Is it normal if 3Dmarks crashes? Cause it happens to me everytime i go with 700/950/1750. It would just run normally and freeze in the middle of the first graphics test. I'm using 190.05 driver
So i changed the OC back to 700/900/1700 and i got 8833, how come my score is so low compared to others when they have stock parts and settings and they get over 9k

Ok everyone Ive gotten my X9100, have to wait until after work to benchmark. But get ready to see me break 13K!
-
lol good luck!
-
Well I got 12006 so far. This is on Windows Vista with all my junk on it gonna swap my HD and install a fresh Win 7, I will update in a bit
-
you are forcing my hand to try break 12006 now!!!
-
Here is my latest
-
Well Win7 didnt work as well as I had hoped, although I only did the "update" and not a fresh install so ive still got all my crap on here. I got like 119xx something Im not too sure. I will be playing around some more soon
-
Records have been updated, congrats on breaking 12! Rep!

11929 is my best effort thus far. Forced to use Dox's 185.85 drivers instead of my usual 190.15 drivers; damn you Blu-ray playback + WHQL certification!!! Have no desire to update/downgrade drivers again until Windows 7 fresh install so I guess I'll have to try break the 12K mark on 185.85. Numerous programs running in background - I didnt bother turning them off.
-
what are you guys' stable gaming clocks for 9800GTS
-
i play with 705/950/1850.

I have a 7805u, would switching to a x9100 or q9100, significantly decrease battery life?
-
you cant switch to a q1000 because the 7805u is not quad-core compatible. X9100 is fine; got one myself.....with a bit of undervolting, i'm sure you'll be able to prolong the battery life. My 7805u serves as my DTR so it's almost always plugged in - cant really comment on battery life.
X9100 does generate a lot of heat though. Get yourself a E0 stepping one, not like my C0 stepping one which idles @ 55C -
okay, thanks for your reply. How exactly would i undervolt? Does the clocking options in the bios unlock once i put in an extreme chip? or would i need a program to do that
-
Gateway kinda stuffed us with crappy bioses that dont OC past 3Ghz. This means that the X9100 cant OC any further. In fact, you cant OC at all on the p7805u either via bios or setfsb.
earlier FX models were able to OC but only upto the afore-mentioned 3GHz limit.
there has been some talk of a possible hardware mod involving soldering a 2K resistor between certain "junctions" on the mobo to enable OCing but no-one has volunteered to guinea pig it so it's all theorycraft at present.
With regard to undervolting, you can try out RMClock (freeware) or CPUGenie (shareware). I used to use RMClock but then switched over to CPUGenie. -
Hey all,
Just ran 3DMark06 - 12018

Well I am happy with the score, I don't run games on that rez's I run it at 1920x1200 but the CPU is tight, I haven't done any encoding or anything like that. I'm happy with what I bought. =) Got a good deal on it.
-
Well, here my first stab at it. Will try again tomorrow.

Very nice evil claw. =) What score are you getting on the Windows Index Experience for the CPU? For some reason I get an error when I run it something about drivers not working....very weird.
-
I'm back from hiatus! My 6860's gpu died
I'll try to keep it updated though.
-
I would like some benchmarks from some 7819 users asap

If your getting an error message that says "cannot complete because something is reporting an error.." when you run the Windows Exp Index you may want to look at the problems I had here.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=433957
I think it was because it created a windows.old file and I kept deleting it thus causing this error. I wound up reinstall and reformat at same time and it didn't create the windows.old file thus nothing to delete and all is well. This was just my experience and experiences do vary. -
I did a fresh install so i shouldn't have Vista stuff on my computer.

What do you mean AGlobalThreask?

You had RMClock running but it wasn't doing anything.
-
It's working for me, maybe it was at just that moment that it wasn't doing anything.
-

At that moment you were using the no management profile, there was no influence on the cpu from RMClock unless you setup the "No Management" as your "Performance on Demand".. If not, then there was no undervolt or anything and rmclock was just running as an extra process in the background. You should undervolt and lock it to the maximum multiplier when you run benchmarks/do anything cpu intensive.
The color of the system tray icon reflects the profile in use.
No management is grey
Performance on demand is pink
Maximal Performance is red -

I leave SuperLFM checked, but I'm not using IDA.
The icon will not go from pink to grey when the multiplier is maxed. If the icon is grey it means you are using the "no management" profile. The pink performance on demand icon will change as the CPU speed increases/decreases. It will look like a pink pie chart, completely pink means the computer is demanding CPU speed and it's at the maximum multiplier you allowed (11x).
If you want to LOCK it to a multiplier, what you want to do is go to the power saving profile and ONLY check the use p-state box and the SuperLFM box (First 6x box at the top - For battery and plugged in). Then whenever you change to power saving it will ONLY be using the lowest multiplier (SuperLFM). To lock it to the highest multiplier, use the maximal performance profile and only check the use p-state box and the highest multiplier (11x - For battery and plugged in).
You can also undervolt the other multipliers more (Will take time to stress test though obviously) -
Why would it switch from preformance on demand to no management?
-
AGlobalThreatsK Notebook Evangelist
It wont, you control the program
Whatever options you set it will follow. -
I have it set to that though but it changes from pink to grey, I don't get why it does that.

Do you ever change your vista power profile?
You have the Advanced CPU settings set to "mobile" and also that is set to apply at startup also correct? -
"You have the Advanced CPU settings set to "mobile" and also that is set to apply at startup also correct?"
Yes I have it set to that and I have a custom power setting. -
AGlobalThreatsK Notebook Evangelist
You created a custom vista power profile? Why not just use the high performance profile and then modify the settings you want to change?
Do you ever CHANGE power profiles? Meaning - do you ever switch to a different one? -
I keep the same profile at all times. Guess it doesnt really matter, I'm not too worried about it because even though when it's on grey its still undervolted. As for the profiles, all i did was edit the one one windows 7 has and thats the balanced one and it saved it as "my custom plan 1"

Best new score I have achieved... with clocks at 635/935/1560... I got that extra bit of performance for not completing the underclock on my T9300... -
