When I tested out all of my overclocking after reaching 700/900/1800, 15Mhz on the core didnt do a thing, neither did 50Mhz on the Shader, but any small amount on the memory made huge gains. I could OC my memory by 20Mhz and get +1 FPS. So basically Im saying try boosting the memory and keeping the others the same, Im not sure if it will work the same for everyone else.

Latest drivers from Xfastest - v186.24: http://www.xfastest.com/viewthread.php?tid=26094&extra=page%3D1
-
I don't understand preparation step 2. What exactly am i downloading?
Also for the geforce notebook driver what do i uninstall because i have display driver and high definition audio driver. I just ran the exe after i installed it. -
Anyone else getting sudden fps drops after gaming for a while at 700/900/1700? It seems the gpu downclocked itself or sth like that. I suddenly got 23-30 fps at l4d after constant smooth gameplay.

Also can someone tell me what the Forceware v185.85 is? -
Hey the first page says do not reboot but I read some people use driver sweeper in safe mode?
-
Right now, I just want to know if Dox Customised Forceware v185.85 is better or is nVidia GeForce for Notebooks v186.03 better.
-
Kamin_Majere =][= Ordo Hereticus
I've been having nice results with 186.03, but i havent tried DOX's 185.85 -
Problem is i just downloaded and installed Dox but nothing seems to work, i can't play games or anything. Did i do something wrong? I followed the instructions and removed all other drivers before installing.
Now i don't even have the Nvidia tool bar. I can't play any game and it's pissing me off. -
I dont beleive the DOX driver contains the Nvidia Control panel, but that still shouldnt mess up your game play. "If it aint broke dont fix it." I would just re install 186.03 if I were you.
-
i dont like 186.03; only good for benchmarking, not much else.
had a far better experience with 185.30 and more recently, 190.15 -
I'm using the 190 beta right now cause thats the only one that would install for me. -
Is Intel Matrix Storage Manager only required for RAID?
-
What about the the latest nvidia website driver, any good?
-
Very good imo.
-
for some ing reason it wont install for me.
-
186.18 are absolutely the best for me so far, on my p7805u.
-
aren't those quadro drivers?
-
Has anyone experienced their drivers failing? My screen would go black and then 5 seconds later it comes back on and says display driver 190.05 has failed and recovered.
I also noticed that every time i use megavideo i would notice a square in the center of my screen that is not in sync with the rest of the video. But download shows and use VLC, or windows media player it works fine. -
-
186.03 would cause DoW2 to severely spaze out.
-
v190.38 is out.

New version on driver sweeper is out.
http://phyxion.net/ -
If it works for you, then please tell me what version of the driver you are running, where you got it from, and what inf file you are using. -
190.15 VIsta 64-bit drivers
1.2.0 Powermizer
modded. inf file for 190.15 drivers downloaded from laptopvideo2go.com ( http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/24289-v19015-vista7-64bit-nvidia/); Click modded .inf link
Powermizer switch downloaded from here (1st post): http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=273276 DIRECT LINK: http://www.box.net/shared/v7jpoateoq -

official NVIDIA ones; then used modded. inf file to install
-
Well I couldn't find the 190.15 drivers on NVIDIA's site, so I used the ones from laptopvideo2go.com. It didn't matter what I set the registry values to, powermizer did not respond to my settings. I think what happened was that the ability to customize Powermizer was removed after 179.xx.
Powermizer might still work in automatic mode, meaning that the driver itself determines when it wants to enable powermizer, and at what levels it wants to set it at. I did notice that when I ran in battery mode, my game seemed to run just a tad bit slower than when I was plugged in.
IMHO, this is quite unfortunate as I don't need high FPS for some of my games, in fact I prefer them to run slower in some instances. I used to be able to significantly extend my battery life, and lower my GPU temps, power draw, and overall system heat output by setting the powermizer reg keys to their most mizerly settings. -
i figure i should add some input on the modded beta drivers. 160.15 is trash. those drivers have been causeing the gpu temps to spike to 90c+. went back to dox 185.85 and temps havnt go above 71c. has any one eles tried them? if so did you experienced the same thing as i?
edit-wrong driver -
For some reason, none of the other drivers will install for me, I would follow the instructions of removing the older files, but then when i try to install the new driver nothing would happen, installation would go though but i still don't have display driver. Only one that works for me is the 190.15 beta or something, not even the official newest driver from nVidia themselves work.

I got NVidia's 190.38 to install with the modded inf from laptopvideo2go. What laptop and OS are you using? Where excatly did your install fail and what error message did you recieve?
-

Here is a better link for the Matrix Storage Manager v8.9.0.1023

Hello there,
I am new to this site and I am not sure if I am posting this reply in the right thread but seeing that this is related to nvidia drivers I think this should be ok.
I just bought a new Gateway Laptop the other day Gateway P7901H. Very cool looking nice configuration (Quad processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard driver, Nividia Geforce GTX 260M with 1GB dedicated memory)
Now that being said I seem to have a hard time installing the new nvidia drivers. Everytime I am trying to install the drivers I get an error message stating that "Nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers compatible with your current hardware" and I don't know what to do.
I have tried installing the ones from gateway support website, even the ones from nvidia's website do not work.
Does anyone have any solutions, suggestions? Please help.
Thank you. -
You need a driver that has the inf file modified for mobile GPU. The first post will give you links. Dox for example has the proper inf file already (Xfast also). Drivers form Laptopvideo2go needs the modified inf (available on the Lap2go site and you will see it on the same L2go driver page) and replace the original inf in the extracted driver folder. nVidia now has some beta drivers available also that will install on mobile (these have the proper inf already).
This is a rough explanation but now the first post may make more sense to you.
Notice the .inf file highlighted. That is the one that needs replacement in L2go drivers. -
Hi guys, about drivers,
I have Gateway P-7809 Fx model, Vista Home Pro Edition X64 SP1, I installed Counter Strike Source, and for some reason when I start a new server with CPU players , bots are not moving fluent , is looking like they are shaking
Can be because I didn't install any Nvidia driver for video card? I have driver that come with laptop
If I run video card stress test everything is smooth and I have ~250 FPS at the end of the test
Regards -
It could be the video driver. NVidia updates drivers to support different games, and certain drivers perform better with certain graphics cards and games. You need to ask people who play the same games you do what driver version they think is best. The forums at laptopvideo2go.com would be a good place to do that.

I ugraded to the newest drive on Nvidia site. It seems that it loaded correctly: However, when my computer loads up, the picture is WAY over saturated... If I go into properties and click on the Nvidia tab and the picture color blinks back to normal.. any ideas??

P-68xx/17xx/78xx FX: Intel Matrix Storage Manager v8.9.0.1023 (16/07/2009)
P-68xx/17xx/78xx FX: Intel PRO/Wireless & WiFi Link v12.4.3.9 (16/07/2009)
The links for these on the OP are flip-flopped. -
I find the 186.32 drivers to run amazingly well on my p7805u. I run games @ 1920x1200 usually at max settings really smooth with some GPU overclocking. Check out my gameplay vids I made and posted on www.youtube.com/androsforever
-
who's currently usin what driver ? I'm on 186.34 and I gotta say it's not the greatest. I feel like it's stuttering a little and it's not as smooth but can't remember which I had before

186.42 is awesomeee
