockups have none till the moment :)
FPS decrease a little bit with 180.70, but its better than restart every 30 minutes...

How did you pull that off? From the description you have a stock 7811 right?
I got 15k ish for the cpu and just under 3k for the gpu score.
    Are you OCing anything?
    What are you doing different?

What are you testing it under? (Though I wouldn't think it would make a difference, since they should compensate for different tests. I was using extreme)

    Thats overclocked gpu @ 700/900/1700.

Thanks man, i will give it a try right now. I was thinking about modified inf yesterday, but driver from nvidia site is only one file, and when you start it, it would start setup automatically, so i simply could not add any inf files (i would need some kind of .exe editor). But laptop2go actually gives extracted setup so you can change the inf. Like i said i am about to install it... thanks once more.

    Edit: cuda 2.1 beta 180.60 8360.

    Edit2: laptop2go nvidia 180.70 8762.

edit3: hehe just got the same oc score on new nvidia 180.70... 700/900/1700 9376

I just tried rivatuner. Using their OC, or at least what was under the OC tab, nothing really happened.

nVidia System Tools 6.03 surprised me because I was using the old nTune 5.05.54.00 all this time.

Also do I have to uninstall nVidia System tools before I use Driver Sweeper? And in both 180.70 and 178.24 I try to load a profile from the control panel for overclocking and it says "There has been a problem loading C:\...nvsutil.nsu". Any ideas? Worked before.

No you don't and try re-creating your profiles now that you've upgraded to NST.
